  1. Woah woah woah, that's some heavy accusations you're raising against the Papa there buddy (I honestly have no idea what's come out but I'm the kind of asshole that turns a blind eye to things in exchange for free pizza)
  2. Not sure if it'll put the people here who are scared of spoilers more at ease or more tense, but hackers have already got the demo data but are having significant trouble even getting it to run, never mind data mining it.
  3. To be honest, if some one said to me "You're going to get a Papa Johns pizza sent to your apartment on the 10th of October" and then I found out the NX was getting revealed as well, I'd be more excited for the pizza in my current state.
  4. I like the second stage evolutions, but also disappointed at the same time as it seems the leaks of the final evolutions back in June are very likely to be the real deal now
  5. So yesterday, I bumped into Ghetsis at my local Pokemon Center. You've probably seen it on Serebii's site, but over the next month and a bit, the teams will be hijacking Pokemon Center's across the country and for Sapporo, our first team was Plasma. Got myself the Hydreigon being distributed and was surprised that my UK copy of Omega Ruby was also able to receive it which was never possible in previous generations. So, although this will probably be dominated mostly by nostalgia, which team is your favourite? Although mine is Team Rocket is because I just like their simplistic design and thuggery and the fact they were the team that makes the most sense, Team Plasma did reignite my hopes for antagonists that actually made fucking sense so they're a close second. Aqua, Magma and Galactic were just a bit too out there for me to find them as interesting as I did for Team Rocket so having the fifth generation open up with a team that were supposedly fighting against a common criticism of the theme of Pokemon, enslavement of animals and making them fight. Although the series has actively rewarded you for treating your Pokemon kindly, from an outsider's perspective Pokemon battling is quite a cruel idea. And let's not forget, Ghetsis is probably the most evil out of all the leaders due to his blatant brainwashing and the fact he actually attempts an attack on the player which I believe hasn't actually happened before in a Pokemon game. So how about you guys?
  6. This is actually the most believable theory to come out as of late. I said in a post earlier on that something has to come out this month as the investors aren't going to stay quiet with the little information they have on a device due to launch in half a year's time. Waiting until January for a full reveal would be hell for us fans though god damn!
  7. Well, today was the day, and fuck me what a disaster aha. So just a recap for those who didn't see or can't remember, got tipped off that a certain cutie I had taken an interest in has taken an interest in me so I invited her to hang out for lunch and go to the arcade. She invited a girl to come with us who's also a friend of mine, some one who can't speak Japanese whilst she can't speak English. So I spent most of the time translating back and forth which was a pain in the ass, but fuck the lunch was so embarrassing. Figured I'd go for some nice pork rice bowl and it came with some miso soup, fucking A. But no, it's served in one of those weird bowls that has another bowl covering the top and thanks to the beauty of physics, the heat created a seal and as soon as I pried it open the fucker went all over me. I asked both of them to kill me, but unfortunately I still seem to be living. Game center was pretty good, but out of consideration for the other girl who doesn't really like games, we didn't really hit up like the rhythm games like we were intending to and stuck to safe bets like Mario Kart and the crane games. Hit up the local park and chilled for a while as it was a bizarrely warm day for October, 25 degrees around 1pm. Still doing my translating shit so no one was left out, but ironically after it all ended I felt like the one left out because of all of the leg work I had to do to maintain the conversation. A fun yet embarrassing day, but in the end pretty disappointing as it turned out I was the third wheel when I was the one who came up with idea to go out aha. Going to pull the plug on putting in any more effort as I think what she was interested in was the fact that I speak English and Japanese rather than interested in me as a person (very common issue from my experience in Japan), so I'm going to test the water by retreating a bit and seeing how she reacts. It wouldn't have felt too bad if I actually learned more about her so I could work out if I actually dig her, but oh well! A barmaid from a bar I frequent got in touch asking me to hang out on Saturday but I had plans already, so we might be seeing each other this week. Guess I'll see how that goes instead!
  8. So I get the feeling this thread is going to be the home of my Japan arcade blog, but there's a game that's insanely popular here right now in the rhythm game corners, and it's called Chunithm Air. It's quite an interesting set up for an arcade machine, the inputs are done through a bar below the screen which sort of looks like it's meant to be a keyboard. The interesting aspect about it is though, the lights beneath light up the controls and, depending on the difficulty of the song, you could have only two buttons or up to 16 individual keys for the game and that's not even all the inputs needed for the game as there's also a hand sensor. Sometimes, you'll get keys that want you to raise your hand, and there's also keys where not only do you have to raise your hand, you have to slam it down once the command appears. I gave it a go as there were lines upon lines of people waiting for their turn on the Sunday (the busiest day), so I went back during a time when the arcades were dead. Again, just like most rhythm games, I'm absolutely terrible but my god this game is addictive. Quite an interesting array of songs, Sega seems to be a big contributor yet again (All I want by The Offspring is present, which made my day) but you'll also see the regular stuff like anime themes, vocaloid songs, Touhou Project and batshit insane originals designed to kill all of your energy. I'll include a video, like last time, of what the highest difficulty looks like. Which is always amusing as I'm standing their panicking on regular hard mode (Master is 3 difficulty settings above that)
  9. Got my first interview in Japan lined up next week, they want me to perform two demo lessons. This should be interesting/destructive.
