Dunno, but they wouldn't be talking about TP being "the last Zelda of it's kind" or "big surprises" or keep going on about how this will be a different Zelda if the change was something as small as a different setting. The change is going to be big. Not a negative person at all, quite the opposite actually. Just a little excited but worried at the same time about this new Zelda. Of course we'll all wait and see, hopefully it'll be amazing and inject some life into the franchise.

Fair enough killer kirby By all means expect big changes to the franchise to mean things like a differnet setting, a differnt camera angle or whatever. It's much more likely the surprise(s) are going to be far far bigger. IMO at least.
-
Changing the setting does not equate to: "expect big surprises". mcj_metroid suggested that this is going to be an epic Zelda, ie (I assume) big, lots of depth, and one of the franchise's biggest instalments. I am saying that given there has been zero hype, and the release date will be only a few months after the very first footage is getting shown... I wonder just how big and epic this Zelda game will be. Everything seems to suggest a smaller, rushed game (similar to NSMBW). We'll see..... I hope I'm wrong.
-
Seems a littled rushed and last minute for an epic zelda title. Ok they've been working on it for years, but it's quite likely the release window will be about 5 months after the very first teaser trailer.
-
I think they'll be changing a tad more than just the camera system.
-
Taking a game from 2D to 3D or changing the graphic style but keeping everything else intact is one thing. The changes they seem to be hinting at suggest something very different.

It really is amazing how the above tells us absolutely sweet fuck all. Miyamoto is the master of this. Personally I'm getting a tad fed up of the same "news" stories on Zelda that reveals nothing of any interest whatsoever. I have a seriously bad feeling it's going to be completely different and drastically change the formula. They better not fuck Legend of Zelda up.

Game ratings should be /10. 1, 2, 3 etc... like Edge do it. IMO.
-
I really don't want to know, but expect to find out in a spoiler.
-
Ok Galaxy 1 had 42 galaxies, so looks to be the same this time around.
-
WTF is that Lost 'joke'? Meh, was this really necessary? Is that about the same as Galaxy 1? Sounds interesting Excellent, I loved the Mario 64 Bowser levels.
-
This sounds great. I wonder if they'll consider making a Galaxy 3 if this sells well. The platform and engine is too good to just give up.
-
Totally agree. Very presumptious reviews which mostly tell you very little about the actual game, but their ratings can for the most part be trusted.
-
10 from Edge, impressive, wasn't expecting that. No need for all this 78% or 83.59%, when you have a perfect rating system like that.

I still think Mario's planet looks clumsy compared to the Observatory from Galaxy 1. I've just started playing it again, and the design that went into the observatory really is quite impressive. Little touches like the floor panels lighting up with every grand star collected, with energy pipes leading to the different domes.... - lovely. Mario's planet just looks like a joke in comparison, and not very nice to look at. We'll see...

Personally I don't care about Metroid, I just really hope they don't rush and bring out a half-arsed Zelda. Sucks for Metroid fans though, at least there's Galaxy 2 to enjoy in the mean time. This year always seemed a little too cramped IMO
-
I know we've discussed this before, but to bring it up again.... We're going from the cool rotating/zooming 3D solar system view in Galaxy 1 to 2D maps here zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Yes I will be getting one, thanks. Nothing poetic about it. I was merely stating that your idea of a touch-sensitive rear casing was a fanboyish idea, and extremely unlikely to happen, given Apple's previous history on usability. It would be needlessly complicated and basically, quite silly.
-
Thanks for the links. Those two new videos are awesome, a great selection of vibrant colourful locations and levels. Some of the galaxies look stunning, most do actually. But I HATE that orange luma as part of the logo. Looks totally off.
-
Apple wouldn't be stupid enough to put a hardware keyboard in there, and people really should use a bit of common sense before spouting the above. This is a company that keeps going on about multitouch and dynamic changeable inputs like on screen keyboards. Nah. Fanboyism.
-
I'd like it better if the side alluminium was one piece without any broken lines on the side and top, but apart from that, looks nice. The higer (double?) resolution screen is what I'm really looking forward to though.

I wish the text could be translated. It would be interesting to read what the "STORY" box says. Especially since it looks like the game will start with the letter from Peach (pic 1) and then follow with 2D Mario with starbits coming out of the ? blocks. Actually that 2D Mario world looks fantastic from what we can see. The detail and style is amazing, I wish NSMB Wii looked like that. Articles about Galaxy 2 have talked about the journos being sworn to secrecy on big aspects of the storyline, there must still be a lot to reveal...
-
So Bowser is the baddie again, hardly a surprise but confirmation at least. The hub world actually looks quite fun, if a little small Those 2D levels look interesting. Reminds me of the 'retro' levels from Sunshine, which I personally thought were brilliant.

Everyone in the world knows who Mario is, only the fanboys know who Wario is.

Starfox Wii would be amazing. But then I'm one of the few it seems who really liked Starfox Assault
