  1. Fair enough sorry all
  2. What's debatable? My point that the Hero of Time wasn't granted the Picori blade by the Minish? I think the events of OOT clearly show that isn't the case. So your point above that the MC intro is talking about OOT is rubbish. And what's debatable about the fact the Picori blade isn't the Master sword? They're two different swords, forged for a different purpose. Last time I checked the master sword wasn't able to duplicate Link 4 times. Nor is it ever suggested they are the same blade in the games. You're making up hypotheses without any fact to base it on. Of course there is no concrete proof the Minish cap is first in the timeline, but a few details suggest it likely is: - The hero of men is hat-less, so is Link at the start of the adventure. Ezlo could easily be the reason future heroes adopted the hat as part of their outfit. At the end of the game, the game makes a big deal about Link getting a regular green cap, Ezlo saying 'it suits Link'. Read between the lines, that's the origin of it. - Why call the triforce the Lightforce? It took place in an earlier time, maybe the name 'triforce' was only adopted later on (in all other Zelda games, further down in the timeline) - The Hero of men, most likely King Gustaf, is different from the Hero of time, who came later, once the master sword had been forged. The fact that Ganondorf is never mentioned in the game also means it's a pretty good bet, the game is first. Again, nothing concrete, but there's enough there to show that MC is most likely first. It fits.
  3. What are you on about? The Hero of time didn't have the Picori "appear from the sky" and give him the Picori sword like is talked about in the Minish cap intro. And even ignoring that small detail, the hero of men is shown without a cap. The picori/four sword is not the same as the master sword. Different origin, different power, different purpose, different era.
  4. The hat thing is quite a compelling argument for the reason why all future heroes/Links wore green hats though, ok it's not concrete proof but it makes sense. The intro to MC talks about Gustaf being granted the Picori sword to fight evil, he then becomes the King of Hyrule. Not sure where you got the triforce from the MC intro. It's never even called the triforce in the entire game, just the Light force if I'm not mistaken. It really does make a lot of sense that MC is first in the timeline IMO. The more I read those rumours, the more they sound like bollocks/stuff that anyone can guess/stuff that is unlikely to be on page 1 of Anouma's script.
  5. Sorry how exactly does he explain where MC goes clearly? I like how he makes the assumption that the Picori sword = the Master sword. Conveniently not spending too long on that little "fact". That point is bollocks, MC could very easily be first in the timeline. The rest is ok. A lot of it is speculation though, the games in my post above are pretty much guaranteed. The rest is open to interpretation. Especially since back in the early days of the series, they didn't care about making the games fit a timeline.
  6. I almost wish each galaxy had a 3rd regular star, some are over way too quick, but I suppose there's probably more galaxies in total or something.
  7. The first game chronologically in the series is Minish Cap. Years later, Ocarina of Time takes place, which splits the timeline in two. Child timeline Link goes back to past Hyrule as a child, warns the king/Zelda about Ganondorf's plans and sets off on his adventure in Majora's Mask. The scene in Twilight Princess with the execution of Ganondorf takes place after Link returned to warn the king about him. Years pass as Ganon is banished to the Twilight Realm, meanwhile the events of Majora's Mask unfold, and a new Link is born, in time for Twilight Princess. Adult timeline With Link having travelled back in time, no hero is present to stop Ganon and the gods flood Hyrule, which leads into Wind Waker. After that, there's Phantom Hourglass directly after and Spirit Tracks, which takes place many years later with a new Link. So it's: MC > OOT (child timeline) > Majora's Mask > Twilight Princess MC > OOT (adult timeline) > Wind Waker > Phantom Hourglass > Spirit Tracks Those games are pretty much locked, in terms of chronology. The games before OOT as well as the Oracle games are a bit vague where they take place, probably due to the fact that the producers didn't pay much attention to fitting them into a timeline back then.
  8. Interesting is right. No subtitle seems a bit of a strange idea, but fair enough. Of course they may not have decided on a subtitle yet. The lack of obvious 'dungeons'/bosses will make a refreshing change I'd say. Fewer boundaries is a change I'd quite like to see. The bow mechanic and drawing symbols in doors was always pretty likely. I'm sure most of control methods from Wii sports resort will make an appearance (Swordplay, flying, archery etc) It'll be brilliant to finally see some sort of visuals since the teaser. In game footage could look like anything, we've no idea.
