  1. Do we? When was that mentioned? In this Nintendo Direct?
  2. I agree with you mostly but surely they could at least be rolling out some of their other IPs. Metroid, F-Zero, Starfox are all IPs that they have stored away. And though Mario games don't confine the genres, it does confine the story telling. There's only so much you can do set in the Mario universe. Edit: I should mention that the only thing I disliked in this Nintendo Direct was the LttP2 art style. I'm happy about everything else!
  3. From what I saw of LttP2 I thought the same. Hopefully it's not using final art assets.
  4. Looks like I won't be getting this now. Zavvi have just emailed me saying there has been a payment problem. I used my PayPal account. I've just looked and they tried to charge me for it months ago but then refunded it, thus closing the pre-order status. I don't think it's possible to get it for £30 anywhere, so looks like I'll be missing out! Might force me to finish Luigi's Mansion 2 though
  5. May PlayStation Plus content for the Vita: 8th May: Sine Mora 15th May: Velocity Ultra HD
  6. Damn, I thought I had this Saturday to go down to my local. Do they leave their machine on over night? No way I can make it to an open store before/after work.
  7. We've already got quite a lot of 3DS games announced for this year. I'm expecting release dates for those than anything else really.
  8. @Ike @londragon The Luigi's Mansion 2 survey on Club Nintendo is now working.
  9. I'm one of those who think that rare items should be used rather than just stored. Don't buy for profit, buy for the history and actually make use of the items!
  10. Two times my browser has crashed when trying to type up this post. I'm just going to summarise what I put now The GameCube to Wii Remote adaptor arrived today. I've done some tests and here are the results for anybody interested. Test Equipment: N64/PS1/PS2/Wii Classic Controller to GameCube adaptor GameCube to Wii Remote adaptor Wii U White 'Launch' Wii Remote RVL-003 Gold 'The Legend of Zelda' Wii Remote Plus RVL-036 with SYNC button on the inside. Black Wii Remote Plus RVL-036 with SYNC button on the outside. Black N64 Controller NUS-005 Black GameCube Controller DOL-003 Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U Edition (Wii U) Paper Mario (N64 VC running under Wii Mode on the Wii U) GCN Controller -> GCN to Wii Adaptor -> Wii Remote Everything works fine on all three of my Wii Remotes. All the buttons on the Classic Controller are emulated except from ZL. There's no noticeable lag. It's impossible to remap the buttons. N64 Controller -> N64 to GCN Adaptors -> GCN to Wii Adaptor -> Wii Remote This does not work if you plug the N64 adaptor into the GCN adaptor before plugging it into the Wii Remote. The Wii Remote seems to lock up and become unresponsive. It works reliably with my gold Wii Remote if the N64 adaptor is attached after plugging the GCN adaptor into the Wii Remote. There's no noticeable lag. It works unreliably with my black Wii Remote. Most of the time the GCN adaptor just flashes as if attempting to connect but it never does. It never works with my white Wii Remote. From these results I couldn't recommend this setup to anybody else trying to achieve what I am. I'll just have to remember to use my gold Wii Remote with it (which has it's own problems). There are probably other solutions out there (like the Canadian ones in my original post) which work better. I was expecting there to be issues but I expected it to either work or not work. Not that there'd be differences across three Wii Remotes (two of which should be the same!). I'm guessing it's mostly caused by the additional power drain. If I were better with electronics I'd open up the N64 adaptor and try to determine where the power was being drawn off. When it does work I've enjoyed using it. I'm finally able to play my N64 VC games as intended! So while it's a bit awkward, it's worth the hassle to me. I'm still planning on getting the MayFlash NES/SNES adaptor. I'll post the results for that once I've received and tested it.
  11. I like buying Collector's Editions of games I expect to like but I'm fully aware that they're not special in the slightest. I guess the 'rarest' thing I have is a SNES Wii Classic Controller from Club Nintendo. As much as I love it, it's hardly rare. The current item that I want, which I'd call rare, is the Japanese exclusive gold nunchuk. Drives me mad that I don't have one to match the Legend of Zelda Wiimote+.
  12. Be careful with that. That's how I ended up falling out with them. I spent credit I had on my account and then a few weeks later they debited my card without mentioning it to me.
