EA are pretty good. They only really push yearly updates on sports titles, an area where the fans actually want yearly updates. Compare that to a CoD and GH every year...

It depends if you want cheap or if you want good. AFAIK Sky, Orange, AOL, Talk Talk etc are all pretty much in the same league. It's basic broadband sold cheaply, and the service isn't exactly top-notch. Be-There are probably the most recommended provider. Good speeds, good customer service, reliable. Only downside is being more expensive than the competitors, £15-£20+ a month

FDDs got removed because they were obsolete. Apple removed the optical drive from the Air becuase it would make the unit quite a bit thicker. The two are completely different. I can see optical drives getting removed eventually, but theres a lot of life left in them yet

I turn 21 on the 3rd so i'll spare you guys the horror of seeing me with a birthday hangover and come down on the 5th instead (maybe, knowing me i'll appear on the 4th any way) I've got the business card for the hostel i stayed in for the Guitar Hero III launch party, i'd recommend it for anyone looking for somewhere to stay. It was great fun, met some really cool people from all over the world and ended up staying up all night chatting/drinking with them.

That second deal is great! I wouldn't go for that graphics card though, a branded (i.e. Powercolor, Sapphire etc.) should only cost another couple of quid and will probably have a better warranty (difficult to tell, theres no warranty info on that one you linked to).

Post up a budget and I can help. Also, with the speakers would you prefer music or movies as the priority? Doing both equally well doesn't really happen because they require very different properties

looking at the music market, I tend to buy albums over iTunes on an pulse. I want a track, I buy that track. If it impresses me enough then I might even "complete the album". I still buy CDs, but I tend to browse for them and pick up any bargains I find in HMV. I don't go looking for anything specific because of its in stock it usualy tends to be more expensive. interestingly I never buy CDs from places like play.com any more. Having to wait for the thing to come in the post is so damn inconvenient! Anyway, on to my point. I could see the movie market working in the same way. Downloads will soak up the majority of sales, especially with tv episodes. Disk formats will fill more of a bargains/impulse buys criteria. Then again I do miss having the actual CDs, and I will pay a little extra to get them. Maybe people who buy a lot of DVDs feel the same?

I won't buy in to a HD disk format until the prices fall sub-£80 for the player and £10 for the disks. They're pretty, but not enough of a radical improvement over DVD to warrant the sort of price currently asked. Definitely a luxury at the moment. I'd like to see downloads sorted pretty soon, if i can use my 360 or PC to download high def movies for a few quid then i'll happily buy. Yes, the quality is worse. Do i care? Not really, for the price difference im happy At theoretical maximum bandwidth, which only happens under idea conditions and will only be available in certain parts of the country

Paradox much? If you do you're research then building ain't particularly hard. Just be careful and don't guess at anything, if you don't know what to do then ask someone who does Dell do basic machines that are pretty competitive with custom builds. All they tend to be lacking is a graphics card, an easy upgrade. Maybe look at that for an alternative?

The problem isn't that people don't have teams. We have the wrong number of teams for a tournament and so far a league isn't going anywhere. We have 1 team too many or 3 teams too few to do a tourney, unless 3 people (after counting ReZ) decide they want to join then we'll have to do a league, something which is going to take a hell of a lot longer and some more organising. If nobody has sorted it out by Tuesday then i'll draw up a table and the first round fixtures. Im not around from when i go to bed tonight, until after work Tuesday morning. Yes
