Sky has more channels, Sky+ is just a service. Virgin+ is better than Sky+, but Sky has the better selection of shows in the first place. Thats what i was meaning. If i could combine V+ with Sky's channel selection i'd be very happy indeed

Don't buy it! It's shite! Sorry, but it really is. My Dad warned me off buying one a few months ago because they are really unreliable (he runs a mobile phone repair centre, so he has a pretty good idea about what phones break the most :p). My ex GF had one too, and after using it ia was really, really glad i didn't buy it. Cheap, flimsy feeling thing...

Yup, it was activated before, and now it thinks it isn't. That ain't the only problem though, to me it looks like some of the operating system files have been corrupted, when i try manually activating i get a BSOD. AFAIK the same will happen when i do it over the phone, i still have to "activate" from this end, and when i do i'll BSOD. I'll give them a phone in a while if i can't get my stuff backed up, because i cannot afford to lose all my data Well, after spending a day on and off the phone to tech support the conclusion is that no, i can't fix it and yes, i will have to do a reinstall, losing all my files in the process. Im hugging on to one last glimmer of hope now, i've ordered another Hard Drive and im going to install Windows on that. Then hopefully i can access this one and move all my photos and music before wiping it. I can't see why it won't work, and tech support did say it was worth a shot, so i may as well try

I don't have an external drive, and even if i did the ONLY program i can use is Firefox. If i could access Explorer i'd throw everything on to the 2nd partition, but i can't EDIT: i can upload photos to Photobucket. Does anyone know any good hosting sites that let you back up you're computer to them?

Sky > Virgin Virgin+ > Sky+

I was just chatting on MSN with someone, she had to go and closed her webcam. As soon as this happened the computer BSODs, restarts and im greeted with a message telling me to activate Windows. I try to activate and the OS crashes! All i can do is access "reduced functionality mode" which just gives me access to the web. Now i have 2 questions: 1. Can i fix this? 2. If not, how the hell do i get data off the C drive before i re-install? Sadly my default browser is Firefox, which although nice for web browsing is completely shit in this instance because i can't put Explorer commands in

Nothing under £40 is a pretty good rule of thumb, stuff over that is generally fine

One of my 360 controllers and my headset have died Gonna try repairing them tomorrow... I miss the old days of Live tbh, we need to get that going again. I know people keep trying and it never works, but tbh i think the problem is the games. Not many people still have and play Gears. Halo 3 has horrible Lag problems. CoD4 isn't really everyone's cup of tea. Maybe a revival for Vegas 2?

Sadly, no. To be fair though if you hack he phone and install custom apps then the iPhone can send MMS and take videos. The features are there, im guessin Apple are just waiting for the right moment to charge people extra for them

I'd be surprised if Europe sees this before Xmas, with Mario Kart and Wii Fit due out in Q2, and Q3 being a quiet period a really can't see any reason why NoE would want to release it any sooner. They need a big Christmas game, and unless Nintendo have anything in hidden development Brawl looks like the only one Europe will see this year. Personally i'd rather they did Brawl in Q1, Wii Fit in Q2 and Mario Kart at Xmas, but meh, they're choice

Speaking of Steam, anyone fancy a game of TF2? I've not played in weeks!

I've had similar messages before, these people just piss me off!

That's what i'd do too, i've seen 20GB HDDs go for under £30! Add in the money you'd get for selling the memory unit and the bonus of having 5 arcade games thrown in and it ain't a bad deal, even before you start looking at bundles.

Personally i don't. The iPhone is a good phone, it's not the messiah of the mobile world though. It's an alternative to the N95 and similar phones. On the plus side it has a good OS, web browser and the touch screen works well. On the downside it lacks 3G, is locked to O2 and it's locked for 3rd party apps. There's good sides and bad sides and it's up to people to decide what is right for them. Neither product is better. The only thing that pisses me off is the bullshit elitism. In my eyes the same goes for Macs. Until my parents got one i was willing to admit i might be wrong about them, but now im adamant that they aren't any better than PCs. They are just an alternative. My parent's Mac crashes, freezes and glitches just as the Windows computer it replaced, the only difference now being that i have no idea how to help them fix the problems when they occur! Please be nice people Having a discussion isn't any reason to talk bollocks

Wii Freeloader Thread - FAQ & Info in First Post
McPhee replied to DiemetriX's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I wish this would hurry up :p Im not buying a Wii until stock on the Freeloader and Brawl is easily available, not exactly rolling in the monies right this minute so if im not gonna get to play Brawl til i next get paid then i may as well hold off buying until then -
I doubt i'll bother until the next big (non-PC) online game comes out. IIRC my sub is due to expire in the next few weeks and i see no point splashing out another £40... Gonna trade CoD4 in and get it on PC

It is pretty much the interface and the marketing, there's nothing else special in the iPhone or the iPod Touch. Neither are technically ground-breaking and both are out-spec'd by competing products. The only thing that makes them unique is the OS, which is, to be perfectly honest, outstanding! What i will say though is I wouldn't buy an iPhone, there are far better buys around. To me combining an iPod Touch and a mobile phone is a better idea, less of a problem if something gets nicked/broken and (in some cases) better functionality

I think Nintendo desperately need some new franchises tbh, i mean how much Mario can we take!?!?!?! Mario Party Mario Tennis Mario Kart Mario Golf Mario Soccer Smash Bros Mario Platformers DDR Mario Edition Paper Mario Whats next? Mario Rugby? Cricket? An FPS? An RTS? I'd like to see them lay off the fat guy a bit, and tbh most of they're other established franchises too. Give us an FPS, and RTS, an RPG, and create new IPs while you're at it. Come off the beaten track a bit and do something different, something new, something a bit wierd. Please stop re-hashing the same games over and over again with prettier graphics and an extra couple of gameplay bonuses

Lag in TF2. Smaller game sizes. Crappy controls. The lack of proper servers. TBH Live pretty much bores me as an online service these days. I only use it to play with my mates in co-op games + the occasional blast on Halo 3

Ping. Some advice on internet connection

Ping is basically response time, measured in milliseconds. Obviously the lower the number of milliseconds the better
