Wow, looking at those bomb shop pics, I really am amazed at just how much they've redone! I assumed clean up the textures, some more detailed modelling, but they've actually tarted up locations in the game! Very impressive. I wonder if Castle town will be proper 3D...?

It'll be interesting to see what the difference in scale will be between this and one of the Galaxy games. Perhaps not such a fully fledged adventure as the console Mario's but something close would be amazing.

Fair enough, and I won't get your hopes up by posting a couple of bird symbols that could mean something to the storyline of the game: We'll see....
-
I know it was only done to save creating Castle town in proper 3D but I really loved that fixed over-head shot when I first played Ocarina of Time, it looked quite cool at the time, especially with the distant background noise

Good spot on the stills looking more colourful Burny, cheers, comparing the two it does seem you're right and the whole video is misleadingly washed out But as for the flying mechanic, fair enough don't get your hopes up but this is what Aonuma said: Which seems to suggest flying will play as big a part in Link's travels as sailing in WW and using the train in Spirit Tracks. If Nintendo didn't want to reveal the sailing aspect of Wind Waker in the first couple of trailers they could have easily shown action from only the dungeons or the larger land masses in the game, which could be what's happened here with Skyward Sword.

In the HD trailer it doesn't look anything like skullkid and more like some sort of spider thing. I'm more curious what the Midna-type companion person assigned to the down arrow is though.

Aonuma's flying hint couldn't have been more obvious, and everything we've seen of this game gives a very strong sky feel. Flying through the clouds for both logo reveals, doors with bird imagery on them etc... - Again, we really haven't seen anything about this game apart from the motion controls, there's still a hell of a lot to reveal at E3. I totally agree. The graphics now look incredibly washed out and dull, which is a huge disappointment. What happened to the vibrant colours of the original trailer? It was like a breath of fresh air after TP, now we seem to have gone even more bland and lifeless!

Beautiful.

I wonder what that strange Shield meter thing is under Link's energy hearts

Nintendo really know how to tease us

Looks awesome, good to see a handheld 3D Mario game. Wonder what the tail could mean, a return for the SMB3 flying racoon tail thing? edit: ok stating the obvious :P
-
That weird Zora like person at the end snapping his/her fingers and disappearing gives me a TP vibe. Actually the whole game does.
-
Gimmicks like sword slashing, door puzzles and balancing the remote for walking on a tightrope (Wii Fit anyone?) seem to be taking over
-
Sort of feel the same way. It looked ok, but was hoping for better tbh. Definitely need to watch it again though

The new SS trailer looked good on first viewing, but the thing that I'm disappointed with was how bland the colour pallette looked, compared to the first trailer, which was far more colourful and beautiful IMO. The visuals also seem to have moved away from Wind Waker, and more towards TP. Need to watch it again though. Fantastic news about a 25th anniversary... something... from Nintendo, can't wait

I've just switched on to the GDC Nintendo stream, I assume Zelda hasn't been mentioned yet?
-
It'd be quite awesome if one of the unlockables in this game was the original SNES background music

Not sure 26 is elderly, but this and the suggestion the Pilotwings logo spins onto the screen makes me

Woohoo new vehicles, and more importantly, phew. Although I'd still like to see the parachute

References to other Zelda games would be very welcome. Wind Waker went all out to reference OOT for instance, and even TP had its moments. It's funny I was just thinking this earlier on today and here we are chatting about it. Let's see a bit of Zelda mythology fanwank thrown in there please nintendo On a different tangent though, I would like to see some sort of musical instrument brought in, it's becoming standard in Zelda games but I reckon it was sorely missed from TP (yes, I know you could make a wolf howl but it was a bit pointless most of the time). The musical aspect really brought a huge amount of magic to Spirit Tracks and obviously OOT and (less so) MM and WW.

Cheers for that.

Time to put a limit on the number of guesses someone can make at once? 7 is taking the piss a tad maybe? Having said that, very tough round! Can't recognise any!

FSA never felt like a proper Zelda game to me, although to be fair it's the only Zelda game I've not played so can't judge, but the format just doesn't feel right.

It is extremely unforgiving but there are shortcuts to get you to the latter sections of the world map as you progress so you're hardly starting from scratch. Also with the last dungeon even if you die three times you restart from the entrance so at least that's something. Oh and you definitely don't lose your experience points when you start over, that would have been ridiculous. It's also IMO one of the darkest Zelda games around, and I loved the way the game presents Hyrule as this gritty gothic-style place, with great locations, mythology, dungeon design etc. Very under-rated I reckon
