  1. The biggest mystery to me is why a game can translated into EFIGS in Europe for release in the territory and then NOT released in the States. They don't need to do any localisation as it's standard to release in EFS over there.
  2. The 360 does most of that functionality by having a well designed interface. I can just play disc, rather than sifting through the different media menus (video, games etc.) and wtf, if I download a demo. Have to unpack it and then I can play? Just unpack it already! There are many many places where they could: 1. Makes the XMB easier to use by being more of a graphical interface 2. Half the amount of options as 90% of them are either For Devs or could be combined. 3. It's a sluggish interface too that has to reboot all of the time. If I wanted this many options and fringe functionality then I'd get a PC.
  3. If you put Kinect and Move aside for a moment, I find the 360 to still be the better console. For me it has a great selection of games and a solid online system. I absolutely HATE the XMB and it's billions of options. I really like some of the exclusives on the PS3 and the fact that it plays BluRays but frankly it can ram it if Sony think that I am going to "enjoy" trying to find the option to do that one little task that I need to. 360 is so much easier to enjoy....
  4. Yes, I would give Silicon Knights a wide berth. For all of their pretentious talk, they make a game once every million years and frankly have a company crippling business plan. As for the conference, it was on par for me. For once I have managed to observe it in a relatively objective and non-judgemental way. I didn't get to see Sony's conference so I won't judge that but I thought MS came out and did what they needed to do. I'm particularly surprised at the delays to Gears 3 but I was happy to see that ME3 was looking tight but isn't anyone else getting bored of CoD? I couldn't give a shit about the opening to MS show... was bored! Nintendo had a solid showing, giving us basically the expected stuff. Zelda 25th anniversary was a waste of time and E3 was not the place to do it. The showing for the 3DS was very good but predictable, with (as far as I'm aware) no new 3rd party IP being shown which upsets me a little. I'm interested in the Wii U but I think that they really fluffed it's presentation. I think they should have led with the 3rd parties and reassured people about the power and enticed them with that interview montage. THEN they could have shown the control possibilities. I also think that their general angle on marketing the system is appalling as they are heading into consumer confusion again with this botched branding. It was hard enough at E3 convey that it was a new console but how are they going to do that with the public? The message is too complicated and the fact that they aren't answering the important questions makes it more so. But by far the heroes of E3 for me were Ubisoft. Assassins Creed, GRFS with showcase controls for Kinect, GRO both on PC looking (very swish) and Wii U (another tech showcase), Killer Freaks AND Assassins Creed on Wii U. If that doesn't deserve some kudos then I don't know what does.
  5. No no no.... AvP2 was very good but still didn't match the films by a country mile and that is all because of the writing. And I wasn't a big fan of AvP on HD platforms (recent one by Rebellion and SEGA). It just didn't feel right and did not flow at all. Controls were overly complex and it was a classic case of a game that looked pretty in stills and mediocre in motion. Animation and movement is a big part of these films and none of it was done well in the latest game.

  7. I think that the comments made about Nintendo's online so far are massively open to interpretation. I appreciate that many people here are justifiably jaded and cynical about the possible Wii U online system but we shouldn't be jumping the gun. The system explained in that interview is exactly how the system is on XBL. Developers are free to structure their online systems in the way that they choose, hosting their own servers and being responsible for the delivery of their own product. DLC, expansion packs and social functions are however handled by the XBL system. Now I've read that interview transcript several times and I don't see anything that suggests that the system on Wii U will be any different. I think we are all just frustrated that we don't have any reassurance yet.
  8. I wouldn't worry about it. Nintendo have an astounding legal team. There are many reasons why this patent might not effect them.
  9. So... no new details past night. Looks like reggie really wants to stretch that definition of end of the week to mean outside of E3. Fingers crossed eh?
  10. Oh dear... is it mafia time already?!
  11. What are you talking about it? It looked on par if not better than MGS2 in places!
  12. Just going to turn into a cock fight
  13. Funnily enough my brain thought that they could be used to clip on a kind of neck strap.
  14. The real questions there is: Did it make Sony any money? Selling 70 million units at a loss is expensive.
  15. @HoT stuff - Fair point... however I've been using a similar set up on my iPad and it works just fine. @Cube - Alright so you have access to the high res press photos :p What is the port on the bottom edge for? Is this an alternate charging point?
  16. Personally I don't think the concept of the game is compatible with what Wu can do.
  17. I'm on the list for the Beta of this... looking forward to it a lot.
  18. This pic shows where the headphone jack is. Microphone is in the front. I don't really understand why you would need a headset as an alternative. On another note, what do you recon that square panel is between the stylus and the headphone jack?
  19. "Not much of the title was shown" I didn't think they showed it at all.
  20. How did you get there? They are saying that the servers are handled by the devs. It's the same on XBL but you use a central account for all of them. Stop panicking.
  21. Talking of which... perfect use of the Umote right there.

  23. Better than shouting at your 360 huh?
