I really, REALLY can't stand Hot Chip. Am I alone with this feeling, as generally people seem to like them on here.

Somebody must share my pain...anybody?

Whoo, some of the first names for the Rock Werchter festival got announced today. Already sounds like it will be great! =D

R.E.M., dEUS, Lenny Kravitz, Radiohead, Counting Crows, The Chemical Brothers, Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals, Kaiser Chiefs, Sigur Ros, Mika, Nightwish, Editors, Roísín Murphy, The Hives, Chris Cornell, The Kooks, Air Traffic, Justice, Digitalism, KT Tunstall, Beirut, Gossip, John Butler Trio, Band of Horses.

Now just to wait for more names and then to figure out how many days I'll be going. =O

Oh goddam I want to go to that festival now. Seriously if I had to pick the bands at a festival those three would very near the top of my list. Oh and I like Hot Chip, sorry Flink XD

I'm listening to it. I passed Boy From School. It's not leaving much of an impact. I'm on Colours now.

It's not doing much atm, but I have to listen to it all.

They were going to, weren't they? For Casino Royale. I heard about it, but would love to actually hear their idea...

Honey... Boy From School is the best song of 2006. Seriously, listen to it on repeat some 10 times or so. You'll understand. There's something so beautifully sad about the way he says "we try... but we don't belong", it's so depressingly perfect. Dear god, that song gives me chills every single time I hear it. But I assure you... it's an acquired taste, you'll learn to love it, in no time.

Just heard Nine In The Afternoon (Panic At The Disco's new single).

Very unimpressed. Lacks the kooky insanity of the other album. Hopefullt it's just this song.

Personally I think Nine in the Afternoon is the best thing Panic have ever produced. Such a wonderful little pop song, thanks to it being produced at Abbey Road. Can definetely hear some Beatles influences.

*hates the Beatles*

That's probably why, lol. It's just so un-them. It'll grow on me, but right now, it's so very middle-of-the-road.

It's fine not to be confrontational or original or particularly interesting, but there has to be SOME kind of appeal...

I thought they were pretty damn good at Reading last year =] But thats just what I thought, perhaps the sleep deprivation, the scorching sun and the huge amount of alcohol I had drunk the night before has altered my mind as to how bad they were :p

for the record: Panic! at the disco should be locked in windowless cells and left to die alone.

Personally, I'd rather just kill them quick and forget they ever existed as soon as possible.

At least they try to be funny. Being fairly unique for a "popular" band.

That's why I was so annoyed by their new single.

------------

Opinions;

Tori Amos covered Raining Blood by Slayer for an album in 2001. I happen to think her version is a hundred times better (bias? I don't think so..). It's haunting and efing creepy. All ethereal. Slayer's is pure metal (blah), and just isn't as scary as hers. Sure, live, I'd prefer to be in the whole metal atmosphere, but hers trumps it any other day for me.

Tori Amos - Raining Blood

I just find their version to be cliche. Can't even hear the lyrics, making them void of any emotion/imagery they carry (which is evident in her version).

Probably.

But someone of another forum was so very disparigign of Tori, just because she covered it. Not even about the song. Also made her out to be stupid, so I was annoyed. :)

I'll listen to the rest of The Warning by Hot Chip once I finish American Doll Posse(again!).

Also; Everyone check out Laura Marling, so talented for a 17 year old.
