Tittybangbang (and the like)

Recommended Posts

Am I the only person who watches and likes this? I don't know many, if any, people who do! This isn't just a thread about tittybangbang, it's about comedy sketch shows in general, past and present. What's your favourites, classics? What do they need more of, and what do they need less of etc etc?

What is it? The name put me off so I've never watched!

I like The Sketch Show that was shown on paramount comedy ages ago, they had some good ones. I've been watching A bit of Fry and Laurie recently too, I think it's a bit hit and miss but some of it is really funny.

It's just another sketch show, but I happen to quite like it! It's got a mainly female cast, with the guy who played Dave in Ali G Indahouse doing bits of support for some sketches. I like sketch shows quite alot, they're short and quick laughs. The Sketch Show? Who was on it? I think I remember something by that name used to be on ITV, and Ronni Ancona was on it before she got famous with impressions. It also had Tim Vine, Lee Mack, some bald guy, and some other woman.

Little Britain and Catherine Tate are good too, but I think but at times I get bored of them somtimes. I dunno if I feel elitist and don't want to like what everyone likes or what. I tend to like most of the sketch shows on BBC3, Tittybangbang, Little Miss Jocelyn, and there was one called Man Stroke Woman earlier this year. It had Ed from Shaun of the Dead/Mike from Spaced, some guy other guy, and a couple of women.

I used to really love Goodness Gracious Me, before it abruptly ended without explanation. Smack the Pony was cool too, and a later C4 one called Spoons. Whenever I mention Spoons though(had Josie D'Arby in it, thought that was a bit unexpected!), nobody seems to know what I'm talking about! As you can see from this post, when it comes to Comedy, I'm not all that fussy, as long as it makes me laugh.

Tbh, it kinda sucks, but considering the fact that it's on terrestrial television, these days, thats pretty much a given.

Yea that's the one. I loved the long sketches they always did at the end with all the characters. Shame it's not on anymore.

I've watched it once or twice. It's alright, but not great. I'll watch it if I have to, but I won't go out of my way to watch it.

Agree with Fatrox. 2 Pints is king.

Tim Vine does standup with one liners, which is surprisingly good. Youtube him, he also holds the record for most jokes told in a minute or something.

From the Wiki:

On 7 October 2004 Vine broke the Guinness World Record for the most jokes told in an hour with 499, beating the previous record of 362. Each joke told by Vine had to get a laugh from the paying audience to count towards the record. He held the record until May 2005.