  9. Cool cheers. I assume it's more than Galaxy 1's do everything again with a different character.
  10. Without revealing any spoilers please, is there lots to do after the first 120 stars? As in unique challenges or same old same old with a small twist? Please be vague and non-spoilery in your reply, cheers.
  11. I love the wormhole effect going to the world map and the grand world map, as well as the background music, but still not totally convinced about the mini-hub/map screen. Tales, that's a problem with your wii remote I would say. It worked perfectly for me, never didn't register a switch when I was mid-jump. Brilliant galaxy, so simple, tough but fun.
  12. Loving it. Just got to world 3 so will slow down now. Music isn't quite as amazing so far IMO it's brilliant obviously but not as many memorable tunes as Galaxy 1 so far which is a shame. Loving the old-school Yoshi sound effect when you jump on his back, awesome, shame it's not louder. The cloud level in world 1 was gorgeous. Flipswitch galaxy was awesome, loved the concept, and the difficulty. Ok it's easier with the long jump but more fun the normal way. A Dizzy bee type large scale level would be nice sometime soon though.
  13. I'll be walking into Game on Friday and getting a copy. Seemples.
  14. Don't be so pedantic, I meant Minish Cap or any other 2D Zelda before it. And no, I'm not forgetting that games can be simplified without sacrificing depth. I know what simplifying means thank you very much.
  15. No, but Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks were compared to Minish Cap. Those two games, as much as I love the latter, are pretty much Zelda: Lite. Stripped of many aspects that makes Zelda, Zelda, to satisfy a larger, more casual audience. Who knows if the same will happen to Zelda Wii, but Miyamoto's comments about previous Zelda's being too complicated and the need to simplify this new one doesn't fill me with confidence. Who knows, I hope not.
  16. I really hope you're right as well. Re Galaxy, I don't, no. Not played Galaxy 2 so can't judge. Not too sure on the need for a Hint TV, and the mini-hub world seems a little silly and pointless. Back to Zelda, with Aonuma's big hint about flying being the mechanism for travel in Zelda Wii, what do people think it'll be? Plane, bird/dragon, wings? I's actually say some sort of primitive (and magical obv) plane/glider is most likely. One that can be customised and get new abilities as the game goes on. Be interesting to see what they do...
  17. I'm not trying to complain, all I said in my original point was that I think this new Zelda would be dumbed down, simplified, and made more accessible, in keeping with what they've been doing with other Nintendo games. Hopefully Zelda Wii will be the exception.
  18. Flicking the Wii remote to do a mid-air jump, just in case your first jump wasn't accurate enough. The guides at the start of world 1 telling you how to do every level.
  19. Then cut out the 'I'm right, you're wrong' condescending attitude. That's total bollocks, it was obvious to all that Mario Kart Wii was dumbed down to appeal to the masses that the Wii itself primarily caters for. Every review commented on it, most gamers who've played agree. Zelda DS games are basically dumbed down Zelda games, Zelda Lite. Accessible Zelda.
  20. Please stop talking like you are the expert on all things Nintendo and whatever you say is fact and cannot be disputed. Your tone is extremely condescending. Mario Kart Wii was dumbed down, simple reason, the power slider, they took away a brilliant technique that required a fair amount of skill to pull off well, and replaced it with, well, nothing, to achieve the same effect. The unbelievable rubber-banding and randomness associated with where you placed in a race meant skill played very little part in the game, and it was more down to luck, reducing it to more of a party game. You state that a level-based Zelda won't happen. I agree, it's very unlikely, but who knows, given they've already done one level-based game. I was conveying a fear of mine, that the series will be dumbed down, if Miyamoto's comments about 'simplifying' the way you play Zelda means anything... - It was just a thought.
  21. Mario Kart Wii was incredibly dumbed down. I can't see Nintendo going with the 'big world... explore what you want' route for Zelda. I hope they do, but if anything they have a recent history of doing the opposite, making games more accessible, ie. map screens and levels. Could we see a Zelda Four Swords Adventures type game with levels and chapters?
  22. I really think they're going to dumb Zelda down. Like they dumbed Mario Kart and NSMB
  23. never mind, can't be arsed
  24. Speak for yourself, I loved Starfox Adventures. Fantastic game, with a few puzzles in particular that makes even the ones in Zelda look simple and dull.
  25. Great review guys, thanks for that. Also good to see /10 scores are preferred on this site, rather than the ridiculous percentage scores which wind me up for some reason.
