  1. Yeah for sure. Do other streaming services give people the option to do both, not just games, I mean Netflix etc? I genuinely don't know, but if not then it'll be some business reason Edit: actually, stupid question, PSN and Xbox do from games at least.
  2. I'm surprised by the business model tbh. I feel like Nintendo would make more money charging £5-10 per game for people to own it outright, than £18 a year for all of them. Ok it'll be more when they add N64/Mega Drive but still. I suppose over the course of 4 years you'll have spent £70 which may be more than someone buying a handful of games in that time.
  3. Looks great, I can't remember the last time Nintendo did a dedicated single player 3D platformer that wasn't Mario (and yes I realise it's made by HAL)
  4. And you know, dozens and dozens of other games. Minor detail that. It's also £18 officially, or £14 at CD Keys or Shop.to.
  5. Decent Direct, good pacing as usual. I wasn't expecting many new announcements with so much already revealed, and that's what happened. If each Direct sells me one at least one big Nintendo published reveal I'm happy, and Kirby definitely did that. Looks great. That Animal Crossing troll though!
  6. They've always been about 40 minutes in the last few years, sometimes even longer. The one in February this year was 55 minutes long. I just think with Metroid, Mario Party, SMT5, Advance Wars, Big Brain Academy, Rabbids 2, Pokemon Arceus + remakes, Splatoon 3, BOTW2, MP4, Bayo 3 we know a lot more upcoming games than we usually do during the Switch lifecycle. Wouldn't be surprised to see fewer game reveals here than usual, but who knows.
  7. It's funny to be going into a Direct with a ton of games already announced for the next 6 months. Recently it's felt like we go into these with very little idea what's on the horizon. So probably not expecting too many big reveals, but always room for 1 or 2 I guess.
  8. Is it actual Winter, ie Dec 21 - Mar 21, or is what the Americans consider winter, the last three months of the year. I'd say Splatoon 3 and one big new announcement are safe bets, plus updates to existing stuff, the Smash character and maybe an NSO update. Sports Story would be nice. Agree with @WackerJr, no Zelda. Maybe Game Awards? Or their Jan/Feb Direct + E3 that year = Nov 2022 release? Hopefully sooner though.
  9. I won't bother saying Silksong news, we all know it won't happen
  10. Visions releases tomorrow and it's apparently another hit for Disney Star Wars. Reviews are glowing. Looking forward to your thoughts @Julius whenever you get round to watching them. I'll prob split the series over the next few days.
  11. I love it when I stumble on a bamboo slice, which is weird given it's pressing three button combos in a row in the space of about 15 seconds, but that says it all about the game.
  12. For me it's one of the most perplexing games of the last few years, one that gets a lot more praise and credit than it's due. I can only guess it's down to the immaculate presentation and theme. Yeah the presentation is superb but to nitpick it can also be pretty unpolished at times. Things like NPC animations and interactions. Or how your mission of going somewhere and killing mongols (because, what else?) involves being on a ship, so you press RT on a little rowboat on land, the screen fades to black, and then fades in to you being on the ship. I've played a few more missions since my post and man, it's getting really tedious doing the same thing over and over. I'm going for the platinum but I have no idea why, probably my annoying completionist self forcing me into doing it when I have no real desire to play this game bar the main missions. But yeah, I wish this didn't have trophies.
  13. I always found the way the screenshot icon would show up in other screenshots really bizarre, it was like that all through the PS4 too. Great they've finally fixed it.
  14. I'm playing Ghost of Tsushima at the moment, about halfway through and I find it's another example of an outdated Sony openworld. A prime example of developers putting all their focus on telling a cool story and building a cool world, and actually making it a fun game is way down the list of priorities. I'm enjoying my time with it but it's incredible repetitive. Every mission is pretty much the same and the gameplay variety just isn't there. They tried to make the openworld BOTW-like in that you just explore and stumble on things, but it still becomes an icon-fest, just a slower paced one.
  15. Most Sony first party openworlds are pretty dated tbh, but yeah Spiderman's was just a means to have you swing around a city. The one good thing it did do though was dish out the collectibles throughout the game, rather than all at once. Made actually collecting them and 100%-ing the game much easier and more fun.
  16. I've no issue with the theory itself, things might turn out that way, we'll see. My issue is stating it (and the Switch 2 releasing in 2023) as fact, when it's not.
  17. It's not dishonest in the slightest, they're showing what games are on the way. Or shall we say, it's far less dishonest than talking about a makebelieve Switch 2 coming out in 2023 without a shred of evidence. The dishonesty though did come in say, telling us that God of War Ragnorok was coming out around now, when that was never going to happen, but generally speaking Sony's announce things years in advance to much fanfare and hype is mostly just annoying, imo. They did it last year and just ended up showing those same games year after year at E3. Nintendo do it on occasion, but for 90% of their games, release them very close to the reveal. Metroid Prime 4 would be out by now if it hadn't restarted development, but Bayo 3 was clearly announced way too early. Same as BOTW, but again, they mentioned how the scope of that game doubled when they realised what a good thing they had going. Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3? That's your often quoted theory. It has no basis in fact.
  18. I'll be delighted if KOTOR remake comes out in three years but it feels like they've just started working on it. "It'll be some time before we have more to show you" At least GOW2 is coming out next year.... right? You're forgetting the now traditional Twitter letter announcing a delay (or two)
  19. Yeah it means nothing when it comes to strength. I really really hope they don't backtrack on the design. Chest hair might have to be a PS6 feature though I guess. EDIT: Also GOW Thor could easily be Ragnarok Thor, just with armour on top. The body shapes look pretty similar to me.
  20. If they change Thor's appearance from what's been shown, they lose one sale. [/jk] [/kindof]
