That is fantastic, just as you mentioned it is just like old gaming magazines. And the pages for Nintendo World Championship reminds me a lot of Club Nintendo magazine from the late 80s

That does seem to be the case, the official site mentioned which ROMS they are using for each game: I had a look around and this is the ROM from the arcade release. In regards to MvC2, this means very little as the Dreamcast came out a month later, so its basically the same. Capcom did this with the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection and I remember being a bit disappointed that we didn't have a choice of which version to play. That said, the trailer shows we have quite a few options to tweak the game Plus they could always add content in the future. I had mixed feelings on it. I remember that I enjoyed unlocking the characters but over time it was too much of a grind. As you know, each time you brought a character it increased the price to buy the next one, and so even though I was playing this game for hours every day, it took me way too long to get enough points to buy all the characters and stages. I remember i towards the end I resorted to leaving the game running on Training mode as that was a way to get points. Another option back then was you could download save files from Gamefaqs directly onto the memory cards via the Dreamcast internet browser and download a completed save file.

I feel the same, I think an online Crazy Taxi game where I am up against several other players all on the same map sounds great. It certainly has the potential to be something decent.

Hey that's from my YouTube channel, so that should give you an idea of how much I love this games soundtrack. That particular song is one my favorites from MvC2 (although I like every song in this game soundtrack lol) I have so many good memories of playing MvC2 on my Dreamcast back when it came out and I always went back to it to play as it was just one of those games I always enjoyed. A Marvel Capcom Collection was pretty much my dream game but I had assumed it was not going to happen until last year when Arcade 1up released a cabinets of several Marvel Capcom games. From that point I assumed it was only a matter of time before it gets a home release as it showed it was possible for Marvel and Capcom to release these titles again. Seeing this collection in the Nintendo Direct a few weeks ago made me incredibly happy, i honestly can't wait to play MvC 2 again and also to play the other games, i have played a few of them over the years but but only a few goes in the arcade when they came out. Edit- Its worth looking at the official website for this collection, they've put quite a bit of effort into it: https://www.capcom-games.com/marvel-vs-capcom-fc/en-uk/

I never got my polling card so I went to the polling station nearby anyway, to be told that that particular polling station has not been assigned for my street. which is annoying considering its all of three minutes walking distance from my road: It’s my fault for not checking before hand, but it seemed logical the place two streets away would be my polling station, not the one ten minutes away

That was a tremendous Direct, especially considering how late we are in the Switchs life. For me my favorite moments were the announcements of Marvel vs Capcom 2 and the other games in the compilation, that is something I have wanted for a long time. The Ace Attorney Investigations games as well, i really liked the first one on DS and now we finally get to play the sequel in the west. Mario & Luigi: Brothership looked very good, its nice to see the Mario and Luigi series back and it looked fantastic. Also looking forward to playing Perfect Dark again on NSO

Supposedly the second game might be

Nintendo Switch Online: Game Boy / Game Boy Color

I always found it a little odd that Capcom released Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition for MegaDrive on NSO but not any SNES Street Fighter games. I hope this will change in future though. -

Thanks guys. Annoyingly this will be the last time we'll be able to upload our NEMK Get Together clips via twitter as Nintendo are removing support from the 11th. -

Yeah nice turn out tonight -
Glover sounds like it would be perfect for some kind of remake or remaster. I just read about the nearly completed sequel which I had no idea was in development until I read your post, quite fascinating really and I'm looking forward to read what you say about it. Also, i feel the need to share that Glover was a sponsor for a WWE (WWF at the time) PPV in 1998:

The new trailer for Multiversus is pretty good

Funny enough I was in WH Smiths just under a week ago which was the very same one I used to buy a lot of my gaming mags in back in the 1990s and 2000s. I popped in to look around for old times sake and I was going to buy a gaming magazine and unsurprisingly, it was actually hard to find them... all there was was Retro Gamer and Edge buried away. In the end i opted to get a random Marvel graphic novel instead I like that Super Play is so high on the list. I would have also put N64 magazine on there which I would have been my personal number 1. Also I agree Gamesmaster should be higher. I gotta say, i was never a huge fan of Edge. I'm not saying its bad but it is so formal and serious, which was never the way I liked reading about video games. Some of you might like the site ForgottenWorlds which is a website that has articles about UK game magazines as well as interviews with people that worked on them. A couple of months ago they interviewed Will Overton who did a lot of the cover artwork for Super Play (you can see one of his covers in my avatar) and N64 magazine.

I always wanted to try out Space Station Silicon Valley, i remember reading the review for it in N64 magazine at the time and thinking its exactly the kind of game i'd be into. I beleive it was re-released on the PlayStation in 2000 under a new name of Evo's Space Adventures, although it sounds like an inferior port going by what the Cutting Room Floor have to say: Also I thought I would post this as you might find it interesting. Edge magazine gave away a CD-ROM with a bunch of trailers on it back in 1997 which had some early footage of Space Station, which I uploaded to youtube years ago. You can see some things that were in there during development that didn't make it to the final game:

the release date has been narrowed down to "Fall 2025"

Nintendo Switch Online: Game Boy / Game Boy Color

I had never played Super Mario Land until today, so it is a first for me. I've only played a few levels and it seems incredibly easy but at the time i remember how impressive it was to see a Super Mario Bros game running on a handheld device. Whats funny to me is that I am familiar with the music from the first levels because it was released as a pop song in the early 1990s, so i keep thinking of this while I am playing: -
Nintendo had an enhanced version of BOTW running behind the scenes at Gamescom in September last year, running at 4k and 60fps: https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2023/09/rumour-switch-2-gamescom-demo-supposedly-had-zelda-botw-running-at-4k-60fps So that code name might just be that demo, or they really are going to release a full on enhanced port. When reading this yesterday I learned that Mario 3D Worlds code name was RedCarpet with the Switch version being called RedCarpet-S, Mario Kart 8 on Wii U was Turbo and TurboS on Switch.
