I bought Windows 8 just before the deal was due to expire and installed it... It's pretty good really! I'm not a power PC user or anything, 99% of my time is spent browsing the web, listening to music and chatting online through Skype and IRC. It's great being able to dock Windows 8 apps to the side of the desktop window, usually having a web browser open full screen in desktop mode with Skype or IRC on the side. Speaking of desktop mode, it runs a whole lot faster than Windows 7 which for me was worth the £25 Now I just need an iTunes app...

Actually when the 3DS downloads an update it'll ask you whether or not you want to install it, if you select no it'll ask you again the next time you open up the 3DS. Also if it's a retail game then as long as you don't install any 3DS updates you don't have to worry about not being able to run an exploit. Bit annoying but it's worth it if it leads to region free games. I was also considering getting a Japanese 3DS XL since I'd be more likely to play it at home but there aren't enough Japanese games for me to justify a purchase.

I'd love to have downloadable games but not at the price Nintendo charges for them, hope they start doing download codes soon! This game would be perfect for download since I only play it for about 20 minutes a time.

Nothing will top Gunstar Heroes for me though I haven't played many other Treasure titles. Ikaruga looks good but I'm not a big fan of shoot em ups

I wish the camera was more dynamic like in Smash Bros, right now even with all the characters bunched up they look really small. It's also really easy to lose track of your character because there aren't any names or player numbers above the characters. Online is a buggy mess and Radec and Kratos are way too strong and Sly Raccoon feels useless but hopefully these have been sorted out since we are playing a very old version of the game. I'll wait and see some reviews and pick it up on the cheap later

I ended up buying Let's Golf 3D, I'll let you know my thoughts soon. Edit: woah it took me 20 minutes to download the game, taking up 1523 blocks of my SD card. What's that in MB/GB? After playing it for about an hour the graphics and gameplay are passable. There don't seem to be any special shots like in Everybody's Golf or Pangya but instead you can charge up a character's special ability by playing well and then pressing Y once it's fully charged which lets you do things such as disabling wind for one turn, adding extra power & distance to your shot etc. The menus are pretty bad, it might be due to my SD card but loading takes forever and it's worst on the character select screen where there's a second pause whenever you switch between a character. The camera in this game ain't too bad although the controls are weird, you can pan the camera forwards and backwards with the X and B buttons and only once you've moved the camera as far forwards as it can go then you can zoom in and out with the L and R buttons. Also when putting you only have 3 camera options - behind the player, behind the hole and overhead view. There's no way to pan the camera about or zoom in and out which makes it hard to judge the slope of the green. The 3D in this game is barely noticeable, I couldn't tell the difference between 2D and 3D unless if there were trees around. There's plenty of stuff to do with a career mode which lets you unlock courses, characters, equipment and clothes for the characters. Clothes and equipment affect the characters' stats. Also just playing with the character gives them experience points which they can use to level up and increase their stats but the stat increases are automatic and AFAIK not random, still it gives you incentive to use every character. There's also a challenge mode which gives you special missions to complete, Free Hole mode which lets you explore courses by giving you unlimited swings. There's an instant mode if you just want a quick game of golf and 2 player mode by sharing the system though I haven't tried these 2 yet. If you want a game of golf and can't wait for Mario Golf and can get past the poor putting camera then it's worth the reduced price. I certainly wouldn't pay £5.40 for it though

You probably get an unlockable title for your Dog Tag for completing it on No Hope difficulty. The titles are basically like extra achievements

Aren't Nicalis the ones who are doing Cave Story? If that's anything to go by then we won't be seeing NightSky for at least 2 years... Also just checked eShop today and Let's Golf 3D by Gameloft is on sale this week for £1.79. Is it worth buying? I like Mario Golf, Everybody's Golf and Pangya so if it's anything like that then I'll probably enjoy it. Also it's normally £5.40 lol

It's just a demo right? They might just need some more time to fix the frame rate up though it is weird that the PS3 is struggling to run a 3DS game :p Does the PS3 version have 3DTV support?

Maybe they're having it really cheap since it's coming out around the same time as Call of Duty

Haven't read the topic fully so I might just be repeating stuff that has already been said I'm fine pressing the X button on Nintendo and Playstation controllers but when it comes to Xbox I get really confused and end up pressing A or Y lol. btw Xbox controller just copied the Dreamcast's layout. In Japan the O button on the Playstation is the main button so it matches Nintendo's A button lol not sure why it was changed to X when it came to Europe. Also I'm probably the only one who thought the GC pad was stupid, yeah there's a great big massive A button and a tiny B button and the X and Y buttons spread out so far apart making fighting games impossible to play on it

You say that like it's a bad thing Probably not. Leon's campaign is much better than it seems in the demo but Chris and Jake get a fair representation... Well actually Jake's demo doesn't show off the horrible driving or stealth sections in his campaign lol.

I liked Resident Evil 6, it's great fun especially in co-op. I can understand people who want a scary game being disappointed with RE6 but if you enjoyed RE5 then this game improves on that by a lot. If you don't like action games then try Resident Evil Revelations on the 3DS instead, it's basically classic RE done in a Resident Evil 4 style.
