do we know the launch titles yet?

Andrew Murray is in with an outside chance of winning this tournament. Seeded 19th, he will play a US qualifier in the 1st round. Murray loves the US Open. He loves the modern, exciting atmosphere and the hard courts where he learnt to play his game. Henman and Rusedski also play each other in the first match, with the winner going on to probably play Federer. This isn't to mention Agassi playing his 21st and last US Open. The only problem is I don't have Sky Sports and so can't watch it! Anyone got any suggestions? I could listen on the radio or I might be able to get it on in the local pub, but is there any way I can watch it over the internet? I don't think there is... Anyone else going to be watching? I predict Nadal will win, as Federer's form has been dipping slightly below it's normal god-like status and Nadal loves this surface.

oh wow, Jordan I didn't know you were kingofunreal. Hi!

Thats alright if you are annoyed Tellyn, its probably best to let it out here than somewhere else. I do feel you are being a little unfair on me though. Please show me even one instance where I've complained that somebody isn't thinking the same way as me, and one instance where I'm complaining because I don't have a sense of humour (which by the way I do). Anyway if you care to reply then great, but I think after that we should probably let it be. (edit) Wow we posted at the same time. What are the chances!

These things work when the computer is idle, so original console price has nothing to do with it. Can we please stop criticising the PS3, its not what this thread is for. Why do you feel the need to post things like "death to the ps3" and "its the same as a bloody ps2 with better graphics"?

My Very Educated Mother Just Showed Us Nine Planets....
Balfron replied to Charlie's topic in General Chit Chat
The biggest losers in this whole chirade are the American taxpayers. NASA recently sent a $700 million probe to a planet than no longer exists! noobs -
I think we should seriously consider removing 'official threads' in almost all instances. They put me off reading about subjects I want to read about, and I'm sure they put other people off too. The forums are busy, but not that many new threads are made, so I don't really see why official threads are around. At the very least I think we should create a poll asking if people like them. It seems to me that only a few mods like them. The site survived for a long time without official threads.

Well you guys are lucky that my browser just deleted my post for some reason... You can have my abridged version instead: There are way too many childish fanboys in this forum and they really hamper discussion, I've seen it time and time again in this forum. I did copy and paste quotes but I can't be bothered doing it again. Suffice to say that a thread about scientific research should never have degenerated into bringing out comments like "And beat Sony...", "EGASP! TAKE THAT BACK!" (note the capitals, thats how a 10yo American child who plays Halo posts on forums) and "BLASPHEMY". I hate to say it guys but it really is pathetic. I don't want to make a petition to try and change the name to Nintendo Go, I think you need to read what I wrote a bit more carefully. Fish you miss my point, I don't want to make people buy a Wii, I just want to try and help a little. The power consumption of computers is almost negligable when you are paying your bill (although across the country of course it does add up). And throwing money at things doesn't always help. If organisations ask for computer power I suspect that is what they need. Thank system_error, thats more like it! And to whoever said that its too hard to turn the Wii into a computer......

First of all I don't know what the 'Now Playing' field in the 'Post New Thread' page is for! Anyway, Nintendo Go (that is what its called isn't it?) means the Wii will have the potential to always be on. As we know the Wii is a very powerful computer, which for the vast majority of the day will remain unused. Projects such as this one - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sn/hottopics/climatechange/ use dormant PCs to give scientists data they need to do their work. Wouldn't it be nice if Nintendo Go could do this? Is it possible? Are there any plans to do it? If not I will set up a petition. Maybe Nintendo will listen, at the very least it will spread the word and maybe encourage a few PC owners to sign up to projects like the BBC one above. Maybe Wii can save the world! PS Why am I labelled a noob, I've been with this site since this stage with the last console! Edit by Moria: Nintendo Go = WiiConnect24. noob

I'm downloading this at the moment (this is Moria on the other computer in which Balfron is logged on), almost done. Impressions soon

Your body needs sleep. You feel tired for a reason, a drug can stop you feeling tired but it won't stop you being tired. Just find more time in the day, stop reading this site for instance, and sleep more.

"The BNP are too extreme in their ideas and carry too bad a reputation to ever be really taken seriously." You say that Guy, but a worrying amount of people vote for them. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/bsp/hi/vote2004/locals/html/scoreboard.stm And yes, both BNP and Hitler have/had some good policies, but anyone who praises Hitler in any way, however restrained, is playing a very dangerous game and it generally isn't a good idea to do it.

I dunno if anyone else would do the same Bard? How many CEOs do you know of who step down to work for charities? Bill Gates is one of the last of the old guard of Microsoft, the Microsoft who crippled progression by buying out any rivals instantly. The new guys are much better:)
-
trust Guy to make a comment on a thread like this!
-
Fierce Link, why not do that but separate the ideas into different threads? Is that what you are suggesting? Haha I miss our discussions about Oasis!

One option for the nunchuk attachment would be for Nintendo to release a big game at launch that needs it, such as Metroid, and bundle it with that. That way everyone would buy Metroid, and Nintendo wouldn't be losing money because they would have bundled it with the Wii before. Didn't Lylat Wars 64 come with the rumble pak? Theories theories;)
-
Still, I would rather have smaller catagories with more distinct, compressed discussions. But I suppose I'm a minority...
-
but not big enough to stop you having to get your kicks out of making fun of other people? More captions please, enjoyed yours guy! Remember the thread of people making fun of your Dad, his reflection was in the mirror in one of your pics:) And yes, its a babe magnet:p

I think official threads relating to games and big events should be stopped. An example is the Zelda thread currently in the Wii discussions. I want to talk about Zelda, who doesn't? However I don't want to read through pages and pages of people saying "cant wait for this game" to discuss what I want to discuss. I want to get straight to my point, say for example graphics or controls, and discuss them with other people. For that I think a "Zelda controls" thread would be better. I suppose the reason you have official threads is to keep the forums more organised. It doesn't do this, as it takes me ages to find what I want to talk about. It also discourages people from posting, as not everyone can be bothered catching up with the (often repetitive) discussion by reading tens of pages before posting, and then not being able to find their post when they check back the next day. You never used to have official threads, and, while I understand why they are here, I think in most cases they do more harm than good.

you could have 4 player coop each player controlling a regiment of pikmin, or a colour of pikmin

F Zero GX - Have you unlocked the AX tracks?
Balfron replied to david.dakota's topic in General Gaming Discussion
the game isnt that hard. You need to customise your car. Make it extremely weak body, fast engines and medium control. It will be VERY sensitive, but extremely fast and you will get used to it soon. Then its quite straight forward to win the races.. The AX tracks are better graphics but aren't as good as the original ones in general in my opinion. -
Guys, the fact is that ps2 dominates the market right now. That is why the BBC likes it so much, because it is the best (the best being the most popular). BBC is the best news source we have. Even non-English speakers use it because it is reasonably objective. They are much better than any other news source imo.

I believe we are still yet to see the final secret
Balfron replied to Stocka's topic in Nintendo Gaming
guys it cant be that important, because it obviously doesn't affect any of the games we saw at E3... I can't believe these rumours started only 3 days after you were dissapointed at E3! A speaker... wow... -
I love how blind people on this forum can be. Did somebody in this thread really try to claim that it was Nintendo who thought of putting games on CDs?

We are not getting anything free, we are paying a fortune for games, controllers, and the console itself. Besides, just because its free its not an excuse to be rubbish. Online play isnt a bonus like a deleted scene on a dvd, for me its the most important part of a game.
