stuwii Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 here you could ask if it worth buying a certain wii game i will start by saying is it worth getting call of duty 3, i already have red steel which is great.
KKOB Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 i'd say no-not on Wii, get the 360 version if you can. i don't consider CoD3 Wii to be playable.
fanman Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Never liked call of duty. I got it in a bundle, so I took it to game the other day and got £40 for it. Score.
stuwii Posted December 29, 2006 Author Posted December 29, 2006 mmm anyone else pondering to buy a game. wario ware, excite truck and sonic will be out soon so are they any good? sonic and excite truck look good. i think i will give cod3 a miss.
KKOB Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 WarioWare looks amazingly good fun, ExciteTruck looks decent and Sonic looks to be the first ever decent 3D Sonic game.
stuwii Posted December 29, 2006 Author Posted December 29, 2006 has anyone else got a game they are thinking of buying?
triforce_keeper Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 I'm definatly buying WarioWare when it's out it Jan as I loved the GC and DS ones.
LeeWii Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Ahhhh, WarioWare GC. The days of taking my copy round my mates' house to play Paper Plane Race all night, the days of getting sweaty palms on the final floor (Wario), and trying nearly 30 times to do the boss-which is now amazingly easy. Can't wait for Smooth Moves-Proof that you don't need good graphics to have pant-pissingly good fun!
That Guy Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 I'm buying Wario Ware cus it looks like inventive use of the Wii remote. Not sure if it'll be any good because I've never played a Wario Ware game before.
Jasper Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 I'de go for Excite Truck, if it wasn't simply because it looked awesome on the GameSport launch video. It looked like a great deal of fun. I'm waiting for Mario Galaxy or Metroid Prime 3.
ShadowV7 Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 I want Trauma Centre but so far there's no date for it. There's to many Wii games I want at the moment that's out in the future so the closest ones i'm getting is Wario Ware and Dragon Ball Z. Both look like fun to play, especially DBZ with the remote, looks fantastic.
darksnowman Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Hmmm, whats out again at the mo? I guess if I was gonna get anything else it'd be Monkey Ball... I think though due to probably not even having barely enough time to get through and thoroughly enjoy what I have at the minutes gonna hamper my need for it though. Ive read negative things about the mini-games so thats really put me off cos the Wii has been superb so far with Wii Sports, Wii Play and the Rabbids all delivering super 2player action. Can anyone sway my opinion on Monkey Ball? In reality, my next buy will probably be Excite Truck.
Strange Cookie Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 I bought CoD3 a couple of days ago, and it's not too shabby. Not too shabby at all. It definitely plays a lot better than Red Steel, which doesn't play too bad to begin with. There are a few issues, though. It clearly is a port from the PS2-version, and not a very well optimized port, that is. The Wii isn't the powerhouse Xbox360 is, but Wii can definitaly do better. At times it is gobsmaking, at other times just plain ugly and buggy (the pop-up in the tank-level is outrageous). Sometimes, the framerate-drops make the controls go haywire, and it's not the CPU that can't keep up, but just bad optimizing. It's a shame, because you can smell the potential, and it's a shame the bugs spoil what could have been an exellent port. There are also a couple of other issues, like the inability to skip cutscenes (FMV from the Xbox360-version, mind. Why they didn't choose to go for real-time scenes is beyond me. Sure, there wouldn't have been so much detail, but the very first cutscene is real-time, and it suits it well.). The result: every time you load your game, you have to watch the introductionary cutscene. Oh, and no online play. Still, it boasts the best FPS-controls to date. I hear a lot of people complaining that the gestures don't work well (strugling man-to-man, placing explosives, etc.) but I have no problems at all. I played CoD2 to death, and I must admit that that is the better game, design-wise. And for the gameplay, well, it's Call of Duty. That's either a good thing or a bad thing. When in doubt, rent.
dazzybee Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 I'll defend CoD 3 - it's aesome on the way, but only if you don't care about the graphics compared to the 360; I don't care and I actually prefer it to the 360 version - thanks to?........ The controller, seriously it makes it so much fun to play with (after an admittedly steep learning curve) but I love it. As for me Excte truck and Wario Ware definitely. I really want Pangya and Trauma but Pangya has no release date and I've seen a June release for Trauma HURRY UP DATEL!!!!
Owen Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 My next Wii games are: WarioWare Jan 12th 2006 Trauma Centre Jan 26th 2006 TBC Excitetruck Feb 15th 2006 All should be good.
Problematique Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 When's Battalion Wars II out? I never played the GC one (could never find it!) and I hear it was excellent... Oh, and Fire Emblem. I love those games to pieces (although the GC one could have been a tadge deeper on the RPG side of it). Now. Want. Wario Ware's on order (£32.99 from Gameplay). I'll also get Trauma Centre, Excite Truck and Elebits.
stuwii Posted December 29, 2006 Author Posted December 29, 2006 bwii is not perfect from what i have heard problematique
Fierce_LiNk Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 bwii is not perfect from what i have heard problematique Where have you heard this from? So far, from what I know, this game is really not all that far along at all. However, online play has been mentioned. I'm looking forward to it.
KKOB Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Trauma Centre Jan 26th 2006 TBC where did that date idea come from? thin air?
Owen Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 where did that date idea come from? thin air? No, a place called http://www.gameplay.co.uk. You might have heard of it. Many have. Lets hope it stays at that date.
stuwii Posted December 29, 2006 Author Posted December 29, 2006 bwii is actually alright after some research, does it have split screen co-op?
That Guy Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 No, a place called http://www.gameplay.co.uk. You might have heard of it. Many have. Lets hope it stays at that date. Wont be. Elite Beat Agents went from 22nd December to February a week or 2 before release, and Elebits went from 29th December to a similar time. I'm still thinking about Excite Truck, although I am wondering if I'm buying Wii games just to see how the controller works in a game of that style.
Haden Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 where did that date idea come from? thin air? Man do you really need to add the thin air comment? I mean you wouldnt talk to someone like that in real life. Unless your tone was one of joviality then I apologise.
Fierce_LiNk Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 bwii is actually alright after some research, does it have split screen co-op? I've actually got no idea. I remember being too excited by the online mode. Just looked here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battalion_Wars_2 "In "Assault" one player simply defends a base while the other attempts to take/destroy the base in a time limit," That sorta sounds like co-op. Well, it is. In a sense.
Zygo Ape Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Im wanting either Rayman or Monkey Ball, if anyones got both which one would you think was better? Madden is also very tempting, did ANYONE buy this??
