Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone's Conspiracy (2017)
Dcubed replied to Ike's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Western release targeted for next year, and we have an official English title! Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone's Conspiracy. Now the dog sidekick makes sense (and I feel stupid for not clocking onto it sooner :p ) -
Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone's Conspiracy (2017)

I literally said exactly the same thing earlier on myself. So much potential for "You have your Father's eyes" jokes... -
Well this rumour is basically pointing to it being a Wii U in reverse, so Then again, that's assuming that the whole thing isn't actually total bunk anyway :p
-
It's always possible that handheld play might be a single screen affair, while the home console experience uses two screens in tandem (ALA Wii U). The report did say that the "brain" of the unit would connect to the dock; that doesn't necessarily mean that the screen itself would have to be... Perhaps the "brain" is actually a unit that can be disconnected from the screen itself, and when you do, the screen just becomes a dumb terminal that streams video from the base unit, like the Wii U Gamepad. Perhaps the screen can be used as a Wii U Gamepad when playing on TV, while disconnecting activates "Off TV" play? Iwata did say that the NX was supposed to absorb the Wii U archtecture after all...

Not in your wildest dreams. Not even the New3DS lasts that long! Even the highest end phones and tablets barely last 3 hours while playing games and those things are physically around 90% pure battery! Expect 3 hours at best and that's if we're lucky.

Very pleasantly surprised to see that it's not just F2P mobile junk. There's still a bit of good left in this world it seems Now we just have to hope that it gets brought out in the west before the 3DS dies completely... Given Level 5's track record though, I don't hold out much hope... Bit concerned about the potential quality of the puzzles though, what with Akira Tago's death and all... -
BTW, the console portion doesn't necessarily have to come out at the same time as the handheld... Just sayin'

Tegra does sound plausible. Not only does it seem to fit the power profile that Nintendo are aiming for, but Nintendo actually were originally planning on partnering with N-vidia for the 3DS, utilising an earlier version of Tegra, so there is a previous working relationship to consider here. But Iwata specifically said that the NX wasn't going to be a hybrid. So either this info is bunk, or something big is missing here... That base unit... Something tells me that there's more than meets the eye here. If this is real, I bet that there's some extra hardware in that thing; perhaps even a Wii U GPU/CPU for supplementary processing (and backwards compatibility). Perhaps it's related to the NX's new gameplay gimmick... Something akin to Valve's Lighthouse tech perhaps? Also how does the whole touch screen thing work if the handheld is docked and (presumably) out of reach when playing on the TV? How do you have games that use the touchscreen on both handheld and console if the touchscreen is inaccessible when playing on the TV? That's a pretty big ? right there! This sounds like a series of half truths. We're not getting the full picture here I reckon. I'm still waiting on my Mother 3 localisation...

??? Have I fallen into an alternate dimension again? What has she gotten right in recent times? Paper Mario Wii U? That was leaked a whole year before she even said anything!
-
Oh yeah, IN! this week

Hopefully they come with reversible boxes without the awful border. Nice to see these games get retail releases! (Also, 8 new courses for FRN! Woo!) Nintendo should've done this years ago; would've rounded out their retail lineup nicely and helped to prevent the lack of retail presence for Wii U but alas... Hopefully they stick with this from now on and carry it on as standard with exclusive independently developed NX titles!

Because her "leaks" are usually wrong?

Wahey! Let the TG16 cavalcade begin! Come on The Legendary Axe! Come on Ys 3!
-
It's up! YYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! @RedShell has once again made you all look fabulous. He's such a nice guy! He'd clearly never do anything unsportsmanlike

Me and Glen-i are joining you! Hold tight!

Oh, I sometimes use Charge Blade. Gaijin hunter has a good tutorial vid for MHG with it... It's kinda hard to get to grips with, but it's a really versatile weapon

I'ma just gonna post this here... 07:39-07:50 is the stuff of legends

Kinda creepy how you basically predicted Sonic Mania
-
Crazy to think that this is basically an official fangame! Congrats to Headcannon/Stealth and Mr Whitehead! Though I do have to question why it's not slated for Nintendo systems. I mean, Sonic's biggest audience is there! Edit: Oh my God! Just started catching up to the stream, what the hell is this!? Getting Konami 2010 vibes from this

Interesting to see an NX announcement here. It would be a tremendous shame if it played more like Generations/Colours than Lost World. LW was a tragically misunderstood game, with some really good and solid gameplay (just taught really poorly to the player) while Unleashed/Colours/Modern Sonic basically plays itself and only half of Generations is even worth playing

This is actually a good point. A lot of the difficulty from the earlier games was kinda artificial (Plesioth, Hip Check, need I say more?). Tri really stepped up the game hugely. It was so much more polished than the previous games that it wasn't even funny (they mentioned in the Iwata Asks for it how they rebuilt the entire game engine from scratch for Tri; it shows - and they've been building on the Tri engine ever since for a good reason). Though that being said, the difficulty of 3 Ultimate was indeed brought down a bit from Tri. Deviljho for example didn't do nearly as much damage to you as he did in Tri (Savage Deviljho is a different matter of course though). But a lot of it also comes down to experience. We're obviously much better at the games now than we were back then, so that probably comes into play a bit as well. The addition of things like the Target Cam also help make things more manageable as well, even though it doesn't make the game easier in of itself. The newer games are probably easier for newcomers than Tri was (I'd say that Tri is the hardest in the series as far as pure difficulty is concerned, ignoring the jankiness of MH Gen 1 and 2), but probably not to as huge an extent as you might think. Experience counts for a lot.

And MPFF/Blast Ball is a spiritual successor to Metroid Prime 3, a game that came out in... ... Err... forget I said anything! We cool guys! Heh... heh...
-
The funny thing with people everywhere online calling it a Rocket League ripoff, is that its public announcement actually predates Rocket League :p
-
Well there's a nice surprise! I'm downloading that as soon as I get home from work for sure! Good idea for them to put this out before launch. Hopefully it'll help combat the negative campaign against Federation Force!

With this surprise reveal of a substantial content update for ACNL (being an obvious substitute for a cancelled Wii U AC game being ported to NX), I expect AC NX to be either a launch title or to come out within the first year.
