I guess I would have done that if most of my GameCube-Games weren't Europe-Versions - and as I wanted to "dump" my GameCube (I don't need that many game consoles standing around)...
-
And what about Japanese games? Buy another console for Japanese games? Also the point most time is not the wait time but that there are many games that don't come out in Europe at all... e.g. the PS2 released games in Europe were only 1/4 to 1/3 (or something like this) of the released games in Japan and for Nintendo it isn't that much different...

You need to go back to the HideOut and afterwards back to HomeTown (yeah I also needed a time to figure that out - I mean who would have thought that the magic school is in HomeTown? I thought it to be in Windia) and after that you can enter the magic school there and then you can go to a mountain west before the colloseum town... And regarding your money... If you had saved previously there is a trick in storing the whole money in the bank before he takes the money (including the 1000 gold or you take the 1000 gold afterwards)... And yeah herbs are important somehow Btw.: Yeah, Windia was easy to find and also the Tugwoods (or how the were called) weren't that hard to find but the rest... Windia is somehow strange too then... I mean: You get thrown out as the castle really fast... The problem is: On the wrong side... Does anybdoy know what exactly I need to do to get back to the side I want to (there is no other direct connection than through Windia - Only maybe something if I have an additional item or whatsoever) -

I also have a bit of troubles with the game but they are different nature... My problem is that if I find out where to head I still don't know where it is because I have no map or something like this that indicate that e.g. Windia is there Mt. Fubi is there a.s.o. Is there something I am overseeing (of course, Windia is clear once you were where the Colloseum is - I don't even know how that city is called because that is not written when you enter the city)... I am currently in Windia though... -

What about Breat of Fire (I) ? I could be wrong but we didn't get that one yet, did we? EDIT: As I never owned Breath of Fire II before, I have a question: Is it normal that at the beginning the whole town, dungeon and people are black and white (not the menu and the message dialogs they are coloured) until you reach some point - which is at nearly at the beginning you are on your way to search Yua at the black mountain - then everything is coloured (even those which previously were black and white)..? -
1) Region-Locked 2) No Auto-Boot-Option if you insert a disk - including starting up with a disk of course - (that's just damn stupid to don't add the possibility for it - e.g. if you insert a GameCube disk you have to use the Wiimote just for starting the game) That are my things I hate most... Not that much but still: 3) that you can't start Wii Channels from SD-Card and of course also that you can't use your savegames as long as the are on the SD-Card... Because basically 512MB internal memory are enough IF you could SD-Card-Storage for doing everything you can with the internal... Oh... Just to mention this... the 512MB are no HDD ... It is just Flash-Memory...

I guess the update was on the disk too and got automatically installed during loading the game (at least that's how I would do it and how it got done on other consoles too)...

Also the Japanese Naruto games didn't get released here and won't get (only some special version that are not the Japanese ones - different story e.g.)... As well as Baten Kaitos Origins... So therefore I would need a US-Wii (or Cube) for Baten Kaitos Origins... One for the Japanese Naruto-Games (if I would want to play them) and an Europe one for my regular games that came out in Europe (of course only if the delay between US and Europe Version isn't too high)... So you suggest I buy three Wiis ? Where I should only need one ? Not to mention how expensive that is... And eBay doesn't really count... For once they are mostly used and so on (at least if the "only" cost 150 € which is still to much if I need two more of them)... Although I admit that I at least thought of it already but I don't think it will happen... Just to expensive... Also: Modchips themselves normally can't get detected... But you might find ways to block the Wii to start up if it is active by doing something the chip doesn't expect (but it could be fixed by a firmware update of the modchip)... Microsoft only detects modified firmwares on DVD drives which is a bit different... I am still currently hoping for a FreeLoader UNTIL I really need it... mostly only happens if a game doesn't come out here that I want (like Baten Kaitos Origins)... Or like many "Tales of" games never made it to Europe (well most of them if you look at it)... I just hope that Tales of Symphonia 2 will make it to Europe (I am not that sure about it because it is a "Tales of" game although I guess "Tales of Symphonia" did well in Europe so I guess it will but who really knows yet?)

