Posted February 25, 2007 I have barely been online for the last half hour, and I wouldn't have known something was amiss if I hadn't checked the staff boards. I cannot believe what took place last night. I am not addressing this to one or two individuals, but to the forum as a whole. If I'm harsh, then it is because I have to be, but I think my words will be more than fair. Where the hell do you think you guys are? This is an internet forum, and it is dedicated for discussion about Nintendo systems. Sure, the other consoles board is actually pretty good, and this forum tends to be inclusive for members who also enjoy other consoles. See the official xbox360 thread for clarification of that. I'd like to think that I am a fair staff member. Same goes for the rest of my team. Just go and check some of the other sites and forums out there, and check back here. We have been more than lenient, more than patient. As far as I can see, this has been taken for granted. Why must a select few ruin this for the rest of us? If you really don't want to be here, I will say this once and I will say this in the manner that I see fit: Go away. If you don't want to be here, and if you feel you can't contribute anything, just leave. I don't want to see this forum spammed to death. I love this forum and it is my duty to make sure that others can get some kind of enjoyment out of it. I want this issue to be addressed not just by the staff, but by the forum as a whole. You all have a part to play here, hence why this thread exists. Thank you very much for reading this, and I hope that you listen to my words carefully. Posted February 25, 2007 What happened, happened. There should be no special treatment for the members who posted what they did no matter how long they have been here or how they had behaved previously. As for what happens now i think this thread should be locked and deleted, it can only cause controversy. Then a statement should be issued from the mods/admins about why people were banned in a separate locked thread and stickied to the top of the general board. Posted February 25, 2007 I came to this forum after a link from another forum many moons ago, and i would have to agree with what you said Flinky, this forum is a good one. I wasn't online to see what was going on last night (Although i would like to have been to see what the fuss is all about) but yeah i wouldn't want it spoiled. Posted February 25, 2007 This is by far my favorite forum. But I still dunno what actually happened last night,all I know is 3rd and mike got banned. I wish I seen what the whole fuss was about though people said they laughed a lot and said it was Legendary. The modding around here is very lenient, as you say Fierce, but I think (and this is only my opinion) that it needs to be tightened up a bit. As you say yourself, this is a Nintendo Forum. Why, then, are there 30,000 posts in a board which is emulating a general discussion board? I know that the mods/admins would like this to become a close-knit community, but as a Nintendo Forum, we already are that. Nintendo fans are a united bunch. But if there is an agenda here to turn NE into a Nintendo themed variation of DigitalSpy, then I would have to say don't. Don't do it. Don't steer the forum that way. Nintendo is what should be discussed here. I am guilty of making a lot of posts in the Meaningless Thread, but if a General Board is to survive, it needs to be locked. Many many good discussion topics (of which the admins would like to see made) get swallowed by a monster thread with no real purpose but to facilitate spam. Everyone should be happy about this forum, a lot is allowed here that wouldn't be allowed on other forums. We're still waiting to see where the whole idea of the meaningless post thread is going. At the moment, I still think it's a good idea, and it sorta acts as a daily blog post for members.
