  1. Anyone else play (and fall in love with) this gem back on the NES?
  2. I think Iwata being unwell is the most likely reason for the delay. Let him recover and get back to hosting them. A few extra weeks is no big deal.
  3. You and the vast majority of people
  4. The negativity seems to be reaching crazy levels here, it's a big shame. When it comes to their sequels feeling fresh, Nintendo trumps Sony and Microsoft easily. Amusing to imagine the reaction if Nintendo owned LittleBigPlanet and revealed number 3 that is exactly the same as number 2 just with more characters. Sony and Microsoft get a pass on here that Nintendo clearly don't.
  5. A happy medium between both viewpoints would be nice, I would call it realistic optimism.
  6. AND it could also mean it just wasn't fun to play, which in this case applies for you. If you were bored of playing 3D World, maybe platformers aren't for you.
  7. So a game bores you for 90% of your playtime but you never said it was crap. Gotcha.
  8. A level that makes no real sense and is just lots of suspended platforms stuck together is better than the beautifully realised themed levels from the rest of the game? The circus or beep block themed ones or ones where you rode around on a dinosaur or ice skated inside a boot? The rest of the game is crap but Champion Road is great? I don't get your reasoning. You wouldn't be complaining just for the sake of complaining would you?
  9. As with other metroidvania style games, there are gated off areas that require finding certain abilities before being allowed to progress. It resembles Metroid in its structure but obviously the gameplay mechanics are different.
  10. It's the perfect length for this game. Not everything needs to be 50 hours and 200GB
  11. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2014/08/watch_dogs_will_be_the_only_mature_ubisoft_game_on_wii_u_in_upcoming_lineup Sounds like Watch Dogs is definitely still on the way...
  12. It's a Metroidvania style game yeah. I would seriously recommend, I couldn't put it down it was that good. The 1080p version looks particularly lovely.
  13. I'm definitely double-dipping, it was that good. One of the developers who spoke to IGN suggested there would be more different than just 'an easter egg', ie. additional Nintendo themed room(s)
  14. I actually think Skyward Sword placed a much greater emphasis on storyline than say, Twilight Princess did. The latter abandoned any suggestion of a storyline the instant you cleared the twilit areas of Hyrule. From then it just became another fetch quest of oh by the way, find these mirror pieces whilst... nothing happens. Skyward Sword's narrative was more consistent from beginning to end. The problem with the game IMO was the exploration: a disconnected overworld you reach from a hub world. It was a mess. Zelda U seems to be the polar opposite, which is great news.
  15. I sort of agree that Zelda is no longer untouchable. Also with ALBW as much as I adored it, the re-used overworld is still a big problem for me. I play Zelda games to explore, but with this game I already knew where everything was, and so it felt like half a game. Loved it otherwise though, easily the best handheld game since Minish Cap
  16. Played Elite back on the NES (!!) and Frontier: Elite II was one of my favourite games growing up. Needless to say I cannot wait for this game!
  17. I think the reason Nintendo hasn't touched F-Zero for so long is so as not to cannibalise sales of Mario Kart, probably their most important franchise. I doubt we'll see another console Zelda and certainly not a GX re-release, IMO. I would probably guess Galaxy HD Collection. Would sell more than Sunshine.
  18. Did they not get paid for this? Should all people who act in Nintendo ads be given a mention in a future game? As for being "famous", I just don't see that as a good reason. *reads @Fierce_LiNk's post* Ok fair enough, you make a strong argument. I was never against having an NPC named Robin, FAR from it, I just wasn't sure he would have deserved it over other die hard fans
  19. Putting my tin foil hat on, and I don't mean to sound disrespectful, but can I ask what Mr Williams has done to deserve being honoured in a future game? I appreciate he was a celebrity Zelda fan, but why does he get preferential treatment over any other Zelda fans who have passed away? I'm not against the idea at all, far from it, I'm just struggling with whether it's the right thing to do or not.
  20. EVERYONE ignores online petitions, give or take a few, not just Nintendo.
  21. Last year was incredible for 3DS though, it'd be hard for any year to live up to that kind of quality. Having said that things are a little barren at the moment. Still Fantasy Life, Pokemon and Smash on the way...
  22. I still think if Sticker Star was the very first Paper Mario Nintendo had released, people would love it, but because it's "NOT Thousand Year Door" everyone hates it. Personally it's one my favourite games on 3DS, loved it from start to... before the final boss. Worst game I own... Mario and Luigi Dream Team just really boring.
  23. Tearaway was easily one of my favourite games of 2013 so this is made my smile. One of those games where I just didn't want it to end. I actually bought a Vita JUST to play it. I wonder though, seeing as the front facing camera was such an integral part of the storyline, how they'll get by without it!

    Rime

Agree. Plus, when 90% of big games these days seem to involve going around killing people, it's always good to see a rare case where a game bucks the trend.
