But @Ronnie, these people having been playing CoD and FIFA for years, still are and will do for years to come with future releases! Those that you refer to who played the Wii and DS but don't anymore are different in that they're not still gaming. Hence the casual nature of it.

What we're trying to say @Ronnie, is that it's not how many games the person is buying that makes them casual or not. It's the amount of time they're investing in the games themselves... and still doing so! It'd be casual of them to play a bit and then not play for a while, but they're playing the games a hell of a lot. There's nothing casual about it. EDIT: there we go, @Pestneb with the definition of the word itself. Now do you get what we're meaning?

You might play a decent number of games, but there'll be plenty others that don't. Those that just pick up Mario, Mario Kart and Smash. When people are investing such time, and in many cases money - DLC, on games then you can't really call it casual. It's more than a casual interest in gaming at this point. And anyway, where are your facts and figures to back up the suggestion that some people only buy the console for one or two games? How do you know they're not buying more?

In that case are Nintendo only gamers not casual gamers because they've so little to play on?

I'm not sure you can call it casual when these gamers are playing FIFA and CoD etc day in and day out. The amount of time they game can't be dismissed as though they're just casual gamers.

We all know I've not got patience @Ronnie :p With these consoles and VR on the horizon, would you not think it best Nintendo announce the NX to detract from people putting down pre-orders etc. though? People may well find out about the NX but it may be too late for some by then as they've put money down on the others. Internet forums are only a small percentage of the gaming population don't forget.

Wow, way to dissect a post! I know people who want a PS4 Slim, PS4Pro, an XBOs (note the "s"), a Scorpio, VR... I don't know anyone who wants an NX because nobody even knows what it is! It's having mindshare that Nintendo needs. I even know people who don't even know that the NX is coming! These are people that game too, not avid fans who scour Internet forums etc but gamers none the less... but Nintendo are so out of touch with them that they don't even know what the NX is (in that it's Nintendo's next hardware)... and that's bad for Nintendo!

With the PS4 Slim & Pro, XBOs & Scorpio and VR all on the way... all of which we know more about than we do the NX.

Is it not already proven to be fake? I see everyone online saying it has been, I've just not looked for myself yet.

When I'm playing online with my friends, party chat is not superfluous. Whenever I get together with my mates, we don't all sit in silence together. Whilst talking is useful in some cases, it's not integral to us spending time together...

I don't doubt it'll have good games, I just worry it'll be a poor machine. I'd say the WiiU was a poor machine with good games. Not because it sold awfully but because it lacked features that have been industry standard since 2005! Yes, it had great games, but the console itself was lacking. I hope they get all the features that are standard these days in the NX.

It probably didn't help her that I kept moving and pulling faces.
