Just a heads-up, don't forget to grab your free 'Golden Hurly' and 'Draggle' familiars. They're now available on the PSN webstore and will probably appear on the console with the store update later. If you're a bit too excited about the game and just NEED to download them now, like me, you'll need to search the store under the familiars names as they're not listed under Ni no Kuni as yet.

That looks gorgeous Hero and I certainly agree about the horrid cheap looking super slims, should I get a second (back-up) PS3 I may have to picking up one of those white ones. Lovely. On topic, my Wizard's Edition has just been dispatched by shopto, really can't wait now.
-
Damn! Mine is still sitting in preorders. Was it the standard edition or Wizard's you went for and when did you preorder?
-
I've been looking forward to this for a while now and it was one of those games (among others) that convinced me that I needed to make the switch from 360 to PS3 just after E3 last year so I'm glad that it's reviewed so well. It's not often that I take the plunge on special editions but something about this game made me just HAVE to preorder the Wizard's Edition which I can't wait for...........not long now.

Surprised this site is still going, seeing as it's probably been three years since my last visit . Just been browsing this thread and a little surprised by Andyliini's comments regarding exclusives on the various platforms, but each to their own. After all, we all have different preferences regarding games and I'm not going to start getting into 'THAT' which console debate. Personally, in my time away from this place, I subsequently got bored with the Wii so ended up going temporarily down the Wii360 path until I just dumped the Wii altogether. This was back when the 360 still offered exclusives that interested me, sadly those days have since passed and that console has now also bitten the dust, I really need to update my console information should I decide to stick around here. Just after E3 last year, I finally took the plunge for a PS3 and TBH, I haven't looked back in the slightest. The exclusives on the console are of much more interest to me and I don't think I've spent as much time gaming over there last 7 months than I have done previously. There's still plenty more over the coming year for me to look forward to, but again, that's just my preference.

Top 5 of the year underlined, in no particular order On 360 Both Viva Pinatas - late to the 360 and grabbed these new for a fiver each, haven't played as much as I expected I would Mass Effect 2 - just brilliant, enough said Darksiders - fantastic new IP and a pleasant surprise Bioshock 2 - it shouldn't have worked but did, just Condemned - another catch up game, brilliant and genuinely terrified me in places Bayonetta - not usually my cup of tea, but loved it Batman Arkham Asylum - brilliant, why I waited, fuck knows Silent Hill Homecoming - hardly touched it Resonance of Fate - brilliant, completely underrated and my first ever 1000G game Dantes Inferno - great atmosphere and enjoyable even if the subject matter was butchered Backbreaker - A brave attempt to reinvent American Football games, works to some degree but fails in others Alan Wake - Enjoyable but didn't justify the wait Red Dead Redemption - just brilliant, enough said GTAIV - another catch up, loved it Just Cause 2 - kept me occuppied more than it should have SBK X - better than previous efforts, but handling still seems a little off Final Fantasy XIII - better than the low expectations I had, broke my original 360 Assassins Creed 2 - another catch up, loved it but felt it dragged a little Castlevania LoS - brilliant reboot which I loved, my only other 1000G game Enslaved - great but a little too short Deadly Premonition - completely fantastic narrative and a certain charm Fable III - fantastic until you become Ruler, crap after that Fallout New Vegas - slightly preferred it to the already fantastic FO3 Vanquish - great but short, Gears on speed On Wii (may have been a couple more, can't remember and console now traded) Rune Factory Frontier - charming and immersive Dead Space Extraction - sorry, but complete garbage Muramasa - brilliant, give me the rumoured XBLA release Fragile Dreams - the best game I played on the Wii this year

Finished this about a week ago and loved it. The final couple of battles did seem a little weird and out of place (even for this game) but even so, didn't detract from the experience. I managed to do all the side quests and find all the trading cards so I needn't do them on subsequent playthroughs, although I'll probably end up doing so anyway. I need to crack on with Fallout: New Vegas and Fable III, both of which I only picked up yesterday, and then I'll likely be giving this another run through. @ JaySeven, I agree with what you said about the most annoying bits, especially the first one you listed .

I've been taking my time through this and trying to get as many side missions/cards as possible. Almost midway through the side missions and I don't appear to have missed any yet, although I did run it close because of the initial confusion regarding chapter/episode numbering. If I have missed any I'll either try to grab them on my second playthrough or do a chapter replay. Also currently have 35 cards, which I've avoided reading because I'd also heard about potential spoilers.

My copy got delivered yesterday. I'm only on Episode 1, Chapter 5 or 6 (Sawmill) and this thing is really beginning to grab me. I wasn't sure initially, due to some of the numerous flaws but I'm certainly glad I stuck with it because it really is shaping up to be an experience and I'm getting used to some of the gameplay quirks. I've already spent a little too much time just exploring Greenvale so I dread to think how much of a timesink this'll become once things open up more.

