  1. Our game was strange yesterday, excellent first half but the second half was such a contrast. Never known a season where both halves of our games have differed so greatly. Genuinely expected Southampton to get a point after that second half performance. Pleased with what I saw of Kagawa. That was more like it. Hope he kicks on now. Transfer deadline daaaaay. I've had this on in work in the background in work...dropped my jaw at the Beckham to PSG deal.
  2. I normally go around parallel, but I'm going to try going a bit lower next time. The trouble is that as there's no mirrors about, it's not as easy to judge how far you are going down. I've found a solution to that, which is a box/stool thing we have in the house, which will take me to at least parallel when sitting on it. Will try to put it into practice next time. Tried using the bench but it was too high. I'm not really flexible so it's a struggle to go really, really low.
  3. I read the BB.com forums and quite a few people are doing the ATG (arse to grass) squats. Looks a lot like this. Not the best pic, but the idea is that your arse is lower than your knees. I go for my knees and arse to be in line or roughly there. Wondering if it's worth attempting these.
  4. Good stuff, dude. Deadlifts are fun. Not feeling too great today, but still went ahead with leg day. Feel like I needed to sweat it out. Managed to do 5 reps of 105.5kg squats, found it easier than last week. Did a final set of 4 reps but struggled as my legs were like jelly. Question: How low do you go on your squats?
  5. Throat is sore as hell. Feel ill and shit. Felt alright up until about 9-ish last night, then the throat soreness arrived. In bed with a cuppa. Early night for me, I think.
  6. We should start the league tomorrow and STILL have cup games. Dragooooo can do both. AC Ellshitester can barely manage the one game per Tuesday. Dragooooo can do two. In fact, let's throw in a reserve team game as well.
  7. I'm using tomorrow's game as a way of trying out new things. Not thinking of getting a win. It won't happen. If I don't lose 4-0 or more, then it's a success.
  8. Hmm, think you're all going a bit overboard. Jay had it right, first date nerves and all that. He hasn't done it for a while so he's going to be "out of practice". Also, if she was in a strange environment with people she doesn't know all that well, then she's bound to not feel comfortable. Seems pretty reasonable. First date that mostly went well. Both had nerves, some minor (but not serious) mishaps, and all is now good. I'd remember what not to do next time and just enjoy it. I do see most of her points, really.
  9. I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. There is much more to it than simply "they play consistently well", such as their natural quality, the training that they've had, the diet and facilities on offer, the fact that many of them are good enough to represent their country. For example, there's a lot more to Xavi's game than he simply "plays consistently well." It's a tiny bit naive to think that's all there is to it. I'm not sure I'd have played them together against anyone. They're not very forward-thinking players, they're both a bit too defensively minded, especially with the roles they play. Granted, there was more than enough in the side to beat Oldham. But, Liverpool have showed that they have gaps and can be beaten. They're not the team they once were.
  10. It was a strong team, tbh. Looking at it, there was more than enough to win that game. Only question mark would be whether he should have played both Allen and Henderson.
  11. I wouldn't know, I don't read that drivel. I would advise others to do the same. You have to admit though that with the quality of players that are in the Spurs and Liverpool side that they should be beating teams from lower leagues. As well as teams such as Oldham and Leeds play on the day, there has to be an element of Spurs and Liverpool not playing all that well. It shouldn't really take anything from Oldham or Leeds, since they both played really well and you have to in order to beat teams like they did. Liverpool don't really have much of an excuse, but Spurs played with Dempsey up front, which is bizarre. Their own fault for not buying a striker, mind.
  12. Because it's much more fun to slag off Liverpool and Spurs. Bit of a daft question, that.
  13. Body is tired today. Worked my back yesterday (pull-ups, deadlifts and rows, with some shrugs) and am feeling drained. Need some moar food! Thought about having another workout today but I wouldn't get much out of it, I think. Deadlift was 110kg for 4 this time, which I managed two sets of. Getting better. Need to involve the legs more.
  14. I laughed so hard at the ITV report when they mentioned the Chelsea game. "A rare goal from Fernando Torres..." So smooth.
  15. Ah, I'm showing my age now! About your post responding to Daft about problems in London: A problem is a problem. Whether it's sex trafficing in London or slavery in other parts of the world, neither are right. We shouldn't really knock some of those problems because others have it worse elsewhere.
  16. Tottenham and Liverpool went full retard and lost their games today. If Spurs don't buy a striker now, I'd pay to see Dazzy's response to that.
  17. I'm very confused now as to what this thread is about. Are you saying that you're feeling guilty because you don't feel guilty? This reminds me of all those Ludacris Inception memes.
  18. Ah, my mistake with that one. My point still stands, if you want to change things, then give it a try, but be reasonable. You're not going to change everything, but changing someone's life for the better is do-able. Unfortunately, a lot of the problems that you mention are down to leadership, like you mentioned with Nigeria and Saudi Arabia. A lot of these problems can be helped by the people in power, but a lot of us don't possess that.
  19. Watched our game yesterday and thought we played good football, particularly in that first half. Should have been around 4 or 5-0 going into half-time. I love Anderson. Apart from his problem with injuries and fitness, he is class. He picks up the ball and drives forward like a battering ram. Has to be said that we created more thanks to the likes of him and Nani. Great performance. Chelsea salvaged a 2-2 draw against Brentford. Benitez for manager of the season.
  20. It shows he's passionate and emotional. :p
  21. Felt quite sorry for Murray, as he looked physically spent during a lot of that match. Djokovic looked fresher.
  22. It's not really the right way to live to feel guilty all the time about something that you personally have no control of. I'd feel more guilty if there were problems right in front of me that I was doing very little to sort out. Everybody has problems and there is suffering everywhere, but on different kinds of levels. I wouldn't say it's a selfish attitude, because it's not. Not everyone can be a Mother Theresa, and even then for every one person you help, there are hundreds more out there who also need it. But, if there are people nearby who you realistically can help, then that makes more sense to me, imo. Didn't you say before that you've never had a job in your life and are pretty much set up for the rest of your days anyway? If so, then maybe you could go out and do something voluntary.
  23. ...I don't really understand the point in this game. Is it literally just a port of the 3DS game, or is there more to it than that? Just shows Capcom's mentality these days. Bleed something dry.
  24. I don't agree with that at all. I have a feeling that if you went back and tried him again, especially the first two battles, you'll feel the same way. It's almost prescribed the way you can only truly hurt him at certain points. The actual final battle against Demise was better, imo. A duel of the Titans. Surprised we didn't have more moments like that during the game. I can't watch that video against Ghirahim without getting annoyed. Not necessarily because it's "hard" or anything along those lines, just the fact that it's just rather annoying and surprisingly tedious. Being made to do it multiple times isn't creative.
  25. The Zelda games have some of the best boss fights. But, Ghirahim is not one of them (or three). In fact, you should be ashamed for suggesting that. Skyward Sword is utterly dreadful for its bosses. Majority are unimaginative and they are too repetitive. Case in point, The Imprisoned. Three Times. Nothing fun about that, considering the actual battle itself is pretty darn bland. Like you mentioned, Stallord: Much, much better. Fun, imaginative, different, unique. What bosses should be. Not just simply an enemy with an oversized health bar with a fight that is too repetitive. The Zelda games have that balance right. They are creative enough that they never really seem like a chore. Twilight Princess, as much as its hated, contains some of the best bosses in the franchise. What I didn't like about that Xenoblade boss fight was the execution of it. It wasn't really imaginative, it was almost a grind fest. Keep doing this until this happens, then do this, then do that all again. All the while, your party can get destroyed and all you can do is try to heal them in vain. There are times when it gets ridiculous.
