    Iron Man

I grew to like Captain America after reading a few of the Ultimate Avengers comics then going back to the older Avengers issues. Because of the slightly more mature storytelling in the Ultimates line, it gave Cap a little more meat to his story and reason to like him that the early comics were incapable of doing. But after reading Ultimates, I understood at last what they were getting at. Oh and Haver, my apologies that one of the most entertaining movies I've ever been fortunate enough to see does not meet your expectations for art in motion. Everyone has a right to their opinion, and normally yours is quite interesting to read, but for some unfathomable reason, you've got a downer on this one, and I'm sorry.
  3. Signed up, just want to know where to go on Nisute.

    Iron Man

Just saw this movie again. Simply awesome.
  5. Good you think that's bad? I've been getting aggressively more and more chinese as the months wear on! Some nerp on his moto nearly ran over my foot on the pavement, instead of shouting "hey, what the hell?" I squealed "Ai, ma-ta, gan ma ya?" and ran after him. Had a nice little argument that ended with my fist about an inch from his face, and we both went off happy and unbruised. Then the other day this girl was in my assigned seat on the bus, I told her to show me her ticket (in chinese) and she was all like "Sorry foreigner, me no speak the bad Chinese like you" so I "got the bus driver on her" and he made her apologise to me for stealing my seat. Turns out she hadn't bought a ticket either, so they called the police. Mwa ha ha.

    Iron Man

Iron Man has been the only movie where I actually believe the actor really is in the skin of the character - I never liked Tobey Whatsisface as Peter Parker, I thought Eric Bana was far too charisma-less to be on the screen full stop, and Nicholas Cage was just...awful as Ghost Rider.
  7. Stinking cold. Again. Temperature is about 27 outside and 30 inside but I feel like I'm walking in a block of ice. Purchased a new book, had a foot massage (thoroughly recommended) went shoe shopping, had a pizza and now I'm waiting to go see Iron Man again later. It would be so much better if I wasn't staring at a 14 hour working day tomorrow, but them's the breaks.
  8. Where do you live and what time is the house empty? Seriously though, that is some amazing kit! How did you even obtain that in the first place? I saw a cool Minish Cap phone strap in Xujiahui today, but seeing as I hate my mobile phone and I'm always trying to lose it, there didn't seem any point in buying it.
  9. Oh right, in which case I'll have to say my original DS which was sent to me by Nintendo as a thankyou for a job I did for them prior to launch. I had one well ahead of the peeps using the VIP site. Still use it, still love it, wouldn't change it for the world.
  10. Interesting use of the Legends series 1 figure! I have two of the yellows plus the gold variant MOC. I really have to get to buying the new figures now. Any volunteers to send me the stuff from England? No? Damn... Forbidden Planet it is!
  11. No but I shall when I can get Youtube to load properly! Yes, but stap me vitals, it was cool to look at.
  12. You bet your candied white-man ass I have it! I also have the TV series 1994 Stealth Armour, which is quite similar apart from the size and articulation. I paid a pretty penny for the former (£45+) and a mere £2.99 for the latter. The Hulkbuster armour is kind of cool, but the figurine renditions don't seem to do it much justice. Plus the comic in which it was used against the Hulk was not that memorable. But the armour itself does rock like no-ones business. Interestingly enough, th original Stealth Armour only had enough power for 3 repulsor shots.

Fingers crossed that the sequels are just as enjoyable. ^-^

    Iron Man

Incorporating his alcoholism would be faithful to only a small part of the comics. And it was fantastic. Really, really enjoyed it. Plenty to do in the next one and the characters very well established. I've been waiting years for them to make this film, and I have to say I was disappointed initially with the choice of director, supporting cast and even some of the story ideas. But I have no shame in admitting I was wrong. No-one is saying that it should win an Oscar for writing or anything, but it really was streets ahead of the first Spiderman film, Xmen, Ghostrider and the Hulk.

    Iron Man

Understood. I have a similar problem with Spiderman and Wolverine, I find that they are overused and overstated as characters. When they were brought into the New Avengers I was extremely disappointed. I know people who buy a comic with Spiderman or Wolverine in it regardless of the star, and lap it up even if it's a load of old balls. It kinda reminds me of internet jokes, particularly Trogdor. Yes, he was funny. Now shut up about it. Back to topic: I literally could not sleep last night because of waiting for this! So excited! 12 hours to go!

    Iron Man

Just got to point out: the origin story for Batman and Iron Man are not the same, originally Tony Stark invented the Armour as a way of keeping his heart beating - he literally could not take the chest-piece off at any moment in the early comics. And in a way, there's a sense of redemption in the lines: he's a weapons manufacturer that advances his own suit that he uses to fight with. Batman is just unbalanced.

    Iron Man

Benefit of China: 8 seats cost a mere £32. Plus for a short while I was considering hiring the whole screen for 4500 RMB - about £300. Decided against it in the end, obviously... but still ... Damn right it'll be worth it! Plus there are more toys for me to collect... then I have to ship my whole collection here from England. Eventually.

    Iron Man

s you well know, I have for several years been battling accusations from the press, members of the public and several figures in my private life... accusations that I am not who I say I am, that I lead a double life of sorts, one as the expansive entrepreneur surrounded by gorgeous Chinese ladies and wealth. The other... something darker, deeper... On May the 2nd, the world will know the truth, that I am DEFINITELY NOT Iron Man. ROBERT DOWNEY JR IS! Thank heck I can finally put that rumour to rest, now I am looking forward to a new era of peace in my life, undisturbed by the myriad of supervillains that have plagued my existence since these ugly lies reared their ugly heads. I'll be able to walk out every day, safe in the knowledge that I don't have to carry my life-sustaining armour ch... safe in the knowledge that Robert Downey Jr will be getting hassled instead. On a more serious note: I am going to see the advanced screening tomorrow, and there is a little part of me that wants to go to the midnight preview tonight... but... no... mustn't... must... sleep... Argh! I've booked 8 seats for this: two in front of me, one either side and two behind, so I don't get disturbed. Like this. Because any seat-back-kickers, "Oh, it's-him-from-that-other-movie-what-was-it-called"-ers, whiny little children or people with noisy food WILL be blasted with my repulsor r...will be taught that you don't mess with Iron M... I'll call the usher.

  20. That was what I was... oh, never mind. And anyway, why are they called "civil" servants? Some of them are downright rude! Arf!

  22. Solitanze seems to have buggered off for now too.
  23. Agreed on the national holiday part - in China there's a holiday every couple of months lasting up to a week, sometimes just a few days. But England gets the royal shaft with all those crappy Bank Holidays and we don't even get the Queen's Birthday off. I wonder if the Queen still gets the Royal Shaft?
