  1. Err, apart from your good self obviously!
  2. Did about a dozen battles late last night and was top in my team getting 1000+ practically every time. Just played it an hour ago and I was getting owned every time! D'oh, must have been some rubbish players on last night. I've been using the Splattershot Jr mostly because I like that style but more importantly it has a shield special. Trouble is I just noticed it looks really weak, stat wise
  3. People on gaf have been loving this costumed Yoshi, but I still can't figure out which character it's supposed to be? Any help??
  4. This game is so so so good. Never mind the actual gameplay but the little touches here and there. The plaza, the loading screen mini game(s), the shop keepers', animations, everything. My only issue is the frame rate drops in the plaza, which is a shame, but otherwise what a game! Made it to level 6 now in my second session. I think Wallaye Warehouse is my favourite map so far. The Bubbler shield is so useful. It almost feels too useful at times. Being able to see the whole battlefield when you super jump in is such a nice touch. Love being able to shoot and spin around in mid-air. I saw you for a couple of matches, once on your team and once against you. My nickname is Paddy.
  5. As long as no more Fire Emblem characters in Smash! As if four or five identical ones aren't enough.
  6. Starfox and Animal Crossing to be the big hitters revealed for a 2015 launch? Maybe a Metroid early next year to coincide with 30th anniversary? Still think a dedicated amiibo game is on the way, hope it's more of a platformer than a party game.
  7. Not rare like Rosalina or Little Mac but fairly hard to find. The rarest of the Super Mario series at least.
  8. Does anyone get an Ice Climbers feel from Squid Jump?
  9. Finally started this game! Been trying for days but my internet connection would drop me out after a few seconds of each battle. Moved my Wii U to another room and it worked perfectly, well, for a good 8 or so battles then it wouldn't connect anymore Anyway, awesome fun. Might take the single player really slowly, just 1 level a day or something. Hope connection trouble clears up tomorrow.
  10. Except that I never judge the quality of those titles. I haven't played them so have no idea if they're actually a good game or not. I do feel confident enough speaking in broad terms about the styles of games they all are, which is all I ever do when I bring them up.
  11. So in conclusion it's a shame we're both missing out on well loved games.
  12. I can't see Battlefield 5, or Halo 5 or Call of Duty 12 being called the "freshest online shooter in ages" like the majority of reviews have called Splatoon. Gameplay wise they may all do things a little differently but they're much of the same in general. And who can blame them, that's what sells these days.
  13. I'd happily take a Mario 3D Land 2 on 3DS though
  14. I actually preferred Assault to Lylat Wars *ducks*
  15. I'm not sure game design is something we need to worry about from Nintendo tbh.
  16. I seem to remember them mentioning lots of vehicle types last year, including a helicopter. I suspect the arwing sections will only make up about a quarter of the game, sadly.
  17. I just hope they include Lylat voices in Starfox, much prefer the Starwing gibberish to the cheesy Lylat Wars stuff, though I admit I'm probably in the minority.
  18. Gameplay wise this should be great, but I'm not a fan of the art style or character designs at all. I find both pretty ugly actually, especially the characters.
  19. I wonder if they'll start doing non-character amiibos. I'd love an Arwing.
  20. ^ great post People are playing Splatoon because they absolutely love it. It's received great reviews and gamers are having a blast. "One of the freshest and most fun shooters in years" etc.... You'll have to accept that critically it's already a hit and will only get better as more content is added. And I meant 3 or 4 GOTY contenders last year, not this year.
  21. They had three GOTY contenders on Wii U alone last year, four if you count Shovel Knight. People will be playing Splatoon long after Titanfall has been long forgotten. Online connectivity isn't a focus for them, time to accept that.
  22. Insightful. The games Nintendo have been putting out the last few years have been excellent. They make quality titles in a variety of genres. Their very high standard certainly hasn't dropped in these tough times, and that's to be commended.
