  1. Same as Xbox One (6 months from reveal to release) and PS4 (5 months from reveal of console to release)
  2. I bought a 33 slot ship for a few million, then went from transmission tower to transmission tower hunting crashed ships. Apart from a couple of exceptions, each one I found had 1 slot more than the one I was using. A few hours later and I'd upgraded to a 48 slot ship.
  3. They succeeded spectacularly to explain the Wii, arguably a tougher concept to get across than the Wii so I'm sure they can get their messaging back on form. It'll all depend what they see the NX as, from reports it sounds like they're going with a simple "console gaming on the go" message.
  4. Apart from Nintendo hardware which is actually very robust, probably because kids drop things.
  5. They do amazing work, I'm sure this 2 hour (!!!) analysis will be no different.
  6. No you can't, you're comparing a handheld console with a home console. Unless you think it's viable to carry around a big chunky handheld and hold it perfectly still and flat at all time while the HDD motors away inside. A more apt comparison would be with the Vita, which has a grand total of 1GB.
  7. You can't really compare the two, a PS4 uses far cheaper (and slower) hard disk drives, the NX would use an SSD/Flash storage.
  8. I disagree. Better to keep the case cost down and allow for expandable memory than hike the price up for something that will only be needed by those who download games, IMO. Maybe it'll come with an SD card who knows.
  9. Going on iPhone prices, an extra 32GB would likely be an extra £50-100, obviously that's just Apple tax, but it'd be an extra expense of some kind and this thing sounds expensive enough as is.
  10. I'm not sure you can consider four games in sixteen years 'oversaturation'.
  11. Region Free (No region lock) <– Confirmed this. The device is around 14 – 15 mm in thickness. Cooling is still a little noisy I haven’t heard anything yet about triggers. Battery Life — Ehhh not great.
  12. It's just to plug a few gaps while their big guns work on NX games
  13. Excellent Direct, much better than I was expecting. I thought I was done with the 3DS but there at least four games there I'll be picking up
  14. Will definitely pick this up, the nice box art has sold me
  15. My favourite part of the Direct, very nice surprise and looks great fun
  16. Ok well I need that 8 bit one, and the Wind Waker one, and I may as well get the OOT one.... FFS.
  17. Hoping for a nice surprise reveal for 3DS but I can't imagine they've any of their big teams still doing 3DS games, we'll see...
  18. Agree with this, going back to dual analogs after Wii remote aiming was painful. Motion controllers in the right circumstance fit in very well, I couldn't imagine playing Splatoon without them for instance.
  19. Likewise. Thanks for pointlessly derailing this thread. Back to the 3DS...
  20. Oh FFS. It wasn't my first post in the thread, so kindly get yours facts right. It was a reply to @nekunando's post about how he felt about the 3DS as a whole. I replied with how I felt about the 3DS. He then replied to my post, carrying the conversation on. I've done FA wrong in this thread. Kindly give this blatant biased bullying a break please. The only person derailing this thread is you.
  21. All sounds good to me Supporting the 3DS until 2018 is certainly interesting. Wasn't expecting that, suppose it must be tough to give up on a 60mil install base.
  22. You know that @nekunando and I were talking about the 3DS console itself and our views on it to date, right?
  23. You've summed it up really well I reckon. The DS was an amazing experience at the time but I think the 3DS has the much better library. Some 3DS gems for me: Super Mario 3D Land: just incredile. This and 3D World are my favourite style Mario games. Perfectly designed, bite size moments of pure fun. Pilotwings Resort: pretty under-rated if you ask me. Ok so it didn't have the flavour of the original and N64 versions but the gameplay itself was great and showed off the stereoscopic 3D really well. It's a brilliant game to have in your pocket for quick play sessions and I hope they make an NX version Zelda ALBW: brought back the magic that's been somewhat missing since Wind Waker. Just a fantastic 2D Zelda game that doesn't feel too overly familiar. Animal Crossing New Leaf: it's in my top 5 games of all time, my first Animal Crossing experience and probably the best entry to jump into. Seems tailor made for a handheld system. Never played anything like it and I must have missed about two days in the first year. Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon: ambience was perfect, full of things to make you smile, and again I really liked the pickup and play nature of it. Gorgeous visuals and tons of fun.
