Monster Hunter New 3DS came with the charger in the same box, that was the same kind of deal as the Majora's Mask one.
-
I wasn't aware of this, in that case hopefully there will be a decent amount of customisation then.

For the record, I don't hate the faces, they're just not the best ones I've seen in a game like this, I like Thuderbirds as well but I don't think these look like them. Anyway here's a brief comparison... Xenoblade Chronicles X Phantasy Star Online 2 I know it's easy to say 'what's the difference?' but there were a lot more options to alter the face if you didn't like it, I know they are two different games but I just thought it would be interesting to compare. : peace:

That's strange... my brother's ShopTo copy arrived as did my copy of MH4U, not only that but they dropped an extra MM necklace in with my New 3DS XL charging cradle I also ordered from them, so that both my bro and I have one. Surely yours is on the way? You live further up country and I live way down at the bottom in Cornwall, it doesn't make sense... I hope it turns up soon for you. : peace:

Needless to say I can't afford to keep them all - I'm really thankful for my credit card this month - so I'll have to choose one ultimately and I think we all know it will probably end up being the Majora's Mask XL but being that I originally pre-ordered the MH4U edition while the MM edition promptly sold out it made sense to keep the pre-order as the Monster Hunter one sold out too. Then I got in on the Amazon pre-order for £20 more less the figure and charger so I kept it thinking 'Amazon will never actually deliver for release...' and now they have so that's the one I'll likely end up keeping, then I'll have to put the MH and Ambassador Edition up so that I can at least make my money back that I paid just so I don't end up out of pocket. One good thing will come out of it though, for a brief period of time I will have all three in my possession so I was thinking of getting my brother - who is keen on photography - to take some high resolution comparison shots which I thought might make a nice feature for the site if that's something that people would be interested in? : peace: This has turned into a rather busy week off work!

So my originally pre-ordered Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate New 3DS XL arrived today... It didn't come with any seal over the box so I decided to open it up and take some - poor quality Vita camera - pics. I'm half-tempted to upgrade right now but it seems like Amazon actually came through with that Majora's Mask XL pre-order which I wasn't expecting. So I will wait, being that I'm 95% certain that I'll want to upgrade to the Zelda model when that arrives tomorrow, assuming it's in good condition. Still... really tempted to switch over.

I meant to post these the other day when my Zelda Soundtrack arrived... It's a really nice item, definitely worth paying up to £20 for on eBay I'd say. Glad I went for it on Club Nintendo though, managed to carefully unseal, rip and reseal it. The soundtrack itself is amazing, some nice bonus tracks on there too. : peace:

I'm kind of surprised that with the character creation seeming to be very similar to that of PSO2 why they didn't carry over similar character faces as well? The whole game looks great aside from the faces which look like they wouldn't have even made it to concept stage in a game like PSO... I'm just really quite perplexed as they seem to have at least drawn inspiration from it for a lot of elements aside from the faces. I mean they even have the dedicated 'boob slider' so why they didn't copy all other general aesthetics - obviously changing things slightly for copyright reasons - is beyond me.

Personally I would delete Swords Dance as Night Slash helps you to cover more bases in terms of Pokémon types affected by your moves, having something that is good against Ghost Types is a huge bonus.

Welcome to the forums @MasterCharmander13 it's always good to see some fresh faces signing up who are genuine posters. : peace: I reached roughly the same area of the game in Pokémon Alpha Sapphire when I was last playing it, from what I can recall none of my team are much about level 40. I would have played more but there are so many games out at the moment, though I will resolve to finish the game at some point. That will definitely be within the next few months as I can't forget to claim the codes for those special ability Serperior, Emboar and Samurott event download Pokémon as they will surely make decent additions to my team, I've always liked the series though I've found myself playing it gradually less with each incarnation even though I always finish the story eventually. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your stay and if you have any Pokémon related questions our resident expert @Serebii - you may have heard of his site I hear it's the biggest Pokémon resource on the internet or something? - will surely be happy to help.

3D Streets of Rage 2?!? That's another day 1 insta-buy right there! : peace:

So I received my 2TB hard drive today, installed it earlier and now it appears to be working fine. At first it was a bit of a trial to get the cover off but after that the actual swapping over hard drives was simple enough, just ensuring those screws were lined up. Reinstalled the system software, updated fine then set up everything, turned it off, turned it on again an hour or so later and I was greeted with the system settings again as if I was setting up the machine after only having done so recently... ...googled it though, apparently it's a common thing, as is the seldom heard noise the drive makes when first accessing the data before going back to its usual low-clicking state when in use. I'll give it a day or so before I go putting everything back on - not going to put all that I had on it again in any case - but for now I'll be using Destiny for a proper test run, it's all installed and is updating now so all seems to be good. : peace: I'm aiming to make the 1.77TB available space that I now have last the entire life of the console. Pleasantly surprised at how *simple it all was and wondered why I didn't upgrade sooner now. *I'm just hoping it doesn't now suddenly fail on me within the next few hours/days/weeks... I'm sure it'll be fine.

