  1. Wow, the game looks more detailed and a lot cleaner than Tales of Symphonia!
  2. My (potential) killer-apps for 2008 are: Super Smash Bros. Brawl No More Heroes Monster Hunter 3 Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers TimeSplitters 3 Mario Kart Wii (Disaster: Day of Crisis) Okami Wii (Red Steel 2) Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatosk Unannounced/unknown status but likely inevitable are: Animal Crossing Wii Pikmin 3 F-Zero WX New Tales game And purely speculative, but certainly not unthinkable are: Resident Evil Action Game (new or RE2make) Follows succes of RE4 and REUC. 1080 Wii NST is up to nothing at the moment, fits extremely well with Balance Board. Golden Sun/Camelot RPG Camelot is just making some random golf game, have been very quiet over the last two years. New n-Space shooter Several unnamed Wii games in development, boosted their name with technical achievement of CoD 4 DS. Beyond Good & Evil 2 Ancel wants to make it and has been up to nothing since RRR1, where he supposedly got out of halfway, when the team chose to make a minigame collection instead of a platformer. He has had a cold relation with Ubisoft ever since, but has said in an interview he is now working on "I am currently working on a game that means a lot to me, where the foundation is immersion and a sense of incredible journey", which fits BG&E really well. He also says "I really hope that Jade will continue to keep her values and her personality", obviously referring to a future appearance of Jade, and also sneering at Ubi's decision to transform Jade (for the worse) in BG&E 1. The Wii is the perfect platform for a sequel. Kid Icarus 2 Pit's revival in Brawl could tell something, although we have to remember that the Ice Climbers never got any continuation after Melee. The Wii could work very well for a Kid Icarus game however, seeing Bee Mario in Galaxy and the pointing features. New Nintendo IP(s) Nintendo EAD and Intelligent Systems are HUGE studios, but seem to be working on very few games at this moment. They are obviously up to something big, but haven't announced anything. I'm anticipating a new IP. We need more info on all of those titles though, it's so very quiet around Wii development. There have got to be some big secrets here, it's the market leader damn it!
  3. Aye, but the way it works is not very user-friendly and just plain weird. Technology needs to be improved, and that'll only happen through add-ons (not a smart move as history shows, Wii Balance Board is daring enough). For it to become a game standard, it needs to be in a new console, and therefore the Wii2. If the NDS2 gets a camera, it could use eye tracking as well, which would be equally awesome. This isn't limited to TVs.
  4. I really hope for a return of FFCC The Crystal Bearers and that Kirby game. Also, I wonder what Nintendo EAD and Intelligent Systems are up to. They've got nothing to do at this moment, besides Mario Kart!
  5. The_fish reminds me of them seafood pizzas for some reason. My mind works in mysterious ways.
  6. I don't see what's the problem. Driving controls work excellently, and it immerses you into the games much more than poking a stick. I'd refuse to buy any Wii racer that uses the analog stick, as it would completely miss the point.
  7. God damn, I had the hugest post typed in here with a lot of interesting speculation, and then I clicked 'Page Back' on my mouse Point is, it's really silent around Nintendo. How many games are announced that are yet to be released? Very, very few.
  8. Saw it. This, headtracking in general, must definetely be in the Wii2, especially that racing game was fantastic. There are some design issues though; console gaming is different from PC gaming - there's no 'fixed' position you have in front of your console. Also, for third person games I can imagine this works slightly awkwardly. This however will probably bring as much revolution to control as the Wiimote itself.
  9. All logic would tell me to put this on Wii. Let's just hope this is a Wii game with a revamped engine rather than a PS3 title. A PS3 version would not make sense at all.
  10. Yep, it needs more stuff like Excite Truck. Awesome game that is. The Wii needs more of these in your face arcade racers, the kind of racers that make you feel 'FFS this is some awesome stuff' while you are racing. I'm really hoping there'll be an Excite Truck 2 with online (and better multiplayer in general).
  11. To be honest I don't think this will featured in any console. Nintendo could implement a camera, or even two cameras in the Wii2's sensor bar and use eye tracking software for even better interaction without having to wear stuff on your head. Also, I doubt this'll be so great for FPSes. In reality, the gun is moved with your hand, not your eyes, so the so-called interface metaphor is gone. It'll be great for simply looking around though, if it is done subtly (otherwise it'll only cause motion sickness). [saw the vid, never mind this paragraph] The guy does awesome stuff with the Wiimote though, check his other movies. I like the one in which he uses a Wiimote and IR pen to create a touch screen on any surface. EDIT: Just saw the vid and that effect is awesomes It's probably hard to implement it in games really well, but this is some crazy stuff for future consoles!
