  1. My Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 @ 2x 2.00 GHz gives 7534.6. That's pretty great EDIT: Closed Firefox and some other apps and managed to get 7568.9. My laptop owns!
  2. Everytime you think that they can't add more cool features to the game they feed you with more Smashing goodness ^_^
  3. I pirated mine, but that's just to keep me playing games. I'm a poor student, and I don't have the money for games. If I wouldn't have pirated it then I'd have to stop Nintendo gaming in general. Let's face it, I'd rather be bad than without. I'm not proud of it, and I'm not trying to defend it, but I guess I fell for it. Rest assured, my study and other activities give me little time to play games at all. My grand total of downloaded games is one...
  4. Wireless today works good enough for gaming. Ethernet is probably better, but the Wii will manage on wireless. Anyway Maase, if you don't have a wireless router (you probably don't), get this: It's made by Nintendo and should cost you €30.
  5. Meh, doubt they have much of an idea what Nintendo's really going to do. Though the camera thing is a good idea and probably will come back in some form or another (tracking motion in 3 dimensions will redefine interaction yet again after all), the system could probably use a device that is 100% accurate in motion tracking (the Wii2Mote) and have some buttons for interaction. I imagine it's very hard to implement such elementary things like walking around or selecting an item based on just registering movement. Also, I doubt Intel will be much of a player on the next next-gen market. IBM's PowerPC architecture, with its RISC instruction set, provides a relatively more efficient architecture for games (and is therefore used in all three current consoles). Even if the companies do decide to go for an x86-based central processor because of its advantages in power consumption and heat dissapation, like Nintendo probably would like, they are probably better off contacting AMD because not only do they produce power efficient x86 CPUs, they are also the owner of graphics chip manufacturer ATI (creator of both the 360 and Wii graphics components), and will probably be advantageous when things like implementation of a graphics chip on the central processor ("AMD Fusion", it's called) itself come into play, which is something we can expect by 2011. I personally hope Nintendo chooses for a x86-based system by AMD, as not only does its Fusion technology make for an incredibly high efficiency for graphics in small, quiet systems, it also makes it far easier for developers to develop for Wii, as it means that it'll essentially be a regular PC, much like the original Xbox. Lastly, I don't think the Wii will last more than five years, simply because by 2011, the Xbox 1080 and PlayStation 4 will be there with control methods to compete with the Wii.
  6. Play it on a 20"/50 cm TFT monitor. Works as good as on a 32"/70 cm TV.
  7. Also, the DS is nearing rapidly to outsell the PS2, which is probably an even more impressing feat.
  8. Eh? Doesn't Capcom own Suda 51? Or was that just Killer 7? Now I'm completely confused. Suda 51 censoring the game, no way!
  9. Bleh, no such people in my flat. Social discipline is what makes the clock tick here
  10. I'm not believing the fact that Suda 51 would do such a thing for one second. Maybe Capcom though.
  11. At least you can tell from the screens the game has decent lighting and geometry (note the trees). The HL2 reminders kind of get me hoping for a Source Engine port to the Wii but that can't be expected... I don't really have much faith in this completely unknown developer though. Googling Deadline by Kando gives someone revealing that this game was originally a PS2 MGS2 clone in 2003. So much for a Deadline...
  12. Making money never gets boring. Get real. Sure they enjoy their job, but corporate decisions are corporate decisions. I really, really hope the Wii's tremendous succes doesn't kill Nintendo's inspiration.
  13. Only Americans are getting the bloody version apparently.
  14. How is this all even necessary when Nintendo have to pull ads to keep down demand? Nintendo don't have to do anything to make the Wii sell like hotcakes. Not that that's good news. Nintendo can do anything they want at the moment and get away with it. They could even raise the Wii price...
  15. To be honest, seeing the presentation of the game, I wouldn't be surprised if the story is an intentional joke.
  16. That doesn't mean anything to me. The games have always had a lot of production value, but the soul is missing. It's like the Big Mac of games; never has a burger been researched to perfection, never has a burger seemed so awefully nice to eat, and never has it been so ridiculously popular in the public, but in the end it's empty and hollow. It's like Twilight Princess (hold your breath). Out of sheer production value, gameplay-wise it's the best Zelda of all times, but there's a lack of soul and therefore it doesn't beat the previous games. Having said that, TP has plenty of soul to make it awesome. GTA feels like you're playing a shell. Only Vice City had some character, I'll give you that. The rest seemed uninspired to me.
  17. Yeah me too. I've been having the feeling all my life. I wonder what'll happen when I stop 'progressing'. Doubt I'll like that.
  18. Anybody who says GTA > anything needs to get his brain out of his arse.
  19. No wai! Don't take Crystal Bearers, it looks awesome. Although, it was a launch game and all we have was a trailer. Come on Crystal Bearers team! Also, WTF @ 1st party game cancellation? What do the Miis have to do with anything?
  20. Integrated graphics cards suck. I would chuck out some money for a Radeon HD 2600 if I were you, they load A LOT of movie decompression off the CPU. Basically means that any CPU and memory > 1 GB will do if you get one of those. You might want to wait for the new Intel Celerons coming out in January if you have the time. They are cheap, powerful enough and very quiet, supposedly.
  21. American free speech is a joke. What a bunch of hypocrites.
  22. Not really. PC gamers rarely miss dual analogs, too.
  23. Legend thread
  24. WTF @ Mario & Sonic?!
  25. Not talking about this thread specifically, but there's a lot of "more epic", "darker", "voice-acting", "real blood" and the likes, which would make Zelda the next thirteen in a dozen action game. It's exactly what the game doesn't need, it's partly what stopped Twilight Princess from shining.
