  1. I agree. We may moan about Rock Band missing portions like online, and DLC, but its a damned sight better than the appalling "output" from Ubisoft.
  2. Do you now feel it is now in the consumers' best interests to allow EA to fully purchase Ubisoft, rather than begging the french Government for money to enable you to stay 'French'? Honestly, if I were EA with my 20% share in Ubisoft, i'd be kicking arse right now. EA may not be perfect, but at least their offering some genuine support to Wii - for both casual and less casual gamers.
  3. If the OP doesn't like Zelda because it was developed, originally, as a Gamecube title then perhaps he does need a Forum-Flaming. Despite its obvious shortcomings, the Zelda team have developed a stunning game, and for people not to buy because its a semi-port is simply not a valid argument. Remember, TP is in full 16:9 widescreen, has addded features like direct aiming. It should'nt be discounted for the reason that its just a Gamecube port. So is RE4, and then there are plenty of other games which look below GC. Have people learned nothing from Wii? Its nt a console for graphics whores, sure things can look great with some decent art design and clever programming, but if you want a big visual upgrade from Gamecube/Xbox era, you've backed the wrong horse. We're about and evolution in Gameplay, not graphics.
  4. all the above, plus excitetruck, consider SSX Blur too. And some Wii Points for LostWinds from WiiWare.
  5. two screens in two years... At this rate, they'll finish the game in time for it to prove the final swansong of Wii 3,321,497.
  6. Or they ensure visiting players automatically fill in any holes they've dug and are unable to weild an axe (just why you'd take an axe when visiting friends, is anyones guess)
  7. Waits for Sharon Stone and Karma comments.
  8. i'm usually sockless in bed. Very occasionally, when staggering into bed after far too much drink, i'll leave them on. I do find that i'm always missing my left sock by morning though. Don't know why.
  9. I'd completely forgotten this was on its way... And its sounding very, very promising.
  10. Ignoring the regular shafting we get from Nintendo with release dates for a moment, just what development interests do Nintendo have in Europe? Nadda, excluding a contract with Kuju. Us Europeans are a slightly more sophisticated bunch, and while Rare have struggled to maintain their magic without Nintendo, us European consumers have no company to replace that delicious humour Rare displayed time and time again. Sort it.
  11. Platty, that happened to me too- although I think it may have been something to do with me driving like a tit on coke.
  12. WiiSports is a reason to buy a Wii for many consumers. I honestly can't see them ditching it... could this indicate a price drop though?
  13. Universal Studios. A mate bought a 'job lot' collection of GC games recently, which included this. Apparently, its essential to play purely to understand how bad it was. I declined that offer. Charlies Angels was available in the UK 'exclusive' to GAME.
  14. It was pure luck. I was dicking around with the flames, creating a vortex of fire, ended up on Magmoks hand and the rest is history...
  15. At the end of the trailer, it clearly states "coming soon"
  16. The simple fact is, as analysts seem to have commented, compared to the previous generation, the 360 and PS3 are underselling -a clear sign that the industry is (without Wii) in decline. Thats a serious situation, Mr Bard and something I think your underestimating. As I recall Capcom have said that their 'Next Gen' output is being subsidised by their Wii output? Is that honestly a sustainable business model? Without Wii, could Capcom have gone under, along with numerous other companies. Now, admittedly i'd rather play new ideas, but 'Me too' titles are, along with subcontracted licenses (yes, the bane of Gamers'), the bread and butter for smaller code houses - those who don't have the luxury of being tied to a big name publisher and injected with cash when the going gets tough. Would you rather see these coders working in Sainsburys, or Carphone Warehouse, or would your rather let them cut their teeth there and, hopefully, progress onto greater things? Its plain shortsightedness and perhaps a little predudice for you to critisise. You mention those traditional franchises, here's some stats from Gamerankings: Smash Bros N64 - 80.2% Melee- 89.8% Brawl- 93.9% Super Mario SM64 - 95.9% SM Sunshine - 91.7% SM Galaxy 97.3% Zelda Ocarina: 97.6% / Majoras Mask 92.3% Wind Waker 94.8% Twilight 94% Metroid Metroid 3 - 96% Prime - 96.3% Echoes - 91.9% Corruption - 89.7% These key franchises you've bemoaned about are gaining extremely positive critical reviews, comparable with previous iterations, bettering them in some cases. Note, that while Mario Kart Wii scored the lowest in the franchise - 81% - thats a good score (and fair in my opinion). Arguing that the best games on Wii could be made on last gen tech is irrelevent though, traditional gamers aren't too fussed with excessive waggle, but the inclusions in the big titles are nice touches (and i'd argue improve the product and immersion). Remember that Metroid, Mario, Smash Bros pander to the traditional gamer and secure the traditional cash, while WiiSports, WiiFit, and dare I say it Carnival Games are there to expand a dwindling industry and bring in new greens. Keep in mind, games companies are businesses and therefore need to remain profitable (especially with the recent economic downturn) - by hook or by crook, they need our cash, now if that means changing the boundaries, like Cinema has, or the music industry, then so be it. And when exactly does WiiFit stop being a game? Its fun and enjoyable to the masses, its also played on a games console, so exactly how is WiiFit any but a game, regardless of its percieved health purpose? If you don't like WiiFit then I have a really simple suggestion for you, don't buy it. Solved. But millions of people are enjoying it worldwide, and in all honesty I actually think its rather insulting to dismiss the pastime they enjoy (I'm sure you'll the first to complain when same random newspaper dismisses your gaming pastime as 'childish'). So, why shouldn't Nintendo invest in products for people other than gamers? Judging by your last sentence, you'll have already dismissed this post as the ramblings of a whore to Nintendo. Not the case, I've always beleived gaming should be as valid a pastime as TV, cinema, whatever and not exclusively for sticky boys in dark bedrooms (come on, how many times have forum readers, maybe even yourself, tried to get someone playing Street Fighter II or Goldeneye 007, with no success - ask someone now and they'll probably give WiiSports, WiiFit a go). Whether it be Sony with Eyetoy, or Nintendo with Wii, its all good - Consoles are finally earning a place in the living room. As they used to say, Get N or Get Out.
  17. As simple as Wii Music may appear, it'll never fit within the 40MB guide for WiiWare. Hopefully, Nintendo see the light and add some online features - If Guitar Hero can do it, Nintendo can.
  18. Anyone who has completed the game experienced this
  19. Cooking Mama shifts the units. We all await Final Fantasy: Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmare CXI.
  20. It would seem daft that after both Nintendo and Square investing in GDS solely to get the FF name back on Nintendo platforms, they'd not bother releasing further games.
  21. A tip for all guys who have experienced that awkward moment: How to hide an unwanted erection
  22. what is a 'hardcore' gamer? Those who play games over 5 hours a week? Those who play nothing but generic FPS or photo real driving games? Those who want new experiences? Those who find every last blue coin? Reading that, i started to think i actually have no idea what a hardcore gamer is all about.
  23. I don't dislike Geist. It was a superb idea. It just needed an extra 2 years in development- nail the frame rate, add some waggle and a become a launch title for Wii.
  24. You've obviously missed the reviews of Haze... Poor. I'm really hoping High Voltage make a good go of this. Nintendo really should pick this up, they need a new FPS franchise to push sales further- Geist fluffed it on Cube, despite having the best premise you could've wanted.
  25. Why not tape the Nunchuck and Wiimote together? Seems just as successful as a plastic holder for them.
