Super Smash Bros. Brawl (100% Spoiler-Free Topic)
dwarf replied to Tellyn's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I think it's sort of an argument where both sides can argue their own position, opinions formed from the situation they are in. I'd be saying the same things if I had waited, but I guess I couldn't. I think you're in a good position now though where you have all the stuff I've done still to do and discover a few more things for yourself. -
But come on Hellfire it would at least be nice if we had a bit of choice for FPS and GTA styled stuff, 'tendo can't afford to miss out on that market and expect people to still buy the consoles. Many, like me, only have one console and having 2 would be very pricey and hard to manage. Why write such a long post anywho?

I'd still import if If I didn't have the game. It's so good. -
Not literally, but like Bowser creates a virtual reality world that sucks Mario in or something, and time changes, scenes warp and he sees illusions etc. I think more interactivity with objects would be cool. Kinda like a Matrix, where you can programme anything you like, and Bowser chooses what the world Mario gets, but you somehow stop his machine or something like that.

Played this again today and couldn't understand the fuss with Maple Tree Highway, I don't really think the new tracks are as amazing as they have been made out to be. I thought Moonview highway was quite good along with the waterway one but other than that for me it was a bit 'meh'. I think I'll go without, but play it more when a friend is round or I',m round theirs. As good as any MK I guess though.

A challenger to F-Zero perhaps? A game-movie tie in from Warner Bros. Looks OK, set to release in May, check it out. http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/868/868965p1.html

Interesting. A nice load of other dates too, not sure how accurate though. Nothing from IGN yet though, although there's quite a lot of news/articles there atm.

Soooo, did you get it to work?

'Karma' ! Ha that's quality.

I understand now then because maybe the designer I liked for Prime 1 decided to leave for Prime 3. Some people liked the latest designer as well I guess. I'm intrigued to see what the next Metroid is going to be like. But we've had this discussion many a time so...

For 15 minute Brawl I did a cop out thing: Use Pit and keep flying under the stage, ledge grab, wait til someone tries to hit you off, drop down and fly back over to the other side. To solve boredome I went to pick up assist trophies occasionly and the odd pokeball. As for 5 in Cruel, I used Lucas, and you know he has the move where you PK thunder and hit yourself? Well, jump just so you're off the stage out of reach, maybe do a double jump to steady yourself and wait for all the alloys to wait by the edge (or fail to smack you - because you're invincible during this move) then carefully guide your PK thunder right into the side off your body. This will connect with pretty much all the alloys. Two of these, or maybe even one if absolutely nailed, will kill them. After doing one, run to the other side and wait a bit, then jump, or as the alloys try to recover jump over them to start the move again. Takes a lil practice bit is an easy way of killing them. I used this for event 41 also. As for Subspace, I got goosebumps when watching The Subspace Invasion, that is simply incredible, especially when the music starts thumping in.

Didn't see the game but thought the result sounded acceptable. I think a win is on the cards at Old Trafford, even if Ronaldo can't take penalties.

Just got back from a Kooks gig at the Oasis, Swindon. Twas good, although the support band 'The Rivers' were equally cool.

At school it's 2008 but it would pretty much be the same buttons, just different positioning of tools. Where's the layout button? if you could explain in a lil more detail then that would be cool, but thanks thus far.

His meteor smash is pretty immense. What characters have the best/easiest meteors? Obviously Young Link has to be up there, but people like Lucas (my main) and Mario are crap because they are pretty hard to use and don't always work. That review is hilarious.

Roll-over images? And are those sounds recordings or what? do you know where the drop-down is btw wolfy?

I have to make an E-portflio for ICT GCSE and I was thinking of some tips for how to use dreamweaver (8). Ive learnt how to link, add backgrounds but I wondered if anyone here new some slightly more advanced techniques like Flash buttons and picture links etc (both I can do, but I was wondering if there were any others). Maybe something like a drop-down selection bar? (quoted from me in another thread)

I think a Virtual reality world and warping environments would be the next step they took. Maybe keep some Galaxy elements.

Grab. Although grabbing effectiveness has been lessened. I hate both Zelda's and Sheik's recovery. I muff it up so darn much.

What I find funny is that in games the concept of Mature these days is running around like a maniatic fool killing innocent civilians with tommy guns. The games aren't always striving for it, but it defies realism. Mario is a more mature game if you think about buying a game for fun times. And yes, GTA can be fun too, just saying.

I meant if you keep going into corrupted form. It feels like cheating on Easy and Normal, but the bomb bit where you have to take out the ships is impossible to do without getting corrupted a few times. On hyper difficulty that is.
-
Fatigue! I blame it on this, I just read the first part and thought 'aw gawd'. I apologise.

Not really seen Malouda play often so I can't comment, but for the short time I saw him he did OK. Terry looked surprisingly edgy.

Thing is if you stay in hyper mode and get corrupted, you'll run through the energy tanks like a thirsty elephant at an oasis. Also I found on the solid difficulty that it only takes a couple of shots from an enemy while you're corrupted til you die anyway. Found that very annoying in parts. Cool charge beam I must say.
