  1. I can't stop watching the Escapist video reviews. The guy completely nails many points about videogames that you forget to write about or semi-ignore. It makes me realise that I sometimes big up games or features in games which are actually poor just for the sake of feeling good about buying it. It's hilarious, the cartoon stuff is clever and yet it doesn't stop me from disliking the games. This Tomb Raider one is one of the best I've seen him do yet: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/502-Tomb-Raider-Underworld The Saints Row 2 one is also good, and agrees with a lot of what Daft wrote in his 'review'.
  2. I played the Ninja Gaiden Sigma demo and feared that GoW would end up like that; repetitive button mashing, repetitive enemies, repetitive locales.
  3. The first game was magic for me. I bought it not knowing anything about it, plonked it in and was amazed. I thought there must be other games with that amount of detail but there really aren't any. I think the lores and locales felt so real for some reason. The weapons were badass, the puzzles were great. Basically the best game ever created.
  4. Wow that game was boring and it had a bad result. Good job I spent most of the second half playing pool.
  5. I want to be excited but I have only played the PSP game and that felt generic and repetitive (Although I only completed the first level). It's something that everyone highly anticipates and hype builds up for but at the moment it seems that they're boasting about the visuals which at them moment look average. From the scans and trailer anyway.
  6. Metroid Prime 3 is the worst of the series. The first was the best, the second had slightly more annoying moments but did some cool things but the third... I don't know how they did it but they lost the magic. They ditched the scanner pretty much, added other hunters which made for crap bosses and lack of segregation. Locales weren't very interesting, more casual feeling. Yet after all the praise it's received it makes me wonder. I think because it is one of the best Wii games because the quality of other mildly similar games has been poor. One of my biggest game let downs. The only thing for me it did better was controls.

    Killzone 2

Choze I'll whoopass you just from playing the demo And MtH, I think it's a bit early to say you won't spend much time in online in the game. This game isn't Cod4. It's Killzone. It has it's own feel and playstyle and all it needs is a bit of practice. If you think of the amount of time you put into Cod, getting to learn how it handles takes a miniscule amount of time compared to the time you spend on it overall. All I'm saying is that you shouldn't really want this to handle like Cod 4. It's nothing like Resistance either, but it shouldn't be because it is a different game and it would decrease the challenge if it were the same as the others.
  8. I can't watch wrestling because it is too cheesy. Seeing a 20 tonne beast vs a normal wrestler is stupid, especially when the big guy just waits and co-operates with the opponent so that they can get the perfect tombstone piledriver.
  9. I don't agree with DLC being exclusive. Neiher do I wholly agree with DLC.
  10. Hmm I wouldn't worry about it, mine did it at one stage but it doesn't anymore. Now it's very quiet. On the HD TV is it good to have PS upscaler turned on? I heard it has a significant effect on the visuals but can't remember if it was better on or off. Plus are there any other options that can make it look better? And I swear when I played Killzone 2 demo yesterday it looked much better. Today it changed the display to 720p automatically but I thought it was 1020p yesterday.
  11. Well I don't know what 32" Im going to opt for when I get one to use for the PS3 but the 42" Panasonic Viera is intense. Killzone 2 was so impressive I almost cried. Just watching DVDs you can tell it's amazing, can't wait to delve into blu-ray. If only I could use the PS3 on the Panasonic all the time... I don't want to turn back now lol.
  12. OMG. Just experienced HD gaming for the first time and it is bloody incredible. The surround sound was insane. The fluidness insane. Killzone 2 looked unbelievably good, I really couldn't believe how amazing it was. I can't go back now, not after that... x 10
  13. Resistance 2 is awesome online, don't let anyone else tell you otherwise Our new HDTV has been set up in the lounge  it looks great, but can't seem to get the PS3 picture up. I can hear sound on one of the 'av' things but can't get picture. I've plugged an HDMI cable into HDMI 1 but when I choose HDMI 1 on av nothing happens... Tried scart as well but same problem.
  14. Yeah I'm MU myself but realised just afterwards what you meant. Just saying, I've played football for pretty much all my life but I don't think I'd really get the drive to play hard if the manager couldn't communicate with me that well.
  15. Come again?
  16. I wouldn't feel sorry for any of them. Yes they don't stay in for long but the salary for taking on the job for just a week is worth taking up the post. Although in this case Scholari does seem very passionate about the game. I'd much rather have an english manager or a manager that spoke perfect english over someone like Luiz though because you probably wouldn't understand their instructions but you they can't really find out a lot about you or get to know you as a person, which can really help.
  17. Our big TV is arriving tomorrow And that one above could well be a candidate for when we put one in the small room. Why do you recommend it?
  18. Spire was the coolest out of the Hunters. He was the last of his species and his ability to roll up walls was different. A Metroid RPG would be interesting, controlling multiple space pirates or impact troops or whatever they were called. As well as all of the weird creatures and hunters.
  19. Yeah the point to aim thing is much better than using analogues. It's the one thing I miss by changing from Wii to PS3 owner. Call of Duty works great with it, I just wish I could use it to play Killzone 2. That would make Unbelievable. It's still going to be kickass online though.
  20. Well they're tied to your PSN ID so you can go back to your downloads if you sort out your account.I think.
  21. I don't want grant in management purely so that I don't have to put up with his face when I watch his interviews on MotD. "I tink that eets good game" Piss off Avram

    Killzone 2

Ah right I get it. I think I'll reach Scout rank in about ooh... Say 2 days after release? Haha, It'll probably take 3 weeks + to get all the unlocks of solid playing. I've decided when I get it I will just do online play and rank the crap out of it for a while and then spread the play out.
  23. I always thought he looked like some sort of troll/toad. Rofl at Adams taking the position! That would be so funny. I say get Alan Curbishly, he needs a big job in management, he's done well with the lesser teams, I want to know what he can do with money. Looks like him or Avram are going to Pompey though.

    Killzone 2

So cloak and C4 then? Also, what does the 8x stand for in the diagram and what does it mean by the specialist? Is that the maximum amount you can use the ability or what you need to do to get the next unlock?
