  1. Disastrous? Personally I loved Super Paper Mario
  2. So no mention of the poor quality writing and storytelling that caused the plummeting ratings? Never mind that the first season was a waste of time, with the most horrendously dull cast and boring plots... let's instead blame backlash and "the terrible way ratings are counted in the US" ?? The series was starting to get good this year, but it's too little too late, and the writers and producers have no one but themselves to blame for the cancellation.
  3. And I thought there was more news on this, dammit
  4. Aww the fake OTT drunkedness from the mod was deleted! :P
  5. Ahh fake OTT drunkedness, gotta love it
  6. Still can't believe how impressive that line-up is. Zelda OOT, Kid Icarus, Monkey Ball, Paper Mario, Lylat Wars, Mario Kart, oh and Pilotwings Resort!! As long as it's more like SNES Pilotwings and not the bloated 64 version.
  7. I can't imagine what sort of game TP would have been WITHOUT those endless delays, but agree with the above, Wind Waker could have done with an extra 6-9 months to add in the extra dungeons. What a masterpiece that would have been. Don't care about delays to SS, I always thought early 2011 was waaay too optimistic. It'll be Christmas 2011 I reckon, which is fine by me. Anyone here going totally spoiler free until it comes out? I'd love to but far too weak-minded so will practically read up every nugget of info from now till it comes out. Be pretty awesome to go into a console Zelda having not heard or seen a single spoiler or have any preconceptions though
  8. I really liked the Snowpeak mansion music, it's the only dungeon music I can remember. Oh I can also remember the City in the Sky "music" I'm also not ashamed to say I got a bit of a fright in that cavern at Lake Hylia after whatever temple it was... Link turns around and Zant's just standing there 2 feet away. That was cool.
  9. That and more basic things like a ridiculously small set of items, certainly not much beyond the reguars, no compass, no wallet upgrades (?), no quarter hearts, no real freedom in terms of exploration, just closed off sections with cutscenes for transitions. It became Accessible to All Zelda. All of which came at a time when Nintendo were going on about being able to draw on the map or blow into the microphone. It makes me wonder about their priorities for Zelda games these days.
  10. Great post Grazza. I forgot how immersive and 'realistic' WW was. Fantastic game. TP does seem like a step down in hindsight. Judging what Nintendo have done with "2D" Zelda on the DS, ie. making it all about the controls and touch-screen, and giving us a dumbed-down Zelda adventure, I wouldn't bet against the same thing happening with SS. For the record I loved Spirit Tracks and will of course wait to judge SS but Nintendo has previous when it comes to prioritising gimmicky controls.
  11. Unfortunately what Nintendo seem to care most about these days, is things like having us "roll" a bomb by swinging the remote zzzzzzzz
  12. Call me a killjoy but the Malo Mart music seems really out of place in a Zelda game. Mario definitely, but Zelda? Meh
  13. The second half of the game definitely felt rushed, and half-arsed. The exception being Snowpeak and it's execution. Temple of Time was the most linear dungeon ever and was the definition of meh IMO. The 10 minutes it took to get there from Snowpeak was also ridiculous. City in the Sky lacked any sort of magic or soul and felt very dead, although the boss battle was outstanding. Palace of Twilight was certainly interesting, but again, too simple and linear. Hyrule Castle, a couple of nice bits I suppose. Whilst WW was clearly missing a couple of dungeons, the rest of the game at least felt full and polished, with the exception being the triforce hunt but personally that didn't really bother me. Ganon's Tower was fantastic.
  14. The 10 minutes it took from Snowpeak (one of Zelda's finest 'chapters' ever IMO) to the Temple of Time was pretty ridiculous and jarring. Then when you got to the latter, it was basically a straight line, easy and, some nice music and sets apart, pretty forgettable. I really get the impression they rushed through the second half of the game. There were far fewer cutscenes and the world felt a lot more empty during the mirror shard quest for some reason. Also I'm convinced they threw Ganon in at the last minute, when they made it a Wii launch title rather than a GC game. That's ok IMO, but I'd have rather this be the boss fanfare at the end of each temple: Audio
  15. Definitely my least favourite 3D Zelda but I found I enjoyed it far more on my second playthrough a year or so later. It was just so incredibly over-hyped that the end product was a bit disappointing. The second half of the game, a few memorable moments apart, felt incredibly rushed and incomplete, and there generally wasn't as much to do in Hyrule as there should have been. (also, surely bumping the old thread and keeping all discussion to that one topic made more sense than starting a new one, who cares how long ago it was used?)
  16. Thanks for heads up, just ordered. Great price!
  17. Daft likes Hipstamatic? That's news to me
  18. Galaxy on Fire 2 is AMAZING. Like a fully featured PC space sim.
  19. Exactly, and as such I'd expect better upgrades to iPhoto than 'full screen mode' which seems to be touted as its main feature.
  20. Are they seriously charging £45 for the privilege of 'full screen mode' and better book making in iPhoto? W...T...F? It's taken a year and a half to come up with those as the main features? And they want to charge an upgrade price of £45?! Movie trailers in iMovie, because that won't get old after a month or two. Lamest upgrade ever. AT LEAST have a £15 upgrade price for existing users or something like that.

    Sadness

I'm not saying it's oscar-worthy, but as computer game trailers go, it was slick and quite well made. Especially for vapourware.

    Sadness

It's a shame because the trailer was very slick and nicely made. Maybe they used all their budget on that.
  23. Dataflame are quite good, although my email tends to f up every few months. No idea how they compare though but been using them for 7-8 years and am quite happy.
  24. Wordpress + WPFolio looks good, I think that would suit what you're looking for really well. I'd personally steer clear of "FriHost"...!
  25. It really is quite fugly looking side-on. Not that it matters that much
