I'm really liking some of the new mon (yes, they've all leaked), one of them is very suspicious and I'm absolutely certain they'll be getting a new form in a later game.

No midnight release for the Japanese demo eShop is already slowing down so I can only imagine the fun in store when the demo is actually out
-
Currently making sure both of my 3DS units (One UK and one Japanese) are ready for the demo as soon as they're out, presuming the servers don't instantly crash.

I had my first experience with virtual reality yesterday and fuck me, although these were full blown attractions, I was really impressed and it completely corroded my cynicism. Over the weekend, the city I'm in had many events over the city as part of a VR Festival. I had no idea it was going on so when a friend invited me out to go have a look after we had some lunch I was well up for it. We went for the interactive attractions rather than the other demos around the city as it seemed the most interesting and we weren't let down. First up was Urban Coaster, we were strapped with HTC Vive's, stuck on swinging seats in front of these huge ass fans and the effect was incredibly convincing. It was pretty awesome getting an overhead view of Tokyo whilst riding a virtual reality roller coaster. Here's a video of someone using it, neither of us seemed that scared by it heh Next up was Hashilus, a horse racing simulator that was on a fully interactive seat that rocked around in time to the horse running along. This was easily the most impressive of the two, we both came off the thing exhausted and it seems we both nearly fell of at some point. I can only find a video of an older version, our one had a stick we could use as the jockey whip and I was really impressed by the visual tracking of the object, I spent the moments leading up to the start of the race moving the whip in many different motions just to see how accurate the tracking was. I can understand the hype after using it for the first time and it's amazing this is just the beginning of it being in consumers hands.

I'm going with home console you can take with you, though I'm not completely decided. Being primarily portable and then plugging it in at home is not new and doesn't seem worthy of the silence, but what if it's the much rumoured supplementary device that makes it so 'revolutionary'? I hope it's a home console that you can take out with you but with reduced performance, it seems like that would have been something that could have given the Wii U that huge fucking edge it needed.

Oh we already know your booty game is on point, it was just so damn obvious it didn't need saying.

No sarcasm mate, I've been going every weekend and there's been no notices or posters advertising the fact so it's pretty useful to know. Going tomorrow as it's time for Team Aqua to make an appearance

Fucking hell @Serebii , cheers for the heads up about the Pokemon Center renewal in Sapporo! I had no idea it was moving, it's a shame, I'm going to miss the Esta Pokemon center! But at least I get a special Alolan Vulpix :3

I'm curious as to whether or not there are N3DS enhancements. If not, what a wasted opportunity.
-
If this is a trade off so the game runs better without having to set aside power for the 3D functionality, I'm more than happy about it. Confusing how they struggle with it though, given Capcom seem to have mastered it

Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!
Debug Mode replied to Serebii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Being a Nintendo employee must be hell right now, but when you look at the situation as whole, Nintendo have been very smart to let it boil to this point as everyone in the gaming world is curious as fuck to know what exactly it is. -

< [MOD EDIT by Rummy] : I edited the language out of the original post for a reason, but well done in ignoring that and repeating yourself in this post. Infraction issued for it. Whilst I don't wish to dismiss the point of this post and will leave it here, the point could have been made without using the same language again. > I get where you guys are coming from, I really do, that's why I tried to go with the angle of "acting like a c***" instead of straight up calling him a c***. Guess it didn't have the desired effect. My apologies, I'm just at the end of my fucking rag of coming in this thread and seeing Ronnie act the way he does and the bitch and moan about how negative the place is. Admittedly there is the option of just muting him, but that kind of affects the continuity of some of the posts and rules out the possibility of us engaging on positive terms when he does contribute in a reasonable manner (which he does mostly do). In regards to H-o-T's post though, maybe the reason Serebii doesn't want to post the particulars is because we get a certain few users who go a bit too far and slag off his credibility at the slightest mistake? I've done it myself in the past, but come on, let's just keep it to banter. This reveal can't come soon enough, that way we can get about arguing over real things that matter, like the lack of voice chat. -

Serebii has been wrong multiple times in the past, but he's also been right on things and to be honest, given his involvement in the Pokemon community, he's at least bound to hear some shit from someone who knows what they're talking about. This kind of attitude doesn't foster good conversation. I'd rather Serebii come out with his guess that he's heard on the grapevine and we all have a giggle (or sensible chuckle, your choice) when it's wrong. Like come on, what have we got to lose? We aren't hearing shit from any one right now and it's just a little bit of entertainment to keep us occupied from the fact we have no fucking idea what's going on at Nintendo. -

Wait, am I missing something? Is something due to happen this week? We've still got 2 weeks until the financial briefing -
So less than a week to go until we find out just how many new Pokemon there are going to be, unless they've ramped up the encryption on the demo.

I highly suggest reading this page on Wikipedia after reading the chapter. Folks who are anime only, don't click the link! -

You reading it son? Because holy shit, what a fucking chapter, huge info dump. -
Got my first part time job in Japan, helping Japanese people practice their conversational English at a cafe. Now to secure more part time work with more hours as I'm not too sure how many they'll have available for me!

I tapped on this before, but I still think the possibility of a delay is very real. It's not just the pound, the yen is back to the highs which directly attributed to reduced profit outlooks for Nintendo back during the 3DS launch (and Wii U now that I look back on it). A strong yen completely fucks up stuff for Japanese companies as it's harder to sell products at more attractive prices as they receive a lot less yen in return. Just in case there's people who are struggling to follow just how severe the current issue is, let me give you an example using the British market. 2015 GBP to JPY exchange rate: 184.3 2016 GBP to JPY exchange rate: 128.3 I'm using a figure of £300, which I'm using as an example of a home based NX console wholesale cost (based on completely nothing but purely to demonstrate my point). GAME buys, or more accurately, secures the credit to buy a unit direct from Nintendo. Today, Nintendo would receive roughly 38490 yen ignoring all the banking and foreign transaction fees. This time last year, assuming the unit cost was exactly the same, Nintendo would have received 55290 yen. To put that in perspective, last year, assuming they were happy with 38490 yen and wanted to sell the thing as cheap as possible, they would only need to sell the unit to the retailer for £208.90, nearly a whole third cheaper. Now, we're a bit of an extreme example, but we're not the only market that's seen reduced JPY conversion. The dollar has been on the slide against it too and the Bank of Japan has already said that if traders don't stop their currency trading shenanigans they'll make their move (widely speculated to happen if USD/JPY breaks below the 100 yen mark). Right now, the market is not ideal for Nintendo to go release a new console which is just their luck really, but how long can they hold off before not releasing it is more detrimental than releasing it in the current climate? One thing is for sure, Britain's going to get fucked on the price, and I've chosen a real fucking shit time to move to Japan and need to secure more work as soon as possible. -

This post sums it up best. I sometimes watch Lets Plays, but I immediately disregard them if they have no commentary and it's a straight rip as that's not the fun element to me, it's the entertainment provided by the player that makes it so much more engrossing. For example, I really like watching Werster's Pokemon speed runs, but I can't watch it if there's no commentary as it's just not as fun or informative. Hearing the freak outs when shit goes wrong, the explanation of the game mechanics as he abuses the ever loving shit out of it, the banter (and general confrontation) with people in his comments etc