  13. Gameplay actually ran the GAME and Gamestation online services from 2004 and I had excellent service from them on all three sites. Really they've only been shut down in name. It was pointless to have three shops all doing the same thing (hello The Hut group!). With ShopTo they once removed money from my account without prior authorisation and when I contacted their service helpline they didn't want to know about it. I have, however, started to use them again very recently. I really don't like their policy of one click pre-ordering. That needs to be more secure. I'm also not overly impressed with how their T&Cs say that if you pay for an item up front they will only ever refund you with credit.
  14. Same here. I tried it just before I posted and it's still doing it though.
  15. Anybody else having issues completing the survey for this on Club Nintendo?
  16. Just got Black Sabbath gig tickets for Birmingham. Awwwwesome. Stupidly expensive though. £55 ticket price and then an extra £10 in fees.
  17. A bit concerned that it's a change in developer but I'm still hoping it turns out well. Now to see what they do with the Wii U GamePad so I can decide between it or the PC version. Edit: Waaaait there! I completely missed that there is going to be a 3DS/Vita sequel. That sounds really interesting. As a big fan of the 2D Metroid games, I may even say it sounds more interesting than Arkham Origins.
  18. I think the official reason was "to ensure that they were quick enough".
  19. The memory card pricing is still stupid. They must realise how damaging it is to be charging this much. I'm in the situation at the moment where I have a 4GB and an 8GB card. I use the 4GB for saves/DLC for cartridge games and the 8GB to hold PSN purchases. Though that's nowhere near enough. I have to backup all the purchases on the PS3/PC and swap them around as needed. With how much per GB they cost it's almost insulting how big the patches for games are. I think the patch for PS All Stars was something like 800MB. They're putting the DLC in so that you can still play online. They really should make it an optional free download rather than a mandatory patch.
  20. Turns out this has been cancelled on the Wii U after all. Anybody really surprised?
  21. Just an update to my quest. I ended up purchasing a Classic Linker N64 which allows you to plug in Dualshock 1/2, Wii Classic Controller and most importantly an N64 controller into a Gamecube. As I've already transferred all my Wii VC purchases to my Wii U and Nintendo don't have any type of account system, I can only speak about it working with GameCube games. Things to note: It supports rumble on the N64 Controller and Dualshock 1/2. It's possible to remap any of the buttons on the N64 controller (though I question it's usefulness as it forgets when power is cut). You have to connect the one controller you want to use prior to switching on the GameCube. The controller does NOT work in the GameCube menu. Is useless in games where the analogue GameCube triggers are used. The Dualshock button map has the O set to the GameCube A. This may feel awkward to those who are used to using X as the 'Accept' button. Obviously none of that information is much use to me because I'm trying to get a N64 Controller to work with the Wii/Wii U VC but I wanted to post it up incase anybody else was looking for information on the product. I've also ordered the item that @Serebii mentioned. When it arrives I'll post up the results of trying to plug this N64 -> GCN adapter into the GCN -> Wii adapter. After that I'll look to order a NES -> Wii. Most likely this http://mayflash.com/Products/NINTENDOWiiGC/W005.html
  22. This arrived today. I'm not sure if it's because I've been playing on my PC a lot recently but the load times are annoyingly long. It's really ruining the experience for me.
  23. Completed this today. Really really enjoyed it.
  24. Ever since the VC launched on the Wii I've been really interested in seeing if there's a way to play games as they were intended. Since the Wii U VC still supports the Wiimote & Classic Controller my interest has been rekindled. I managed to get the official Nintendo SNES Wiimote add-on through the Stars Catalogue. As the Wiimote offers 'acceptable' button placement compared to the NES, my next target is the N64 controller. After looking around I've found this site. They look like they offer the best adapters available. Has anybody here bought one from Raphnet Technologies? Can anybody recommend any alternatives? And does anybody know how badly I'll be stung with import duty/fees ordering from Canada?
  25. Other than the random stuff I've bought when the stars were expiring, I've had Metroid Prime 2, Animal Crossing, SNES controller for Wii, Mario family statue and a red Pikmin. I think they have quite good stuff in there. Those Mario Kart trophies were nice too but I didn't have enough stars to get the set. Considering none of the other companies have a rewards program we can hardly complain. You can buy hundreds of pounds of stuff from them and get nothing at all.
