nice to see my fave show of all time getting a mention, knight rider rocks! season three heading our way soon too!! :) have to say though, that i am totally addicted to the new battlestar galactica, nothing else like it on tv! absolutely stunning! i've also actually gotten back into (don't laugh lol!) baywatch! they've started showing it late monday to friday nights on uktv gold, and it's so easy to forget that its first five-odd years it was a pretty good show with decent characters. the first year is so different to what came after too. i'm loving hogan knows best, bloody hilarious! and i'm waiting to get lost on dvd as i lost track of the show on tv by missing a few weeks. patience is a virtue lol! (like any battlestar fan will tell you after the end of season one!!)

how many episodes per season? and how many have been made so far, do you know if it is still being made? anyone any ideas of a region two release...? (don't ask for much, do i? lol)

i agree the characters are childish, spongebob and patrick are kids after all, but i think the humour is definitely written with adults in mind too lol

didn't super play become n64 magazine which became NGC? or am i wrong...? well, i look forward to a magazine with chandra back at the helm but yeh i think the rest of the staff need to be new, or at least more dedicated to nintendo than the rest of the cube team - bring back Gary! lol! so is the magazine starting at issue one again? i ask because the current issue (bought two, will do the same next month and keep one of each in its bag... ebay them in about five to ten years you should too folks!) states several times that it is the final ever issue of NOM. they do state very quickly that something is HAPPENING to it rather than it being cancelled, and that a new "Official Nintendo Magazine" will be out with a new team, Future Publishing even gets a mention in the letters pages. but for the most part they talk about the rug being pulled out from uner them, there's the "game over" page (although in fairness it does have two options of "quit" or "restart") and several other instances of it basically saying it is cancelled outright. so what do we know? next month shall be a fresh take on the same magazine or a completely new start? can't wait either way, very intriguing teaser in last months's NGC, hopefully more details in this month's!

just to add my two cents jav, if you wanna be friends don't ever give up on that... two of my ex's i'm still friends with, one was easy because after a few months we realised we were more friends than anything and have become really close mates thru it so i'm glad we were able to get to know each other so quickly by going out. i work with her too, not many people know how we met lol so they're always saying we'd make a nice couple, but we know better lol. the other ex tho... well, we were engaged for a while before it broke up, this is going back about five years now(!! - god i feel old all of a sudden!) and for the first year after we split things weren't good at all! we hated the sight of each other; constantly bitched about each other on our own homepages we had at the time; took ages to get over it; still hated her being with anyone else tho; even the police were involved at one stage!! but, even after all of that(!), about a year later, after about three to four months of no contact all-of-sudden she mentioned on her website how she missed me. i mentioned to a friend that i missed her as a friend and wouldn't mind giving that a shot, she emailed her without me knowing and low-and-behold we met and realised we both wanted to be friends. now about four years later she lives down the road from me, she even lived with me for a few weeks between houses after she split with her latest fella she was living with. we can joke about what we got up to, there's nothing but a solid friendship there now... and another nintendog-item-swapping partner lol! ok, iv waffled to get to my point of it could be easy or it could be very difficult to end up as friends but no matter how awkward it may seem to begin with it is always possible so never give up if it is what you really want

SO well said lol! i only went to see the movie coz hasselhoff was meant to take the piss outta himself in it, and being a knight rider fan that sounded funny lol. but i never stopped laughing from the moment the film began!! we went to a late showing and the place was FULL of adults and the sound of laughter never stopped lol! i think it actually appeals to adults equally as to kids, the humour is more spot-on than the simpsons and, believe it or not folks, ever quicker! if you haven't watched him at all, start with the movie and i bet you're a fan by the end

actually i'll take christine out. it's defo in my top ten, but i have to put in a comedy that i love dearly into my top five! i think it is not only the funniest film of its genre but the funniest film i've ever seen in my life! and i went to the cinema to see it long before i ever saw the cartoon show it's based on lol.. yes, its the spongebob squarepants movie

thank god i didn't watch that, my own remote control would've been thru the tv screen! yet again, its just sony's own hype machine working overtime and convincing people it's gonna be much more than it will be! and jay, very well put! you're right, let's hope nintendo get the support they need. i hope that it is different enough to attract the right numbers of people and that sony don't buy all the good space in shops to make the revo look unpopular (again!)! now if only we can convince the wallet-hungry people at GAME etc that just because nintendo is going off on a tangent that they shouldn't be written off, that if they back nintendo's vision they will see it repaid in dividends with sales! GAME, you need to embrace change!!

I can definitely say what my fave movie is, but the other four are in no particular order... 1.) JAWS it's the movie that made me love movies, and that got me interested in doing it myself ! (that's making movies, not eating people!) the other four (which are probably subject to change tomorrow lol) are: Christine Citizen Kane War Of The Worlds (2005) - never thought it would surpass the 1953 version, but even just in tone it is so much closer to the original story, dark, scary and takes-no-prisoners attitude... now if only the son hadn't lived!! Batman Begins - was blown away! THIS is batman! let's hope they don't mess it up this time around!

five are showing atlantis from the beginning, heard it's doing pretty well too in its friday night primetime slot! must make c4 sorry they treated sg1 so badly! rokhed00, yeh so what if sci-fi US's top shows are all sci-fi, it doesn't take away from the fact that sg1 didn't have any fall in ratings like you stated.

sg1's ratings have increased. on sci-fi, it, atlantis and battlestar are, based on this year's ratings, it's top three rated programmes ever. sgi magazine and tv zone.

