  1. Denpa Men 2 Beyond The Waves confirmed for Australia/Europe! (As if there was much doubt) http://www.classification.gov.au/Pages/View.aspx?sid=ev7v8i6%2bEAlnpQmoPCqPIw%253d%253d&ncdctx=4sNN9BHf2Qgy304DW6dVgj3X%2b6Nh%252fVMKjUeHUH9HXeBfFrnEv99rCjclIA3cmbnN
  2. Is it me or is Caedeus much harder in this game than in Tri? I've failed 4 times on this quest now! (First 3 times I failed to get into area 3 and the last time I failed to rout him, despite hitting him with the dragonator twice and breaking off one of his horns) Funny how all the single player monsters seem much easier than their original Tri counterparts, but I just can't beat Caedeus! UGH!
  3. Ooh! Looks like there's some extra content in the 3DS version! http://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Nintendo-3DS/Donkey-Kong-Country-Returns-3D-746102.html I don't imagine that it would be much new (or else they'd be shouting about it from the rooftops), so I'd bet on it being a Boss Rush mode and hopefully a couple of new levels. If they do include some new levels, I hope one of them is that cancelled Virtual Boy themed level! Would be awesome to see that level get brought back from the dead!
  4. I guess the Letterbox update got lost in the post?
  5. Well at least he wasn't lying about the Wii U version being the definitive one
  6. Man I'd love to see them do some discounts on retail download games. There's quite a few I'd consider picking up in digital form (hi Mario Tennis Open and MH3U!) if they could knock off at least £20 from the asking price... Also where the hell is my downloadable version of Theatrhythm!?
  7. That's a pretty safe bet
  8. Maybe the stuff announced at that last Wii U Nintendo Direct was originally planned for GDC?
  9. Yeah it was. Dunno what happened there
  10. The games themselves weren't actually announced, just that Nintendo would be assisting in getting Japanese 3rd party 3DS games released in the west; with at least 10 games due to arrive over here. I'd imagine that BDFF is one of them as it's one of the biggest JPN only titles (though I'd also bet on that list including Monster Hunter 4, Dragon Quest 7, Fantasy Life, Layton 6 and Layton VS AA)
  11. Was planned for localisation at least. With the recent change of guard at the top of S-E and layoffs at S-E LA, I would've been a bit more cautious than Siliconera regarding celebrations... Though mind you though, one other guy on GAF was saying how Nintendo were involved in getting the game localised and released in Europe at the least (which seems plausible, given Iwata's new initiative in getting JPN 3DS games released in the west) and that probably wouldn't be affected by a change in CEO, as it would probably be risk free for S-E, so...
  12. What, again? How many times have they died now? I've lost count! So sad to see the name being lost and their legacy being thrown into the Disney vault
  13. If they don't announce any new release dates this month (most likely through a Nintendo Direct) you can count out anything else coming out until July. Speaking of which, I was expecting Game & Wario to come out this month in the west. What the hell would make the localisation take so long!? Surely they're not intentionally holding back a finished game to space out the releases until July!? They need games now, not in 3 months time!
  14. Jesus Christ that's just miserable to look at . Poor Game & Wario (DQX probably did a significant amount of its sales via the eShop, due to the half price offer to people who owned the Wii version so I'll reserve judgement on that one). I don't know what Nintendo is gonna do to get momentum going for the console now. There's nothing on the nearby horizon that can give the platform a boost (no, I don't think that Pokemon Rumble U is gonna cut it) and a price drop would do nothing without software to back it up. Thank God that the 3DS is doing well (as is LM2 and that unstoppable beast known as Animal Crossing New Leaf, cause I'm at a loss at how they can fix the Wii U's short-term prospects...
  15. HR 70!? My near 50 hours spent on just getting to HR3 (and the Ancient Mask in single player) feels so pitiful lol!
  16. I'm sure it is a factor. That's no doubt why they have the 3,000 message limit in the first place. Speaking of which, I've run out of space now . I feel sad every time a message gets taken away from me when a new one comes in (of course, I favourited all of Nikki's messages so that I'll never lose them )
  17. Wouldn't you still have the 3,000 letter limit in place anyway? Shouldn't that prevent any memory issues by itself?
  18. Of course it did. There have been mass shortages since launch; Amazon only just got the 3DS version back in stock today (and have even slapped an extra £5 on the price tag! http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00B5Q83LG/ref=twister_dp_update?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) Meanwhile it's storming the eShop charts (just behind Luigi's Mansion 2 this weekend) Nice to see LCS and LM2 doing fairly well though
  19. Nice list of new features Though I still don't see an option to reply more than once to a message (seriously, after all this time I STILL can't do that!? That's my No1 issue with Letterbox!)
  20. Is it weird that I wouldn't have put it past them to actually put that up as an April Fools joke?
  21. Touche... Even though it's still basically a sequel to Face Raiders in disguise...
  22. New trailer! The gameplay doesn't look to be a big departure from the original (partners and train protecting seem to be the biggest new additions), but it looks nice. Speaking of the partners, my god they look just so freaking cool!
  23. Cool, but I wish that there were actual AR games to go along with it. I loved those little AR games that were included with the 3DS originally and they've done pretty much nothing with it since, other than taking silly pictures! Spirit Camera and Tetris 3DS are the only games to incorporate AR for actual gameplay. Why can't we have some more!?
  24. Well when I'm talking about movie games and a focus on graphics over gameplay, I'm referring to the major publishers and big developers like EA rather than the indie devs who make awesome stuff like the games you mentioned. These big devs could've developed Wii versions of games that utilised the Wii's motion controls to provide an enhanced gameplay experience that couldn't be done on other consoles if they cared to do so, but that's not their bread and butter. They want to deliver experiences, targeted towards 12-25 year old frat boys that make them feel awesome and graphics play a big role in delivering those experiences.
  25. If developers wanted to, they could have made their games run on Wii with downgraded graphics. They didn't want to because Nintendo's vision for the industry does not fit with the types of games/quasi-interactive movies they want to make and the major publishers' desire to kill off the little guys by raising the minimum budget standard. Those major multiplatform titles couldn't sell on Wii because they weren't available on Wii (though in some cases where the Wii did get multiplatform titles, like Rayman Origins, Tiger Woods, Guitar Hero and Rock Band, the Wii version was actually the best selling one). Now the specs gap is much smaller this time around (and indeed, the Wii U is currently the most powerful console available) and yet it STILL doesn't get any support outside of Ubisoft and Activision - not even multiplatform PS360 games, which it could very easily run! The decision to not make Wii U versions of games like Tomb Raider or GTA5 would've been made long before the console came out (they did announce the console back in 2011, so it's not like developers didn't know about the machine's existence or couldn't get access to dev kits), so it's not a matter of games getting cancelled due to poor sales (Crysis 3 being a possible exception, but I would think that more likely to be due to EA's failed attempt to make Origin the Wii U's exclusive online service) Nintendo has never been liked by western developers/publishers in general as they philosophically do not match up with the western gaming industry by and large.