  12. Promising. Any images from that (you know it has shadows)?
  13. At least they gave Radiohead two spots for one album. That's the least they deserve.
  14. Oh, boohoo. That is not something for you to decide. Anyway, that was not the point of my post. I don't care what you think at all. I'm pointing out that your opinion is not the de facto standard, and that you can't just keep on naming music (and their listeners!) shit. There is no way they deserve that, and I know the internet is an easy medium to be all tough about your music tastes, but it crosses the lines in the way you're doing it now. What I mean with respect is that nobody has the right to be called the names they're called for listening the music they listen to. If you can't give them that, you have no right to be here. How annoying that people don't think alike, isn't it? It's the way the world works - grow up and get over it. The argument is you think it's shit, and I think it's not (and we can get into discussions about technique and composition and the likes but it all comes down to that basic point). Discussions like that are limited, but that's just the way it works. Good and bad are terms like quality - you don't decide what it means. Some people must like music to find it good, for some it's even synonymous. Let them. Also, I don't write off your bands (I hardly comment on them), as I don't know them well and don't pretend to know better than you when to like something and when not to. Very wrong. Quality is a direct consequence of personal opinion, as it's a subjective term. Quality is not an objectively (or by The Bard, or by you) defined something; quality is the sum of all things we find important in certain things, and those definitions vary among people based on their opinions. Would you stop pretending I'm trying to defend my music? The Bard's behaviour is ridiculous, that has nothing to do with my music tastes. Hehe, hiding behind your opinion are you  The bottom line is that everybody is allowed an opinion and discussions and comments are welcome. Continuously shitting over everybody's opinions, resorting to personal insults however, is disgusting.
  15. That's the deal, the beauty of multicore. Mind that counting GHz is a bad way of determining processor speed, it nearly always doesn't apply.
  16. True. Make your own personal judgments if you wish, don't present them as the definitions of good taste. I seriously dislike the lack of respect you have to certain people. Let's make one thing clear here - you are not God. I respect your metal tastes although I couldn't care less for most of the genre, and I wish you could have the same attitude to other people. And please, for fuck's sake, don't be so arrogant to think you can speak in the name of this thread.
  17. I hope the game has been in consistent development and gets a two-year development cycle. The single year RS had didn't do the game much good...
  18. This is a ridiculous thread. It all comes down to the stupid argument of which console is better... How can this be a meaningful discussion? To be honest, I see the 360 has a quality lineup, but I don't understand the people saying that the Wii sucks at all - although it lacks the sheer quantity of 360 FPSes does not, does not, mean it isn't worth it. Get real.
  19. That's like saying "let's just ignore Halo 3 and Gears of War on 360". MP3 and SMG define the Wii, and although they, along with Zelda, are the only definitions does not mean they're not going to change your view on the console. Also, about 600p issue of last page, it means it runs in a 16:9 resolution with 600 vertical pixels, so 1024x600, not HD resolutions. The fact that the box says 720p/1080i/1080p only means it upscales. The low resolution is to blame to the anti-aliasing and (at least in Halo 3's case) HDR rendering.
  20. Ah, the pleasures of gay e-penis porn... Love the interwebs, I do.
  21. CoD 4 runs in 600p on 360 and 640p (I believe) on PS3. That's not HD. Same goes for Halo 3, it runs in 640p. I don't care, really, but all this talk about HD and untapped power is just ridiculous. EDIT: Sourcy. PS3 version runs in same resolution apparently.
  22. Just commenting on this specific argument: games like Call of Duty 4 can't even run in proper beloved HD resolutions on both consoles, so I'd say that the power is nearly tapped. Also, I don't really see why it would be a selling point for the consoles to have the graphics even prettier, as the Wii is no competition in that area anyway. TBH, I share the same worries, but it really has nothing to do with graphics.
  23. Mario Galaxy had so much hype around it that all it could do is fail. It's doing exactly as good as it should.
  24. Tell me about it. University is so much more work than high school...
  25. It's the way business works, I'm afraid. You managed to save up for a Wii while you're 13 (right?)... In 2011, you'll be older and make such money much faster
