These sites make you feel so snobbish and shallow but at the end of the day, we make those judgements all the time just not in a scenario that challenges us to make them so consciously. Grindr sounds...really weird. I'm not sure I'd be capable of the emotional disconnect required for such easy fix sex.

The way I see it is that these sites are the means, not an end. I've found that with everyone I've met online first and then for real, the fact that we met online first quickly becomes totally irrelevant. Dating sites just massively increase opportunities to meet people- what happens from there is just whatever happens.

Interesting. Sebastian Shaw is a quality badguy, too. The Hellfire Club are kind of like the secret societies conspiracy theorists love but run by mutants. If shaw is in, then so are some of the X-Men's best adversaries.

For my sins, I've looked in to these things (of the straight kind) but I have been presented with very real problems: 1. South Yorkshire is an ugly place. Seriously, the women on the sites I've seen are just...no. Not to sound shallow but I do have standards. By comparison, I did a quick search in London and was bombarded by hotness. 2. They're pretty expensive. It's about £30 a month, which seems kind of extortionate.

I stand by the news thread! i always said big news stories could have their own thread when needed anyway. And yes, I agree it's a good move; though as has been made clear a few of the specialist threads (comics, anime) probably need to be reopened so that the forum doesn't become clogged up.
