There's no denying Slumdog is full of clichés, has some extremely bad acting and is not strong enough as a film to hold some of the themes it comments on; but it was still enjoyable. It is a bit of a fairytale and I don't see what's wrong with that. It's not saying that winning Who wants to be a Millionaire is ''the key'' to escaping poverty; it's an almost unbelievable set of events, as we see in many fictional stories. I really can't believe anyone would interpret it as a lesson in life.

How amazing are duck pancakes from Chinese takeaway, just the best thing. Half day at work today as I'm working tomorrow, so I met a friend for a vanilla latte and a chat in the sunshine which was lovely. Came home and tried to watch 21 grams, but just wasn't in the mindset. Kinda bored now; feel like going out, but alas...work. Congrats Pook and good luck Raining! Have you got the practise DVD for the hazard perception? that really helped me.

Terminator Salvation Too sleepy for a real review now but I didn't particularly like it.

What an awful day, just one nightmare after another. I hope seeing Salvation will improve things by exceeding my low expectations.

Hmm less the presentation and more the strength of acting being able to hold some of the darker themes perhaps, something just didn't feel quite right.

Slumdog Millionaire Brilliant, I really enjoyed! Endearing characters and some shocking truths. But it had this... film 4 ickyness, which I can't describe too well; just felt like it was trying too hard on the cheap. 7.5/10

I should find him intensely annoying, but instead I love him. His voice is amazing and he's so damned excitable! I would have much preferred tonight's show if it was just him; the Canadian guy was just dreadful, the Scottish guy dragged out one joke for 15 mins, the English guy was a seemingly nervous nutter and I've heard alot better from Rhod Gilbert. Edit: Canadian not American.

I did indeed vote and I too found the length of the European ballot pretty crazy. I loved the efficient ''WI ladies'' running the station though. Aylesbury/Bucks has been a Tory stronghold in every sense for so long; any vote of mine feels almost wasted.