i agree with Edjamakated about everything being up in the air, just to clarify that i do understand we're in a kind of limbo for the forseeable future, unfortunately... pit-jr, ofcourse i don't want all our games to be the same, but let's face it if we're gonna rely solely on original content we're gonna be getting a fraction of what the other machines will be enjoying, and having suffered that with the cube i don't really want a repeat of that. i don't think we snub everything that isn't exclusive for our machines, it's just that a lot of cube owners also own xbox's and ps2's and end up buying the games for them instead because they're used to buying more games for those machines and just leave the cube until another exclusive comes along. for the record i only own a cube and no other home console and find it frustrating the lack of cross-platform games we're getting. imagine if the revolution got as much cross-platform support as possible, each game being tweaked to support the revolutionary new controller and being all the better for it. people may buy the rev's version over the others'... then add in the >>stack<< of much better exclusive titles from 1st, 2nd and 3rd party developers that are made for the revo from the ground up. can you see it? A MOUNTAIN of software and a huge presence for nintendo, catering for everyone!

iv only seen seasons one to five on dvd, but from what i'v read the latest season (the first without rda) is breaking records ratings-wise, with atlantis breaking those! i really will have to get back into it, by watching season five again before buying six, but what i'm really into right now in battlestar galactica! only 24 hours until the season two premiere!! all three of these shows are top ratings winners on sci-fi in the US, and even though i haven't seen atlantis (still watching sg1 in order remember lol, bit frustrating) i think it looks great. battlestar is such a different show it's mind-blowingly realistic the way it's filmed and the writing is definitely the best i've ever enjoyed! did anyone see "sci-fi inside" about all three shows on sky last week? now i'm back in an sg1 mood again too! lol, so much to watch so little time!

they're still making the cartoon i think ( i hope anyway!) one of the ones i saw on toonami recently said is was episode 50-something, so fingers crossed it is still going. it's been winning awards that the simpsons have been winning for years before jack came along, so i would like to think he's still going strong any news on a dvd set?

personal opinion aside (having only played the original when it first came out) it's a big title, and as such nintendo would benefit greatly from being able to attract a lot more multi-format games, especially BIG name games, to the revolution and tailored around the new controller.

yeh someone mentioned that after "revolution" any new machine's name would seem underwhelming, but think about xbox and sony, what on earth will they call their's? xbox 666? and playstation 4 just sounds like a generic money-maker. but i wana wait to see what they are thinking of calling it. i don't mind revolution but i think nintendo may surprise us.

but this is the kind of thinking that sony and xbox fans will use to combat the revolution because they won't open their minds to new ways of play. have trust in nintendo, we never thought a bongo-controlled platformer would work but it does - big style!!

i have to say i disagree that it would be easier to port the >>controls<< over to the 360 and ps3, after all the game is designed to run with a mouse, and the revolution's controller is the console equivalent at the very least, so it should be easy enough from a control standpoint. but moreso than that, the extra opportunities that a fully 3d-space "mouse" and internal giros could bring to such a game would make it seem like a natural choice. guess we'll just have to wait till e3 for all these non-disclosure agreements to come to an end... fingers crossed that is!

demonmike04, are we related? lol! i have an uncle that's like that too. and also, there's a guy that works with one of my friends and he hates me (something silly to do with sleeping with his girlfriend... i didn't know she was seeing someone else though in my defense... but anyhoo... ahem...) and my friend amanda bought herself a DS and brought her nintendog into her work. everyone loved it, especially all the other females (see below) but this guy did nothing but tell her to sell it and buy a PSP because the DS was failing and no one was making any more games for it and that it was a flop everywhere! and he was only doing this because of me lol! how sad! yes he owns a psp too. people like this really get my blood boiling too, just like the news of the world, but what you said about it is so true, its a common paper for chavs lol! i like that and about the nintendog thing above... it REALLY is good for chatting women up

nicely said Flaight, very nicely said i agree 100%, never thought of it that way before... and yeh DCK, i know i wasn't really unbiased in my opening statement but then again i wasn't trying to be. i'm a ninty fan through-and-through and this is a nintendo forum, the journalists that make up these 'papers are meant to report in a completely unbiased way, it's in their job description after all. Moria makes an excellent point however, and lets not forget Edge as well seems to be in our camp when you put it like that Moria, makes me realise it's not all bad but i also agree with this idea of an email to such press, and i'll be writing to the Sunday life and report back to you if they respond...

iD have already stated their lurve (lol) for the revo's controller though, so i was confused as to why they are already ignoring us. but yeh, no confirmation has been released yet stating what the machine is capable of, and "d'oh", i forgot all about ninty "shush-ing" developers for the time being (thanks Konfucius and Kurt R ) so i guess it's a waiting game. may really can't come soon enough!!! thank god we moved our holiday to turkey back to june... i couldn't cope with waiting for revo news any longer lol!

thank god they're fake! i mean, after the way the GCN logo comes onto the screen, that "RS" one just looked boring! and copying the DS logo for no apparent reason... mm.. nah, no thanks! and i never liked the PSP's menus which this is obviously trying to copy.

it's just frustrating to read such drivel, sony has its fanboys too who think it's all about image... you should read our local Sunday paper The Sunday Life, they constantly diss the DS, even saying it's flopping all over the world!! so obviously a sony fanboy but they get away with lies like this all the time. i just feel like it would do nintendo a world of good to address such problems and get marketing... sponsoring adult comedy shows etc on channel four certainly helped the ds, i just can't wait for them to start hyping the revo up properly. i know they can't until e3, but after that surely a system with a control interface such as it has, and FREE online gaming alone is enough to warrant better attention? but what happens if all the so-called "journalists" in the more mainstream press have already made their minds up by then that it is "for the kiddies"? yes it may not matter when you see how well the DS has done, but imagine if nintendo's marketing DID win them over? imagine the sales figures then? then imagine the support that would garner, from devloper's AND the shops?!
