I just read that news: http://kotaku.com/5028028/nintendos-reggie-would-love-to-see-bottoms+up-wii-gta It is nothing definitive but well...
-
From the IGN news I posted it appears to be like you press a button for actions during the battle and NOT just click and it continues attacking on its own... And btw.: I think for this game this is not a "NO". I don't think this game would be that suited for a turn-based game but it is very likely suited for real-time battle.
-
I think if they didn't appear at E3 at all the disappointment wouldn't have been that high because then it would have been clear that if they are going to say something regarding hardcore, they will tell about it later BUT the point is before the E3 Reggie said that there will be lots for core gamers... EDIT: I don't know if this article got already posted but if not: http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2008/07/22/nintendo-and-its-e3-fans/ I think it is interesting... Also regarding the Animal Crossing for the Wii but not mainly...

It depends. On DS probably turn based would be better but on a home console it depends. I like both types. It depends on the RGP I play, e.g. I never would like to play certain RPGs without turn-based but also I would not like to play certain RPGs with turn-based instead of real-time... I have just looked on IGN and there was an older news from the end of June this year where they were talking about the battle system about too. And according to that it seem to be real time OR at least NOT turn-based: http://wii.ign.com/articles/884/884837p1.html

So you don't consider the "Tales of" games NOT a J-RPG or Eternal Sonata?
-
Zelda is a RPG type game? Sure it is not supposed to be an adventure?
-
Everywhere I read about that game it is said to be a RPG, so I guess it should be one. Though I don't know about the battle system but that doesn't change the fact that it is a RPG
-
Well: I thought it was out but regarding play.com it will get released on the 1st August but who knows...
-
Has anyone bought that game yet and if so: How was it? I know it is no traditional RPG but a dungeon crawler but I am still interested in it but don't know if I should buy it or not...
-
Hmm... I really wonder if this game will even make it into the US. I hope so. is there anything known regarding this game and US release (or even better European release)? @Shino: As it gets develped in Japan and it is a RPG, I would go so far to call it J-RPG Isn't this game even develped or co-developed by those who created Eternal Sonata and therefore also Baten Kaitos (tri-crescendo)?

No, I just rewatched. He said: "They wanted more [hardcore games], Reggie" but didn't make a "long" pause between more and Reggie (there might was one but it was a more short one) BUT of course, Reggie knew what he meant and he made a joke BUT that was not my point. I just meant regarding that the sentence ended with ", Reggie".

Nintendo Power Teaser!? (latest tease from pg5 onwards)
ghost_zero replied to Retro_Link's topic in Nintendo Gaming
@ShadowV7: I meant the day because the last issue should have been out for a few days now, shouldn't it? I mean it doesn't make much differences, I just would like to know -
No I think the interviewer said: "They wanted more Reggie". Probably he meant: "They wanted more, Reggie" but he didn't make a real pause between more and Reggie. What I find interesting though is that he said that there will be first party WiiWare games and he didn't rule out that there might be some this year still. A Donkey Kong Country 4 for WiiWare would be great (at least for me ).

That guy in the GameTrailers interview said something I wonder about: He said that THOSE games are coming next year (it was when the were talking about Mario and Zelda - nearly at the beginning of the interview). I somehow doubt that we will see those games next year - at least not both... I guess he just meant hardcore games in general like F-Zero, Kid Icarus, ... (though it sounded different) What I wondered about was that Reggie said that he knows a lot about those games (Mario and Zelda). I mean to know a lot means that there is actually something to know about. I thought the Zelda team is currently more doing some brain storming - so how can he know a lot about it..?

Nintendo Power Teaser!? (latest tease from pg5 onwards)

And when exactly will that next issue get released? -
Galestorm? If it is what I think, then yes: Start with small line from left to right then go over in a circle after that line and then end it with another small line from left to right at the end of the circle. Bloom is just a circle. Where problem I had a problem though was with the three lines whirlwind... That haven't worked for me in most cases. If you mean with waterfall those fountains from the "lakes", you just have to draw a not that long (but also not small) line from bottom to top (of course not over the whole screen) more or less without curves and so. The only problem I once had was with Bloom and Sun mixed up during the Konohana dance for the last bud and as mentioned with the whirlwind but that is is not necessary for completing the game but still I would like a fail-safe way to do this.

Isn't the TGS in October too? What about the Leipzig GC now? Will Nintendo make an appearance there or not? From what I know not. Or will Nintendo at least make a press conference there?
-
Btw.: Why is everyone also mentioning Leipzig GC? I thought Nintendo isn't participating there this year? So it should either be a private event or just so to announce something or the TGS, shouldn't it? Also: I really think it wouldn't be that bad, if Nintendo itself steps back a bit. I mean come on. There have been some nice 3rd party releases this year but most got no attention because there was a Nintendo game coming out. And also: Though there might not have gotten much announced yet from third party, I think there will be after the GC or TGS or also just sometime between. OK, it is unlikely that in Europe we will see those games before 2009 then but still... Also: What do you think Nintendo is? It is a game developer and not a magician which can put out a game every month that easily. Every game needs development and gathering ideas and such things.

@Eenuh: You don't just have to shack the Wiimote. You have to time those move and especially it is not really shacking. You have to only move from left to right THEN wait (that is important not just shack back) until the move is nearly finished or when it is finished - not completely sure anymore - and then move back from the right to the left and so on. It is all about timing (it is more like you would really fight instead of just shacking). I had a bit of a problem with it at the beginning myself (probably because I wasn't used to use the Wiimote that way - though it makes more sense that way if you think about it). Just shacking won't help you. Once you have found out the correct timing it shouldn't be such a problem. The most important point is that you just aren't allowed to move the Wiimote from left to right and then immeditaly back from right to left. You have to wait in that position before moving it back.

Already edited... I accidentally wrote the post in German (was writing in ICQ nearly the same time ).

I think that this Wii motion plus could be extremely useful and interesting in a Soul Calibur Title (e.g. it would have fitted into Soul Calibur Legens - though that one got released already in the US, didn't it?)...
-
I would still hope that we would see some improvement for the nunchak reaction. I mean e.g. the idea Okami had for using it was nice but the nunchak just isn't good enough in detecting which direction you moved it...
-
Well: I started to think that it might not be a sensor but just using the available sensors and doing better calculations or what ever... I mean: I also don't see how they would but it seemed like the nunchak got improved too - though probably it didn't...
-
Does this also improve the nunchak sensor capabilities? I mean it looked that way from the Wii Sports 2 part of the conference...
-
As Activision/Blizzard isn't at E3 2008 at all, that is very unlikely...