If modchips are legal or illegal depends on the country... In any case Nintendo and the others should just damn remove their region locking and they could be against mod chips the hell they want... @Maiky-NiSuTe: Fine... I would buy an US-Wii if I would like to spend another 250 € (or maybe a bit less) for a console I already regulary own... EDIT: Ah... I nearly forgot... I would need an extra of about 400-500 € because I would need a Japanese Version too - For japanese Games (especially Japanese only games)... Right... I will do... If you give me the money for it (for free)... Not that my intention currently is to get a mod-chip... I hope for a freeloader... And also what's against homebrew? Maybe not many have use for them but they can be quite interesting and good too... e.g. play DivX-Files with PS2 on your TV a.s.o. Oh: The PS2 is the only console I ever modded (and I hope it will stay that way - FreeLoader for Wii games would be fine or maybe if I had 250 €, which I would never need for other things (nearly impossible because if I would store it for later when I need it) I could buy an US-Wii BUT then I still would have troubles with Japanese-Games) and thank godness I did for that one... Otherwise I would have had to say bye-bye to my savegames - because of not being able to run the needed homebrew software - AND memory card ones (and I didn't even turn it off during the saving process)... But well that is more a kind of problem from the PS2 (don't think this problem would exist for Wii too)...
-
No... I can't even see why the ban importing Wii games... Did they ever had a problem with DS and Gameboy being not region-locked? No... Because the games still get bought and even if: there probably aren't that many that do this anyway, so Nintendo Europe would still sell enough "copies"...
-
Well I am not that happy about it... After all modchips would currently be the only option to let US- and JP-Wii-Games run on your Wii (although I don't own one because I would prefer a FreeLoader and still hope there will be one until the time I really need it for US- and JP-Games). Things would be different of course, if they would have just made the Wii region-free as the intentended to do at the beginning...
-
Does anybody know if modded Wiis really doesn't work anymore? And if not, if the mod-chips functions are still working correctly...
-
Btw.: I wonder... What happens if you have a power blackout during update..? Can you resume the update then somehow or will nothing be changed or do you have to send the Wii to Nintendo... @thirtynine.: I wouldn't be that sure that they are undetectable although if you can turn them off you should be fine after turning them off... Also: Maybe they don't detect them but changed something which could make the Wiis to malfunction if a Modchip is present...
-
I guess he means Wiis with Modchip that get updated with that firmware and how many of them won't work afterwards anymore (also because of the picutre thirtynine. posted)...
-
In any case: I think the problem that the FreeLoader doesn't load is probably just something like a blacklist (checksum or barcode or something like that) and in that case it should be easy to fix it - although I think a new disk would/will be needed...
-
Not that bad... I only have one US game which I already played through... But I might buy US game later on for Wii... So I would really need a FreeLoader for Wii Games EDIT: Has anyone tried the Disc swapping trick (I never did that one, so I don't know if I am fast enough or not)..?
-
I hope that there will be soon a FreeLoader that supports GameCube games AND Wii games and furthermore be updateable (so it can be updated after or previous to a firmware-update to make it working again)...
-
Nope... It seems that Freeloader isn't working anymore.. You get a "strange" error message (I mean how often do you get as error message that an "error" occured? ...
-
Do FreeLoaders still work after the Update? Also: Is there now a setting included to automatically start games when you insert them (especially interesting for GameCube-Games).
-
Doesn't really matter... Just wanted to know...
-
Does Metroid Prime feature some normal Multiplay-Mode (e.g. Coop or whatsoever) - I know there is no Online Multiplay-Mode but that doesn't mean there is no normal offline one..?
-
So do I get this right... this time there will be coop and team vs. computer modes too? Will there be also a team vs. team mode? Will four persons be able to play this game at the same time and if so... even in coop?
-
@thirtynine: Well: Yeah, but it still isn't included in newest firmware, is it?
-
What I always wondered: Why is there no option/setting in the firmware to autostart Wii and Gamecube games once you insert them or if you had them already inserted during startup..? Especially for GameCube games it would be nice... I mean: You plug-in your control, insert the disk, choose disk-channel and click start with Wiimote and once that is done the Wiimote powers off...
-
Yeah Bubble Bobble is a great game but I don't know what that video (Bomberman Land) has to do with it Anyway: I hope that game makes it to the VC too...
