I thought Fire Emblem Warriors was this year?

LOL! It is getting a 3DS port! Just announced in the Direct.

Were we expecting a new 3DS game?

I think the physical connectors are inside the rails. They charge from being connected to the Switch so there has to be some physical connection.

I wonder if the screen will use the NVIDIA Shield screen technology 'DirectStylus 2' which allows you to use a thin tipped stylus. It's still working within the bounds of a capacitive screen but, other than the squidgy end, I don't really notice the difference when using my Shield with it.

Just reading that Skylanders Imaginators on the Switch doesn't use a Portal of Power and that the Skylanders are scanned in at the same place as amiibos. Which is weird because Skylanders are RFID and amiibo are NFC (which is a subset of RFID). It also says that the switch version of Imaginators won't support vehicles or traps.

I've mentioned this before in this thread: the Joy-Cons aren't suited to VR at all. They're not externally tracked, which is actually a step back from the Wiimote. The HD Rumble is just advanced haptics. Probably similar to what's in the Vive controllers.

Do we know if OoT Link is going to be restocked? Currently it's going for twice it's RRP.

Where have you seen screenshots of this? Fire Emblem actually has more than just warriors. So I'd expect it to be pretty similar to Hyrule Warriors.

Wikipedia says that all the audio has been redone from Turbo HD Remix but there's no source for it and a quick Google search brought nothing up relating to it. Will be a bit disappointing if it is just a port.

That's not really an excuse though, is it? It basically gives them free reign to charge you anything but it's okay because it's cheaper than something else unrelated. HOPEFULLY when we get more information on the online it won't sound as bad as it currently does. EDIT: While on the subject of online: Game are selling these. A couple of questions that I've thought about overnight: 1) Anybody who has used a JoyCon, how is the d-pad? I hadn't ordered a Pro Controller because, to be honest, the money I had assigned towards the Nintendo Switch hasn't gone as far as I expected. I thought I'd be okay but I've just remembered the d-pad is actually just four buttons to mirror the ABXY. 2) We know it can use MicroSD cards but do we know if it supports USB drives when docked? I had planned to buy a 200GB MicroSD like I use with my 3DS but it occurred to me that on the Wii U I'm using over 300GB of a 2TB USB HDD. So now I'm not sure which way to go. Do I need both? Would I get away with using a spare 128GB MicroSD in the Switch while buying a 2TB USB HDD to connect to the dock?

Why do the parental controls apply to the entire console rather than a child account? This better not mean the accounts system is going to be rubbish again.

The annoying thing is that these motion controllers are absolutely useless for VR because they have no relative positional data, that is to say they're not tracked externally. Which is a step back from the Wiimotes, which know their position based on the IR bar. So there's definitely no future in 'proper' VR for the Switch.

Didn't the Nintendo Official Store botch up a hardware release? I can't remember what it was though...

He's probably referring to how little the pound is worth these days. Rather than the actual exiting of the EU with the increased importing duties that we'll eventually have. You have to remember to add 20% for VAT, which brings it to £294. So we're not being ripped off there.

Is this exclusive to the Switch? Physical release or digital only?

Hyrule Warriors was great so I have high hopes for this. I'm guessing we have no chance of a 3DS port of this like we did Hyrule Warriors considering it being on the Switch.

I ended up waking up earlier to watch the Direct. I've since spent all day at work fuming. Why have they done this? Thirty minutes of motion controls followed by thirty minutes of games which won't be out anywhere near launch. Have we already got the 'launch window' bullshit that we got with the Wii U yet? I'm so disappointed. Even Super Mario Odyssey didn't look that interesting but that could be because I was so gutted/tired after what had already happened. The worst launch line up ever for a Nintendo console. That's even including Zelda, purely because it was a game which we were promised on the Wii U. The price is a joke too. And the RRP of the games had better be the usual pre-launch price gouging and not the RRP going forward. I don't like football but wasn't it rather ominous that Fifa was listed just as Fifa and not Fifa 18? This probably means the Frostbite engine doesn't work on the Switch. So that's every other EA game gone. I've gone from super hyped to being the least excited for a Nintendo console I've ever been. Obviously I still pre-ordered one as soon as it was up on Amazon this morning...

Weirdly when I open that YouTube link on my phone it says it's at 5am. But 8 hours from now is definitely 4am.

I'm so hyped up for tonight's Direct. Argh. Every time I tell myself to not get too excited but it happens anyway.
