  1. I made a post in the sales thread of a way Nintendo can "save" it. Not become massively successful but will help
  2. The new building, massive amount of hiring and outsourcing loads of stuff isn't doing enough? Ok. Third party for the Wii U is a lost cause. They won't come back.
  3. If anything, with the state of the industry, especially in Japan, getting in someone new would likely result in catastrophic mis-steps such as shifting to smartphone development.
  4. Here's how I can see it. Relaunch. It worked for the PS3, sort of happened and worked with the 3DS. Redo the logo, emphasise the U part of the Wii U, perhaps remove Wii altogether and call it the Nintendo U. New model of console. Cheaper parts so they can sell at a lower cost. 2 SKUs GamePadless with Wiimote Plus and/or Pro Controller: ~$199.99. OS defaults to the screen on TV being what is on the GamePad as default so WaraWara Plaza can't be accessed. Can't switch unless you sync a GamePad. With GamePad & Wiimote Plus: ~$249.99. GamePad on sale on its own $79.99 [*]As most games offer alternatives in control, you can throw a "Better with the GamePad" style thing on the box. For ones that require it, like games that require Kinect, marked clearly on the box. [*]Bundle could include Super Mario 3D World or Mario Kart 8 to further push it Iwata mentioned today that they're funnelling even more money into advertising and that is another reason why projected profits are lower. Use that for a massive relaunch. Software is fine, though they need more of it, sure. Third party support is a lost cause, what Nintendo need to do is try and lure them back for the next console, but have to ride the Wii U through until 2016 at least. In the meantime, continue with the deals made with Sega, Platinum, Koei Temco etc. to make exclusives, with Nintendo fronting much of the costs. This is the only thing I can see Nintendo do to potentially turn it around.
  5. Same. I really enjoy this game. Hope they bring DLC or a sequel to it for more NES games like SMB3, Zelda II and a variety of other first party NES games, then a SNES sequel. This sort of game is great and they should keep up with it.
  6. Quake reboot on the Wii U's relaunch? I'm in :p
  7. That thread is just filled with stupid people who can't see the big picture. Yeah, Iwata has messed up and the Wii U isn't doing as well as it should, which is denting Nintendo's financials, but all the ideas people have there would result in Nintendo going under.
  8. Considering that between April 2013 and October 2013, they only sold around 600,000 units worldwide, anyone could have seen this coming.
  9. It was expected. It doesn't require spin. Anyone who saw the figures over the past few months would have seen this coming. What else would they have done? Kept their forecast that they would never meet? Christ.
  10. At least give them a chance before being dismissive.
  11. Well they had to cut it anyway. There was no way in hell they were meeting their target. Now, their target is far more realistic and they may actually hit it. Turnarounds don't happen overnight. Getting rid of the CEO would do nothing but put the company into turmoil. Will it suddenly make sales go up? No. Nintendo had a massive shakeup in the execs this year. The effects of which will be shown in the latter half of this year and beyond. Give that a chance before you call for the head of the one CEO who doesn't want to financially buttrape you, and who actually cares about gaming.
  12. I'll remove my sig for the time being. A virus sneaked into my forum server. I've sent a review request so Google can remove it.
  13. Such a shame. Great comedic actor. RIP
  14. Wish I were. I'm not good with social interaction at all.
  15. All signs have pointed to that having changed now though. We should not dwell on the past That's just what he's calling the meeting for the Q3 results. Jan 30th
  16. It's addictive, and the Germ Buster & Operation L modes are pretty good too. Wouldn't say it's worth the price though
  17. Now that deserves a thread
  18. Ooh, I wasn't aware it had come out already elsewhere. Apologies. Feel free to close the thread
  19. Are we not allowed to make threads for software being released? You do realise you don't have to buy this very cheap, currently Japan only, piece of download software... They're allowing third parties to make software. THE HORROR....
  20. Look at the dog in the movie thumbnail. Clearly it is GOTY worthy
  21. Ego boost and/or confidence boost. I don't get messaged on dating sites, don't get responses. I don't get people check me out or attempt to flirt with me. I never learn of people being into me. It is somewhat demoralising. Just being able to converse would be a victory.
  22. Saw this crop up on the official Japanese site earlier 500 yen. January 22nd
