Yeah the Playstation Move controllers work quite well considering they're 'ancient' in the tech world. I have issues with the PSVR tracking in general, but nothing specific to the Move controllers. On a controller-related note I'm a bit gutted that HTC didn't show off the new Vive controllers at CES. The current Vive controllers are fine but you still have the sensation of holding something. The new ones are attached to your hand so you can have an open palm.

You can do it well under an hour if you're skipping all the cut scenes. I did it prior to posting the message just in case I decide to buy the DLC myself.

Weirdly I can't get this to work when plugged into the front HDMI on my Denon AVR-X4200W. I checked it on a rear HDMI and it works perfectly, and other devices work in the front HDMI, so I have no idea what's up with it. Anybody else had similar issues?

I received RIGS as a Christmas present and yeah... it makes me feel really really sick. I only played it for thirty minutes as well. Even though it's been ten minutes since I finished playing I still feel dodgy. I don't think I'm suited for seated VR games. In other news, I've been playing Arizona Sunshine and it's really good. It's the first VR game, that I've played, that actually feels like a proper game. If you have a HTC Vive, I really recommend it.
-
Yeah I'm gutted it's not coming out on the Wii U anymore. That's the platform I'd pledged for. If they manage to get it ready so it's released on the same day for the Switch I guess it's not too bad though.
-
Ooooh this is interesting. A third party has worked with HTC to make a 'wireless upgrade kit'. It's pricey but it's cheaper than having to replace the entire device.

I played through The Last of Us on the PS3, which I'm guessing was running at 30fps anyway, so I've not noticed it being any more sluggish in 4k. Just played a bit of Infamous First Light and it looks amazing. The machine is a little bit noisier than the old one. But it is having to work hard, so that's understandable. --- I wasn't going mad, it seems there is a difference for Batman VR without any additional patch.
-
If anybody ends up in a similar situation to me I can confirm that this cable successfully passes all the needed 2160p60 + HDR data when plugged into the amp and the correct VR data when plugged into the VR breakout box. I was having no luck at all using HDMI couplers.
-
Ah so Batman VR hasn't been updated. Well I gave it a go anyway, must be the placebo effect because the edges of the screen didn't seem as blurry. DriveClub VR will have to wait until the weekend now Tracking is still terrible. I wonder if it's because I'm using Gen 1 camera.
-
I have Batman, so I'll give that a whirl now... Well once the PS4 transfer has finished.
-
Which VR games have received a Pro profile? If it's any of the games that I have, I can give it a try and see what's changed.

The PlayStation VR breakout box not supporting HDR is a massive annoyance now. Why the hell did they not make it HDMI 2.0a HDCP 2.2 compatible, it's not like the PS4 Pro was a surprise to them? Update: It takes me thirty minutes to swap over the cables because of how my PS4 is installed. I can't even find any HDMI switches which correctly pass through 2160p60 and HDR. So it pretty much means for me it's going to take longer to setup than the Vive. Ugh! Those grids can be disabled or dimmed.

I too was waiting for a Dementium sale. How did they manage to miss the Halloween sale though?!

I had a NES when I was very young with the first three Mario games and Excitebike. I may have had more but those are the ones I remember. I can't even remember what year this was. It would have been before '95 so I would have been less than 5 years old. Then one day I came home from school and it had been given away. I was gutted. I had to go back to playing on the ZX Spectrum. A year or so after that, every so often I would borrow my now-brother-in-law's SNES. Super Metroid, Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting, Starwing, Mortal Kombat II and Super Mario All-Stars are the games I remember playing on that. Then in April 2000, after saving up since October 1999, I managed to buy a GameBoy Colour with Pokemon Red & Blue. This is the first Nintendo console that I actually consider to have owned for myself.
-
No because the headphone out on the PSVR cable has to be used. The breakout box is doing the positional audio I believe.
-
You have a point there. I have practically no room for a vertical console.

It has real analogue sticks so that's good to see and they're in the right place! I can't tell if those a real analogue triggers on the back or if it's just really curved digital buttons. I know why the dpad has gone but it's still a shame we're losing it (edit: just seen the Pro controller will still have it). I'll miss the clamshell-dualscreen design but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Do we know if it has a touchscreen at all? If it is, it doesn't look like the resistive type so DS games won't ever play perfectly on it. USB ports on the Switch Dock. So maybe it'll be possible to use a HDD when in the dock and transfer it to the Switch itself for digital games. A bit weird that they showed a lot of a game from a few years ago. But getting Bethesda on board in any capacity is a massive plus. Not to mention all the Nintendo games looked great! Wish they hadn't called the controllers Joy-Cons though.

Currently £30 at Base if anybody is looking to pick it up.

I played through all of Arkham VR today. I did finish it feeling like I'd paid for a demo but it's one of the best experiences I've played in VR. Which is really weird considering I don't find the PlayStation VR hardware to be very good. The headset lets in a lot of light for me no matter how I position it. While I can tell the resolution is lower than the Vive, it only really bugged me when playing 2D games in Cinema Mode. Finally, and arguably most importantly, the tracking is absolutely pants. I can't see how this is going to work long term without multiple cameras or a wider field of view. There are some positives, the headset wasn't uncomfortable to wear and setting everything up is relatively easy.

Oh man. The PSVR breakout box doesn't support HDR pass through. So will have to keep unplugging the HDMI cables to use HDR. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

Digimon World: Next Order ( PS4 Early 2017 )
V. Amoleo replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Other Consoles
This is excellent news. Here's hoping we get Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode at some point too! (It's too late for the PSP games we never got ) -
It probably doesn't help that another Sony division is readying up to release their first UHD Blu-ray player in 2017. So they probably don't want to cut into sales of that.
-
HDR is thrown around these days to mean that it uses the wider colour space (Rec. 2020). It's actually pretty amazing when all your equipment supports it. To me it's a bigger difference than HD to UHD, so I'm happy they're allowing it for all PS4s.
