Is it weird that I've spent like 8 hours on my first planet?? Also if any game needed a photo mode, this was it. Or at least a way of hiding the entire HUD, including location markers. Big shame, seems so obvious

Loving it. I've played about 5 or so hours so far, and haven't even left my starting planet. Met a couple of aliens though who helped me out though. Oh and I got lost in a very confusing cave network.

What a weak argument. We're talking first/second party games in 4-5 years here. You're not going to get Nintendo putting out a dozen games per genre in that time.

Of the list Hero-of-Time put up, these are the genres included Kart racer Puzzle "Mini Maze Adventure" 2D Platformer 3D Platformer Adventure JRPG Action RPG Sports Fitness Art Life Sim Action Party Third person shooter Hack and Slash Level creator Retro collection Strategy Fighter Horror Online shooter Brawler Arcade shooter Short of driving sim, and gritty realistic openworld/shooter they deserve credit for touching on so many types of games, even if the quantity may not be there (understandable given this is only first party offerings)

That's an incredible line up of combined first party games, wow. There may be gaps but that's a huge variety of genres and titles.

Reading the review impressions thread on gaf is deflating my hype quite a bit. "Wide as an ocean, shallow as a puddle" was the big fear. Also the field of view on the PS4 is apparently terrible I could barely play the Witness for 5 minutes without getting a headache, this will probably be even worse.

It's a real shame that things like base building aren't in the game from the start. If I wasn't too excited to play it asap I would have just waited until that update. I really hope it's only a few weeks before release, though that's probably unlikely.

I'm hoping both the game, from GAME, and the day 1 patch arrive tomorrow. Fingers crossed. This thread will be fun once we all get going, sharing discoveries and screenshots etc.

I'm not generalising. I'm saying that I believe he's wrong. For example, my parents are over the retirement age and play FTP games. Not once did I suggest that that must be the majority do. All I was arguing was Sheikah's ludicrous... No we can't all agree. He's guessing, in fact I'd suggest it was the older generation who play F2P more than the younger generation. As for Pokemon Go Sheikah, it's moving hardware, and it's moving software. You're trying to dig your way out of a hole on a technicality, go for it, but the point is, Pokemon Go has caused a spike in Nintendo's core hardware and Pokemon software.

Fingers crossed. Well thanks @somme for posting here that Game sent out a 'getting ready to dispatch' email, it made me cancel my Amazon pre-order and go with Game instead. Might arrive tomorrow but even Monday would be fantastic!

I don't think that's true at all. My mum and dad are over 65 and they play F2P games constantly on their iPads. You're generalising again, like you did when you said Pokemon Go wouldn't increase 3DS / Pokemon software sales, which as the thread on here proved multiple times, was just totally incorrect.

I wonder if it will be live by the weekend, I guess that's unlikely.

Game shipped mine as well. Any word if that update Hello Games were working on is a day 1 patch and if so I wonder if it will be ready by say Monday

Just because you don't want it to be real doesn't make it fake. Some very reputable sites like IGN and Kotaku have stood by Eurogamer and corroborated the rumours. It's happening I'm afraid so I suggest you get used to the idea.

If it did arrive before release, I wonder if the day 1 update would be downloadable. I'd be tempted to wait for that regardless

Great news ^ I was a little disappointed last night to read reactions on gaf last night in the non-spoiler thread from people who've played it. Definitely sounds like expectations should be lowered for this one.
