Maiky-NiSuTe Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 i do not know for sure it was the 26 inch we tested but it was a bigger screen than 19"

Caris Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 Mate you won't get ghosting on 8ms. You might of had a bad panal or something but you will not get ghosting on a R7.
Maiky-NiSuTe Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 i was talking about the SAM-LE26R87BDX and i said it "can" coase ghosting i dint say it did. our experience says screens with 6ms or higher "can" coase ghosting but every penal developer uses an other way to measure this. since we dint test this particular screen on the 3 main consoles i cant say it doesn't or does. that is why i look at the stats. but most of the time stats don't say anything. testing it before you buy in case of a gamer is always wise to do and the shop owner has to let you to before you buy it. good luck shopping ^.^
Kurtle Squad Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 The Samsung R7 1 or 2 (only the body is deference between 1 and 2) is a very nice screen (19inch) but the bigger ones still has some gosting not mush but in some games with verry dark and verry bright places (like Lost Planet, PGR3 and Gears of War) you will see it. so it all depents on the price they offer you and what you want. it is a better than avaradge screen but not the best. Well I'm now looking for a 32" LCD...Do you have any suggestions?
Maiky-NiSuTe Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 Hmmm At this moment the following LCD TV's might fit your wishes. (1000,- to 1500,- Euro) unfortionaly nisute's LCD testers are out so i cant check but if i remember these were high in the rankings of lcd 1000 to 1500. all are HD and have great refresh rates and can handle multi formats. McPhee Posted August 20, 2007 Author Posted August 20, 2007 What sort of money are you looking at? Im gonna assume <£600 Samsung R86/R87/R88 (same set with cosmetic differences) Sharp RD2E Toshiba WLT68 Philips PFL7562 (don't know much about this set, but it always looks impressive in shops!)

Kurtle Squad Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Heh, It's okay, I reckon a 37" would be fine:heh: Guess that means I could get a plasma... 37" Plasmas Maiky?!
Guest Jordan Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I eventually picked up a Samsung LE32R87BDX. Bloody amazing TV, only downside is its "start up" time or if you turn a device off, it turns the TV off. Any suggestions as to how to eliminate those? Oh and i have 1 dead white pixel in the very top left, is that removable?
Mr_Odwin Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Is it a dead or stuck pixel? That was my thought. Dead pixels are normally black? (The one on my monitor at work is anyway.)
Caris Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 If it's a stuck pixel hook it up to your pc and run this for a few hours over it: http://www.jscreenfix.com/
Guest Jordan Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Cheers Caris, i don't have a vga cable handy atm... Unless i use Windows Media Centre extender... if its a wmv. I'll look into it :p ... Its a firefox only java applet? Erk. Does the 360 support mpg1 now?
Guest Stefkov Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Wierd I know there's a stuck pixel, a green one on my tv. It appears when I play Pro Evo. It's brighter than the rest of the green pitch. I tried that black screen test and it didn't show. Wierd. (Having multiscreen with the tv having Opera on looks so wierd)
Maiky-NiSuTe Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Heh, It's okay, I reckon a 37" would be fine:heh: Guess that means I could get a plasma... 37" Plasmas Maiky?! Yeah and you will like it a lot. good 37" Plasma screens are: Panasonic TH-37PV7F +/- 900,- euro (good price and quality aspect) or Panasonic TH-37PV500 +/- 1900,- euro (mush more expensive but incredible screen) Sony KE-P37M1 You might find a good offer on this one (its an older model) although the disighn is a bit like Playmobile Thomson 37PB220S4 is an other model but i honest do not think its worth looking for
Kurtle Squad Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Okay; thanks; I'll have a look at them when I can be bothered.
Gizmo Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Is £350 a good price for a Samsung LE23R88BDX? (Yes I still haven't bought a TV yet :p) Oh and just to check, the 88 is virtually identical to the 87 other than the power button, with the 88 being exclusive to the Dixons group? Aaaand, is there any chance of that Samsung going down in price anytime soon? I really want to get it but I'm struggling for money still and don't wanna buy when I could have saved an extra 100 quid a month later!
Kurtle Squad Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Yeah and you will like it a lot. good 37" Plasma screens are: Panasonic TH-37PV7F +/- 900,- euro (good price and quality aspect) or Panasonic TH-37PV500 +/- 1900,- euro (mush more expensive but incredible screen) Sony KE-P37M1 You might find a good offer on this one (its an older model) although the disighn is a bit like Playmobile Thomson 37PB220S4 is an other model but i honest do not think its worth looking for I can't really find anything on the Panasonics, and that Sony seems pretty rubbish hardware and looks wise. And I've just read abd stuff about the Thomson. Do you know anything about the Panasonic Viera TH-37PX70?! And what is an HDMI port anyway?
gmac Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 that's mainly because Sony stopped making plasmas, so their more recent models are all LCD
Marshmellow Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 And what is an HDMI port anyway? High Definition Multimedia Interface, or simply put HD video and HD audio in one tiny cable!
