  1. Yeah I think that's what annoyed me about it. It SHOULD have been awesome. There was definitely potential there with the idea, I just don't like what they did with it. The episodes got veerrrry samey and there wasn't much story progression around the mid season.
  2. Haha how far is that? Ahh look at what women turn us into! Hope things go well anyhoo matey. Think you're gonna go?
  3. Do I sense a THREESOME?! If so, pics must follow.
  4. Hope it's not too expensive. I think the above is why I drive around everywhere with my music on full. The second I turn things off I get extremely paranoid about every single little noise the car's making. Probably not the best thing to do really but I'm sure something will fall off to let me know when something's really wrong.
  5. Yeah exactly, that's made me feel a bit better about it actually. I'm driving up, gonna take me 3 hours. Oh jeez I'm odd!
  6. Haha yeah I will do. I was in a very similar situation a couple of years ago. Except the girl was a friend of a friend from uni that I'd met just the once. I completely failed socially whenever she went away. Luckily her friends house was massive so it wasn't -too- noticeable but I still ended up playing with a frog in her friend's garden for about half an hour... Oh jeez that's embarrassing! So yeah, gonna try and not let that happen again! :/ Staying with her at her friend's. Apparently it's fine. Her friend met her fiance on a Rammstein forum of all places so she's understanding of the situation. Top stuff on pulling the hot girl by the way! Sounds like you're onto a winner there!
  7. Haha thanks peeps. Think I'm still gonna go despite my extreme ph33r. Hopefully a couple of drinks will loosen me up a bit.
  8. To be honest though, you're not experiencing what driving really is until you pass your test, have your own car, get out on your own and discover somewhere new. Shorty's post really summed up how I feel about driving. It's not just about being able to carry shopping etc... It's about going to new places. The feeling of freedom it gives you is just wonderful and you just don't get that with public transport in anywhere near the same way. I also happen to live an hours walk away from the nearest bus stop which goes twice a day to the nearest small town so it DOES make day to day life easier for me!
  9. Aw flamester, sorry about the dating website thing... that sucks. I'm also on a dating site (don't judge me, I am just horrendous at starting conversations with random women in RL). I got messaged by this really hot girl on there and we've been chatting back and forth through text message almost constantly for about 2 weeks now. She's so lovely, we have so many similar interests and get on really well... I really do like her so far. I think she might like me, even after we exchanged facebooks, where there are pictures that I've not been able to carefully moderate. Now, she randomly invited me to the NYE party she's going to (even though she lives around 160 miles away) and... me being a sad fucker who doesn't know many people down here in Cornwall, has taken her up on the offer. Now, in retrospect, I'm worried as hell that she's just invited me out of politeness and I'm being a complete freak by going. Maybe she feels like she can't back out now? I did talk to her about it and she said she really wanted me to go still even if we are being a little crazy and that she was nervous too... Her friends though as well... I'm sure they're going to wonder who this twat is that's crashing their moderately intimate (20 peeps?) NYE party. Basically I'm nervous as hell as I'm not exactly the most sociable person around new people (I get very nervous and self conscious) and am wondering if I should bother going at all or just stay down here with a couple of friends. I also seem to have just realised that we've only been talking for TWO WEEKS and I'm travelling 160 miles out of my way to see her?! Kinda pathetic?
  10. "I didn't kill the companion cube in Portal. I spent 3 days working out how to glitch through the entire game with it. Now THAT is how loyal I am!"
  11. I tried to get my Dad into Arrested Development. Unfortunately his partner didn't get it and wasn't willing to put up with a few episodes of 'HUH?' to get into it. Got some belly laughs from my pap though. Most consistently hilarious show around. Such depth to the comedy too, I'm constantly spotting new things. Bring on the film. In fact, seen as it gets a lot of love around here (I've never known anyone in real that's even heard of it), big massive N-E trip to the cinema as soon as it's out?! Oh and Slaggis, stick with Dexter through the relatively poor season 3 as season 4 is just spectacular.
  12. To be honest I don't think ITV1 has had anything decent on for about the last 5 years. But yeah, Christmas TV was shit. Aside from the Royle Family Christmas special. That was way funnier than I was expecting.
  13. A mould of your dead grandfather's penis.
  14. Merry Christmas all! Ladies, keep your pepper spray under your pillow. It's a long night for Santa and he tends to get horny :/
  15. "OH SHEEEEET LET'S BAILLL!" Omg that's awful but I'm ashamed to say it did get a belly laugh from me. WHY did they bail?!
  16. Is number 4 from the last one Manic Miner? Edit: Nah quick google says it's not. Similar though and I definitely recognise it from somewhere... Double Edit: JET SET WILLY!
  17. No. I didn't list every reason why I think Twilight Princess lacks atmosphere. Just a couple. I've never actually played SOTC but from what I gather the isolation and the open, empty landscapes are the whole point of the game and contribute to its atmosphere. In TP, Hyrule Town for example is SUPPOSED to be a bustling city but it doesn't FEEL like one. SOTC is SUPPOSED to feel open and empty. That's how the gameplay and story were designed. There's MEANT to be the feel of an overwhelming threat in TP whereas in SOTC (from what I've read and that's a lot) you're not MEANT to feel like that at all. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed TP's gameplay as a whole. I just don't think the storytelling side was up to much (and that's not just the basic plot but how it's handled, the atmosphere of the game etc..) and these days in games, that's half the experience.
  18. Rez's face is the forum's equivalent of Viagra spam.
  19. Hmm X-11 seems very like Monopoly to me. When you're winning it's AWESOME but when you're losing... I've gone from loving it to "not sure I can be bothered" after just two losses in a row. Kinda pathetic really but it's true.
  20. Happy Birthday one and all. Just think, if you were born 2009 years earlier you could have almost been Jesus. Astonishing.
  21. A ha! Thank you! Rather brain dead this afternoon. Christmas Eve mulled wine is clearly taking effect.
  22. I think what makes Majora's Mask so amazing above all else is the atmosphere. It's literally seeping with it. As I've said before, just getting to know what all the characters are doing and thinking as the world is about to end is insightful and heartbreaking. And that 'end is nigh' atmosphere spreads across the entire map, not just a select few areas. I see people complaining about MM's dungeons and their amount but they're missing the point. The dungeons and such are the side quests in that game, they're not the main attraction at all. As a work of interactive fiction, the game is incredible. Never before in a videogame have I felt my actions really mattered as much as they do in this. You can actually witness the destruction of the entire world over and over again and that future will be set in stone if you don't take action. Nearly any other game waits for you to reach its end before the evil baddie's master plan really comes into full force. Okay, you can die throughout but if you just stand there and do nothing? - So what? Presumably the evil master sits down with a cup of tea waiting for your arrival. But in MM, the end of the world happens even if you stand in Termina Field and do nothing. It just makes the danger all the more real and immersive. As a comparison, Twilight Princess was really lacking in atmosphere. Hyrule Town might have been bustling with people but it felt dead and empty as you couldn't talk or listen to the majority of its citizens. There's never any real immediate danger on a wide scale. Death is never knocking on the door, he's wheezing halfway down the street. I find it funny when people say TP is the darkest Zelda yet. It's not. I just assume they haven't spoken to the citizens of Termina just before their entire world comes to an end. Majora's Mask is the darkest Zelda by far.
  23. Yeah I realised that it was a defense for the other article, that's what I meant about addressing the balance. But it feels more like a "Why it isn't perfect" rather than "Why it's not the best zelda" article. I can't deny my love for MM but that article was just lazily written and researched. It was like the author wrote it because his editor told him to rather than because it was something he felt strongly about.
