  1. Can we all just step back for a moment and appreciate just how much this game's name sounds like a bad, edgelord fan game?
  2. You're not helping your argument by bringing those disasterpieces up
  3. On topic... Play stupid games, win stupid prizes indeed. That's small potatoes really. The whole reason why they've gone and invested so much into their APIs that they provide to developers is because they know that cost will be absorbed and offset by the 30% charge. Same business model that keeps the console industry going; the model that Nintendo invented. Without the platform royalties, there's no point in even making a platform for 3rd party developers at all.
  4. Just heard that 3D All Stars has been made by NERD (The same team behind the NES/SNES mini consoles and the NES/SNES NSO service). So that explains what they've been working on. We're getting this instead of Nintendo 64 Nintendo Switch Online. Also explains why this is a bit of a strange product in general for Nintendo. They don't normally do straight, native ports like this. Fun fact, this is the first time they've ever put out a retail product that is entierly of their own making! (They've previously worked on parts of retail titles though, like Brain Training Switch's finger tracking, or Labo VR's head tracking, or Ring Fit Adventure's heart rate sensing).
  5. I think Nintendo need to do a price cut soon; but not quite yet. If they do an Animal Crossing NH bundle, they'll still clean up this Xmas season; despite the next-gen competition. ACNH really is that strong. The price cut will most likely come in March 2021; which might also be when they announce Switch 2/Pro.
  6. The latter isn't being made by EPD (and neither is the former).
  7. I'm in for the Series S now. Can't argue with the price; especially with Gamepass. It's the biggest bargain in videogame history.
  8. That 30% covers the costs of all of the development tools & resources that the platform holder supplies you as a developer; as well as the developer kit costs, the store running costs and everything involved with building and maintaining a hardware platform & software ecosystem.
  9. BOTW2 is an asset reuse sequel (Like Majora's Mask & Spirit Tracks). If they wanted it out by now, it would've been out by now. There's absolutely no reason why it should be taking this long to make; they're not building it from scratch this time. They're clearly saving it for when Switch 2/Pro/Whatever launches.
  10. So this probably means that I was right; and that BOTW 2 has been pushed back to be a launch title for Switch 2. Calling it now. This game will be the only exclusive Zelda game to ever release on Switch.
  11. So... @Glen-i It's official! Hyrule Warriors is now canon!
  12. Wait what? That's not what I was expecting Breath of the Wild 2 to be!
  13. There's no chance of Sony coming close to the Series S price. Hell, they might not even be able to price match the Series X at $500, even with the Digital Only model (Microsoft are already taking a huge loss at that price that I don't think Sony can afford to match).
  14. I'm sure that's what Epic/Tencent wants. They want to basically take over the three console platforms and set them up as Epic Games Stores (basically exactly what EA tried to pull with Origin on Wii U); but it won't happen. They have no legal leg to stand on with this case.. They will get completely crushed by Apple, and rightly so. They are effectively trying to set up a shop inside someone else's shop. The courts are already laughing at them and will continue to do so. I have no doubt that Epic won't get anywhere with this stunt they're trying to pull. It would be basically the end of the console business model if it did happen.
  15. They've done similar things with their Office 365 subscriptions too. I got like 3 years worth when I last bought an external HDD! Free Onedrive has been a life saver for me!
  16. I literally just did this now lol! I can't believe I just got 3 years of Game Pass Ultimate for £120! Bonkers! Never thought I'd see myself buying another Xbox console, but here we go lol! I get Gamepass for the PC too out of this, so I'm pretty happy!
  17. If that turns out to be the case, it would actually be cheaper than buying the console outright lol. Most likely it'll be £25 per month.
  18. They're still losing money on Game Pass. And really, you'd have to be mad to not get Gamepass with this thing; it's (literally!) a steal. Microsoft will be bleeding incredible amounts of money on this console; like original Xbox levels of money. No doubt they will eventually raise the price of Game Pass (they will have to eventually, to make ANY sort of profit on it), but until then? They will be losing billions by doing this. No doubt they're playing the long game here; they want to eventually be making Office 365 levels of profit on Game Pass, but they're gonna be bleeding like mad to get to that point. Sony can't possibly match this pricing. They couldn't survive this level of bleeding.
  19. I still can't get over how insanely cheap this thing is!! It's mad!! They're even undercutting the Switch! They're practically giving it away! This is literally the cheapest a new console has been since the Wii! And then there's Game Pass! You literally don't even need to buy games for this thing! How is Microsoft planning to even make money on this thing!?
  20. Well it won't need the textures to be as high resolution if they aren't targetting 4K and above (That's why Smart Delivery exists). So there's your RAM savings right there. Also means that game file sizes should be smaller too, which is nice.
  21. No, it's much more powerful than the Xbox One X. It's the same system as the upcoming Series X, just that it's running games at a lower resolution (targetting 1440p instead of 4K-8K). You still get all the other benefits of the Series X (much better CPU, SSD, suspending games etc); the only downside being that games are rendered at a lower resolution, you lose the disc drive and that you get a 512GB SSD in the box instead of 1TB (Oh no! The horror!). It's also about 60% smaller than the Series X, which is very nice!
  22. So this WAS unplanned then? How much bloody longer were they planning on waiting!? They had clearly won the price game anyway. Sony's in a tight spot now though... How much are they willing to bleed to match the Series X now? (Microsoft are clearly taking a bath on the Series X price; and are basically exsanguinating with the Series S!). Surely there's no way they can hope to match these prices, so they might as well get the bad news over with...
  23. They already have discontinued the XboneS (and the XboneX). They discontinued them about 2 or so months ago.
  24. With most people buying this with Game Pass; that's exactly what they're no doubt expecting people to do. Either way, you're gonna have to do that with the Series X and PS5 anyway; not like there's a huge difference in SSD size. Much like the Basic Wii U VS the Premium Wii U, you're gonna have to buy additional storage anyway, so the Basic model is the better deal overall (sans pack-in game, but that's not relevent here).
  25. 512GB SSD. Knew there had to be a catch. That's still fantastic though! Not like that's gonna be a huge difference either way (Both are gonna be way too small anyway). Targetting 1440p? Not 1080p? That's surprising! Good luck with that.
