Fresh Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 - Mic for Wii (no ordinary mic?)- Wild Western FPS, uses mic (I think) - Battlefield for Wii and PS3 Sounds interesting. - Mic for Wii with Motion sensing - Wild Western FPS, uses mic Hmm... Move head slightly to left/right/up/down, character starts turnin in that direction. (If it's a headset mic) Surly you would just end up facing away from the TV if you did that?
Cube Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Surly you would just end up facing away from the TV if you did that? Thats why I said turn your head slightly. You turn it slightly to one side, and the character turns in that direction until you look back directly at the screen. Or something like that.
Mike Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 The thing is, parents don't know about the parental controls and hence they don't get used... True, but at least if anyone did try to sue Nintendo for letting their kids talk to paedophiles, at least the fact that a parental control system was there should cover their backs. The whole thing is ridiculous, anyway, as children all have access to chat rooms and MSN anyway. No friends codes for games rated T and up would be great, but I still don't see why we need then at all.
ShadowV7 Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 It could be that if you want to look at something to the side of the screen you move your head a little to that side and the place you were originally looking at is now in the middle and you wouldn't strain your neck or anything. Or you could hold down a button on the nun-chuck and when the buttons pressed it your free to move your head and the characters head on the screen moves, could be like you control the camera in FPS.
christophicus Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Please dont let your minds flurry with excitement over this Mic rumour, remember it is just that, a rumour.
flameboy Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 well some sights are reporting this as fact, with headlines such as: Wii microphone confirmed, channel rumoured http://nintendo-revolution.blogspot.com/2007/03/wii-microphone-confirmed-channel.html all I can say is shall wait and see but if the microphone rumour is indeed true it opens the way to even more immersion surely, you'll have such depth of controller, allowing for both moving around in 3D Space with your head aswell as pointing for shooting say in an FPS. sounds great...
DCK Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 - Mic for Wii (no ordinary mic?)- EA working on Wii WiFi - No friend codes for games rated T and up - EA working on Harry Potter game - "graphics as good as last world on Sonic Secret Rings" - Wild Western FPS, uses mic (I think) - NHL game (something to do with 1994 NHL game) - Black and White 3 for Wii - Battlefield for Wii and PS3 - Fight Night 2007 for all consoles (including Wii) Battlefield for Wii would rule, seriously.
christophicus Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Yeah BF for the Wii would rule!! Although werent the other console ones fairly crap?? Or was taht just because of the Controle systems? Either way they will probably be no where as good as the PC games.
Teppo Holmqvist Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Sorry to ruin the party, but that list is fake. When someone asked Monclo that was there any livefeed for EA conference, he started to list fake things. It was just joke, but it got out of hands. You can find his comment from GoNintendo. However, during latest 1UP Podcast Shane mentions many times EA's new dancing game. Later N'gai Croal, who was a guest, made a passing reference to EA wii commitment and said "I know Shane mentioned it but I'm under NDA." (or something along those lines). It is fairly possible that this is it, as three weeks ago various rumours about EA Montreal (EA's Wii studio) doing rhythm game surfaced. Two weeks later EA officially announced that it was going to publish MTV Networks and Harmonix new rhythm game.
ZeldaFreak Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Sorry to drag it slightly off topic but didn't the original manhunt game need a microphone, so could we be seeing something at e3 press conference - this is getting nice
ShadowV7 Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 No we can't see anything at the E3 press conference cause E3 doesn't exist anymore.
christophicus Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 I thought it did. I thought it was smaller and later on in the year?
ShadowV7 Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 It's not called E3 or anything anymore. It's a lot smaller compared to E3 and it's later in the year compared to E3 It's name is E for all or something and is in October.
christophicus Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Ok thanks. But in essence it is still E3 ?? just without the elaberate booths?
ZeldaFreak Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Hi theres the consumer event in october but the press and industry one in santa monica has been confirmed for july http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=73969 So yes E3 is still here with press conferences. However it will be no over spending, or booth babes.

DCK Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 I seriously doubt any major announcements will be done then. Press events like that need to be done several months before the Christmas holiday to get hype going and let people make plans where to spend their money on.
Charlie Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 I seriously doubt any major announcements will be done then. Press events like that need to be done several months before the Christmas holiday to get hype going and let people make plans where to spend their money on. Well there were a hell of a lot of announcements every single E3 up to last year and that was in May.
McMad Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Well there were a hell of a lot of announcements every single E3 up to last year and that was in May. I think he was talking about the October one, that really is too late to get the word out to consumers. It feels wierd not knowing when all the Big Cheeses are gonna reveal their plans.
ZeldaFreak Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Well nintendo have gone on record saying that they along with sony and probably microsoft will be doing their press conferences around july when the new e3 kicks off
SimonM7 Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Also, Sony implied with their tiny bit of Killzone footage that it'd be shown proper at E3 in.. july I think.. or june... Can't remember, but it said E3 at the end of the footage for sure.
Tyson Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Don't get excited about the mic. Think, new music based game, a mic that is "not ordinary". It doesn't point to online communications if you ask me.
Gizmo Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Black and White 1 was awesome - 2 was disappointing. I'd rather have three on PC than Wii, personally. It's like an RTS - I mean, it would be good, and it would be fun, but why would I play it on my Wii when I can play bigger and better versions on my PC two walls away?
