Yeah, the AC input on the back of the Wii U is exactly the same shape as the Wii? Hmmm, do I risk my Wii AC adapter (I do have one), the Wii U uses has a max. of 75Watts, whilst the Wii was much much lower. Anybody?
-
Thanks. Oh, well it looks like I may try my luck with a voltage converter in the short term, and then buy a proper ac adapter when it becomes available. I've got a few weeks before it arrives here.

Hi all, Hoping that my UK Wii U will be sent soon. For those of you that do not know I live in Taiwan, formerly a UK resident. I exported a UK Wii U, so that I could have an English experience on the console (and I can pay for eShop games via an UK credit card etc.). I had a Japanese Wii and it was a bit of a nightmare, especially playing text heavy games like Zelda, and forget about calibrating Wii remote sensitivity in FPS games. Here's my conundrum; the UK Wii U comes packaged with AC adapters for both the Wii U console and the Gamepad. I take it that both of these power supplies are working at 240V/50Hz? Can someone check the bottom of them for me. I am really keeping my fingers crossed that they are for multiple electrical currencies, but then again the Wii Ac adapters were not. As you see, Taiwan runs on the American/Japanese electrical system of 110V/60Hz. I wrote a lengthy email to Nintendo UK expressing my concerns and got this reply from customer support: So, in summary they highly recommend the use of first party AC adapters, and I have looked everywhere, unsuccessfully at the current time. The USA Nintendo online store only deliver within their own country, and have a backlog of a few months. I have emailed them recently and am waiting for a response. It looks like it's going to be a waiting game, maybe for a 3rd party to start making them, but I have seen Nyko getting ready to launch a USB Gamepad cable, which may help me with that. Any ideas?

You've Got your Wii U - Talk about it/Show it off here
Londragon replied to Mokong's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Well, The HUt have shipped both my games (Batman and NintyLand), but still not the WiiU (ZombiU bundle), preordered with them on 14th September. Ah well, still can't complain. -
Has anybody seen much of a Wii U buzz?
Londragon replied to Rummy's topic in General Gaming Discussion
True, but Wii U was second on a long list of high-tech. -
I'll be downloading it if it's on the eShop.
-
My order for Batman: Arkham City: Armoured Edition has been shipped, from The Hut. Now the waiting game, takes about 2-3 weeks to get here. No news on the Wii U or NintendoLand yet.

Zavvii and The HUt; 22.95 pounds (damn Chinese keyboard has no pound sign)

That's a nice read, it's really good to see Iwata and Nintendo reaching out to embrace other development teams, to share philosophies, etc. Now, when do we get get to read the EA Iwata asks; Iwata: Good morning, and welcome to the new Iwata asks. Now EA personnel why have you changed your philosophy and made retarded buggy games for the Wii U? EA: Fuck you!

David, over at WiiUblog posted the file sizes of all the US eShop games, here: http://wiiublog.com/a-complete-list-of-download-sizes-for-wii-u-games-on-the-eshop/ And; Wow, Nano Assualt 81MB! I'm getting it though, as file size is not an indication of game quality.
-
And there's a Rayman Legends demo coming, too.
-
Of course, damn discs. Didn't think it through. I really hope the eShop is a viable option monetary wise, I'm hoping to buy virtually everything via the eShop , I've had a guts full of discs.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Wii U
Londragon replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It's so SEGA can charge you extra for content they removed, and then laugh maniacally. -
Yeah, 32GB will be enough for the time being, if not downloading anything. I really hope you can install the disc based games onto a hard-drive as it would save a lot of hassle. You'll be able to be super lazy, pick up the GamePad and turn everything on from there, TV, console, no swapping dics, yeah. We'll go from activity based Wii to sedentary Wii U.
-
Oh, yeah. I'm not disparaging it. I'm still looking forward to this Japanese monster/tank title for a fun blast between NintendoLand et.al.

It's time to decide - post your launch game choices!
Londragon replied to Aneres11's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Nice to see nobody buying Mass Effect 3 :p Mine are NintendoLand, ZombiU, Nano Assault Neo and Batman definitely. Considering Tank, Tank, Tank, MarioU, and seeing what the prices are like for digital downloads, if reasonable buy them digitally. -
Jostiq, have given it a review and it came up as 3.5 stars out of 5 (3.5/5). Saying it's fun, but maybe short-lived. Also, good with friends, not the sort of game to play alone. I contest that, my son will probably play this to death alone. Full review: http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/19/tank-tank-tank-review/

I am one of those people who haven't played it yet, and don't won't a reviewer to mark it down just because it's been available on other consoles for the past year. Just give it it's score of how it plays on this platform (Wii U). The IGN reviewer (Greg Miller) mentions that; Is it more awkward than pausing the game, selecting through menus by pressing start, followed by down, down, left, A? BTW I can't wait for this game. So excited.

I just finished listening to/watching the IGN video podcast and they let slip in the mid-section, and then badly tried to cover it up, that NSMBU is their highest rated launch game for the Wii U. It was in context of ZombiU, and at first they sounded as if they weren't happy with the game, but it seemed to be resolved that it was just because of the embargo. Anyway, we'll know either way all too soon. Even if this is a mediocre game, I know I'll still enjoy it, taking my time, being careful, planning in advance, and bashing a lot heads in with a cricket bat. Does it look dull? Not to me, but I haven't played it.

Is it worth getting an original 3DS in a post XL world?
Londragon replied to flameboy's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I'd hold out even longer and buy that -
Talking about a kick in the nuts, according to Jeremy Parish of 1UP, Mass Effect 3 on the Wii U has technical issues. He explains: Good job EA.
-
No, I was joking about harking back to the Wii days, but Matt Prior does state; Nice read though.
-
Yeah, the score seems all right, but ONM do say; The missing modes...ahhh, it's EA again giving Nintendo users a watered down version because we are more casual.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Wii U

Loved MK7, too. But, never liked the feel of SEGA racing, the karts are too loose. Haven't played that much though.