I've read some reports about FFXIII potentially killing 360's and I'm curious as too whether anyone here experienced this*. The reason I'm asking is because it looks like my console is on the way out with regular disc read errors, frequent freezing and intermittent sound problems. The issues are most noticeable with FFXIII and certainly seemed to have become more frequent since I recently started playing it but unfortunately the problems look to have spread to other games. Just not enough issues for the thing to RROD. I was going to grab an 's' model soon, so it looks like I have a valid excuse now but I think I'll make sure I'm done with FFXIII before sticking it anywhere the new console (just in case). * It'll probably teach me for playing this game, although I did enjoy it more than I should have.

Definitely something I'll be keeping an eye on.
-
However good it may turn out to be, I'm not interested in the slightest because I'm getting a little sick of seeing Mario turn up in everything.
-
May have spoke to soon. Metroid and DK have definite potential.
-
Perhaps I'm getting jaded but nothing of interest so far, although I will reserve the right to change my opinion on Zelda if it 'was' actually interference that made the controls look like crap.
-
Great. Instead of whoring out Mario on individual sports they decide to bundle them all into one game.
-
Hope they work on responsiveness.

[E3 2010] Microsoft Conference General Thread

Possibly, but wouldn't most of the people that want those types of 'experiences' already have (and quite possibly got bored with) the Wii anyway. -

Well that was a complete pile of shit. The only reason why I may end up having to pick up a Slim at some point is because my current machine is being arsey. Nothing really game-wise of any interest barring Codename Kingdom but they didn't show anything of it. Focusing on the Kinect garbage was a complete waste of time and nothing even slightly appealing there. Of the other shit, only the free ESPN stuff may have been any good (for me anyway) but do doubt that won't make its way over here. What a bust. -
There's a very good chance that I'm going to be selling my Wii soon (not going to get into why here) but I did have a brief question which I hope someone can answer. If I decide to format the system memory and unlink the shop/NoE account, as recommended, what would happen to the 19 or so VC games that I had downloaded? The are already backed up on an SD card, so if I included the SD card would the new owner still be able to play them, considering the aforementioned formatting and unlinking. I would assume so, but wanted to make sure before I get around to listing the thing.

I haven't been around here for a little while, so excuse what could be considered spam. But.... Even though the money men ruined the sport for me a few years ago and I stopped going, I have and will always have a soft spot for CPFC (previously a season ticket holer for nearly 10 years). The financial situation at the club has now reached critical and there is every possibility that by 3pm today it will no longer exist. Even if you don't support Palace, and the fact that petitions rarely work, anything must be done to protect a club with a solid history. Thanks. http://www.gopetition.co.uk/petitions/save-crystal-palace-football-club.html

Spolier free update: I'm currently in the middle of my first Autumn/Fall (unfortunately a laptop breaking down and spending days sorting out the new one has taken all my time so I've had to leave the Wii alone). Cleared out the first dungeon but still returning to maintain crops there, still working through and positioning myself better for tackling the second dungeon. I've still only grabbed a couple of house upgrades, befriended a few monsters and made slow but steady progress on a couple of females. I've decided to focus on going after Cinnamon as she seems to share my anti-social tendencies, that'll be an interesting wedding although it is still a while off yet. Truth be told, I'm spending far too much time just dossing about the village, not doing much so progress has been quite slow, but then I never intended to rush through this anyway. The Runey system is a pain, but once you get used to it, it is bearable, unless you decide to go after 'prosperity' in all areas, you can get through by ignoring the runeys for a few days. I've had a couple of occasions where things got hairy for a while and a couple of areas were close to drying up completely, but I was just about able to attend to them in time. I haven't both going after 'prosperity' myself, only because I really don't need the hassle, so it has slowed my progress a little, but nothing that has killed crop production completely. It would have been much simpler if you could have had easy menu access to the Runey map rather than having to either track down Candy or visit the Clock Tower. I don't feel that the system breaks the game and, depending on how much you want to throw yourself into the game, the extra challenge/strategy may even be considered a bonus.

It's the whole loading issue that is putting me off ToT, the loading in this is an annoyance but it's tolerable. As for AWL, I agree that it felt polished and fresh but the one thing that completely ruined it was the forced marriage. At least let me take my time when deciding if/when I get hooked up because I honestly didn't feel motivated to play too far into the second year on any of my attempts at it.
-
In a word, YES (but you probably knew that I was going to say that :p). Not only has it kept me off of the 360, it has relegated both Resonance of Fate and Just Cause 2 to my 'summer drought search bargain list'. It has also prompted me to hunt down a cheap copy of HM: AWL because I regret selling it, despite it being by far the worst in the series. And, I suddenly feel compelled to give ToT a look despite it's apparent faults, although when I'll get the time for those is another matter. This game has a lot to answer for. In other news, I have just opened up the next dungeon but didn't get very far because the monsters in there promptly kicked my arse. Time to get back to the forge methinks.

And just in case anyone else needs convincing, the above post speaks the truth. Today was the first time that I switched on the 360 since last Wednesday and even then, all I could think about was getting back on this so it wasn't on for long. It's been a while since I've left the 360 alone for that length of time so that says something. Around 25 hours in, middle of my first Summer and it was only now that I cleared the first dungeon, because there is just so much going on in this game. I'm still not turning over as much money as I would like but then I really should stop hanging around at the beach . Just a fantastic game, it probably won't beat out LKS as the best game on the Wii (IMO), but it won't be that far away either.