  10. Guys, it's October, and we still don't know what the NX is. It might not even be made by Nintendo, this could all be a ruse.
  11. I was thinking the same, the buttons would have to protrude a significant amount for them to be the only buttons to cast that big of a shadow!
  12. Which will take a year at least after launch given how the last two consoles have fared
  13. Genius idea, I'll definitely have to play that! So I'm currently at a guest house until I get a job and a decent pay coming through each month before I go apartment searching. The girl I've got my sights on (And apparently has her sights set on me) was a guest of someone who lives here when they had a party the other weekend, I couldn't make it due to other plans but when I got back they were all still there and me and her sat talking for a couple of hours. As much as I don't really dig not having my own private shower or toilet, meeting people this quickly and easily is a good perk, even if I already have friends in this city already.
  14. Well, the wait will be over shortly, there's an investors meeting next month on the 26th and it's only logical that the reveal will be before that. If not my money is on a delay which isn't entirely out of the realm of possibility given that Nintendo attribute a lot of their lost earnings to the strength of the yen and the recent economic panics hasn't helped.
  15. Got a birthday coupon from the Pokemon Center yesterday, figured I'd get 5% off of this!
  16. So, progress report, one of her friends spilled the beans to me today that the girl I hung out with yesterday has apparently taken an interest in me. Given my lack of confidence I can only assume this is all an elaborate joke, but I went ahead and asked her if she feels like hanging out later on in the week if she's free. So apparently we're hanging out Saturday night but, just like yesterday, it's not just going to be the two of us. Luckily with how this language works, I was able to turn her message around slightly, it essentially translated to "Shall we invite ___?" (implying she wants me to invite them as the person in question doesn't speak Japanese) and instead of going "Sure" I said what basically means "It's okay to invite ____" (liberating myself from the role of inviting her). Waited to see how that would pan out, and like I said earlier, there's going to be a third person heh. I'll see how this goes for a while, not sure if it's a cultural thing or not but if I can't get rid of the third wheel after a couple of attempts I'll just flat out ask if she's okay with it just being the two of us or just bail. Very weird stuff. The mutual friend of ours seems trustworthy and was really gunning for me to rally confidence and do something about it, but inviting the third person makes it seem like she's uninterested in that way? That'd be a red flag back in the UK.
  17. I was about to ask what the fuck are you talking about, but I completely forgot about the Korean rating board spilling the beans that a demo might be coming out
  18. This could be a good plan, she did say she wants to practice her conversational English.. Though the possibility that I have completely misread the situation and she gets creeped out by the hug still exists haha She's Japanese and it's fucking rare to find a Japanese hugger so my confusion was understandable, guess I'll find out soon!
  19. Someone fucking shoot me. Cute af girl invited me out to lunch as it's my birthday, but I made a fucking huge error. I'm so fucking awkward I didn't realize that she went to hug me when we met, and then withdrew when I was confused as to why her arms were extended. It's over before it even begun.
  20. Oh, we're talking about the level ramp between facing Blue and facing Red? Oh jeez, really? I always considered Red as like the super boss of the game and the jump was to be expected. Back in the day when they had no such thing as battle facilities (which didn't happen until Crystal), what else could they do? They only had one set of AI back then, which was so easily abused it was incredibly amusing.
  21. For the authority on Pokemon your opinion sure is shit (mad bantz) Honestly, I think if Gold and Silver came out today, it wouldn't be as well revered as it is, but it was the perfect sequel game to the original. At a younger age, it didn't feel so empty, I loved the Johto region and when you wind up in Kanto in the post-game, it blew my god damn mind as a kind. What I don't understand is your accusation of it having a horrible level curve, I never needed to grind, not even as a kid. What I did need to grind in though was fucking Black and White's post game (sequels had the same issue but not as bad).
  22. Every one knows Gold and Silver were best.
  23. I'm still amazed that rugby monkey turned out to be real, looks like the Chinese leaks are going to be mostly correct