Ah, well... I wanted to make sure my PS4 is all sorted so that I know I can switch it on and use it for voice chat with MH4U when that arrives tomorrow, because I know that once I started playing Majora's Mask 3D that would be it, all other games temporarily cease to exist. Really enjoying it currently just noticing all the differences from the beloved N64 version. : peace:

We seem to get codes whenever Nintendo feel like passing them onto us, sometimes this works out nicely and we get a load of new game codes early in one go but other times it seems to be ages between codes; for instance I really would have thought that we'd have been OK for acquiring codes for Majora's Mask 3D and MH4U but apparently not. As for VC games, well... we get sent review codes for about 10% of those through the year at a rough guess so I just re-buy the ones I'm either not as familiar with or haven't played. I'm sure they used to be more regular but I don't know what's happened with them recently but anyway, we're N-Europe so we persevere. : peace:
-
I'll see what I can do... We didn't get any codes for either version, so I'll get buy them soon probably - after finishing playing Majora's Mask and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate when that arrives - is there an expiry on the cross-buy deal?
-
Mine arrived this morning! But then so did my new PS4 hard drive so only got around to playing it/posting about it now. It's pretty awesome though. : peace:

On the other hand... what a way to get people to buy a New Nintendo 3DS if it does happen and if it's exclusive. But yeah... I'd prefer Twilight Princess to be remade for the Wii U, but I'd buy it on any Nintendo format. : peace:
-
Well I was hoping that Nintendo might have at least sent the Monster Hunter New 3DS XL at the same time being that they seem to have sent out some of the Majora's Mask consoles. But it's cool, I'll just do the transfer when it arrives. : peace: I believe it's on the card however even if you do the transfer it should still remain permanently in the eShop purchase history, somehow along with all your other stuff linked to your NNID though obviously not if you delete it from the history. I'm sure I've read this somewhere in any case so it shouldn't be a problem re-downloading it after the transfer.

All I've had from ShopTo are order receipts for MH4U and my brother's copy of Majora's Mask 3D but then I'm not expecting them to ship until tomorrow, still... if they shipped today it would be nice! : peace:
-
Nintendo have just shipped my Majora's Mask 3D special edition! : peace: Hyped! It looks like I'll be starting the game on my New 3DS then.

So at N-Europe we've actually been setting the trend with VC Weekly for years then? Nah, I know that even VC Weekly originally had scores albeit only for the first entry though before they were quite rightly dropped because it makes more sense to have a verdict, especially for older titles which would have been reviewed under a score many times before. As for Metacritic I don't think we've ever been on there or if we were it would have been for a brief period of time though I could be getting mixed up with another aggregate site, I think we were on Game Rankings at some point, not that it really matters though. I understand that there are arguments both for and against scoring in reviews, personally I always thought that we managed to strike a good balance at N-E and I know that potentially doing away with scores could be a good thing so whatever is decided for N-Europe with regards to scores I'll happily go along with. : peace: What do you think @Ashley? Could the time be right for us to do away with the score? I know it would certainly make life easier, I can recall many instances when the score has caused nothing but trouble, particularly for flagship titles such as Sonic, Mario, Zelda and more. The site is already set up for it as well in the sense that it would be easy to just not enter a score and leave it with the verdict which for me has always taken precedence over anything else. I won't go into any more detail than that being that this is all hypothetical at this point as a deeper discussion about it will probably need to be had at some point but it's interesting to see what happens to other sites reviews now not necessarily as a direct result of what Eurogamer are doing but simply because the timing has been arguably right for a while now. Whatever happens though this site will always have my support for as long as it is - hopefully - required as I do enjoy writing for N-Europe a lot; score or no score. Anyway, interesting times indeed.

Imagine if M2 were to rebuild Panzer Dragoon Saga from the ground up with modern technology but remaining faithful to the original at the same time. There would even be scope for using the gamepad as well, especially in battles being that they are centred around moving 360 degrees around your airborne enemies, they could include either a first person 'Dragon Cam' or even a view from behind as you fly ahead on the TV screen. Yeah... I know, likelihood of that happening is quite probably near zero but there is certainly a market for it, they could quite rightly charge anything from £15 - £25 or more for it too owing to the rather costly legacy of the original game. Oh well, I can dream. Anyway, it's fantastic to see Sega onboard for the VC in any capacity as I didn't think it was going to happen, especially owing to recent changes in circumstances coming about soon.

250 per game, so 6 games worth would be 1500 stars which would buy you... some stationary or something.

Happy Birthday Ashley!
