We could always do what you do and paper over the cracks whilst pretending everything is rosy... :p Actually, on a positive note, I do really like the Gamepad. Off-TV play has been great for me because I share a flat and the WiiU is in the front room with the TV. It really is nice happily gaming away even if the TV is on. I'm looking forward to playing through Bayonetta 1&2 too so I know this will come in handy!

It is the standard, Nintendo simply aren't up to standards.

They'll be talking about their "vision" and the new game at EGX Rezzed on 14th March... http://www.egx.net/rezzed/news/ex-rare-devs-to-present-new-3d-platformer-at-egx-rezzed

Is there online multiplayer? Online co-op maybe?

There must be a stealth kill in the game whereupon you sneak up behind an enemy, unwravel some of yourself and use the wool string to choke the enemy to death..?

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Official Thread: A Brotherhood Reunited

The snake fight was a bit dull in all honesty. It feels epic at first but quickly becomes a bit meh. I kind of wanted to get hit by his blast or bite to see how much damage it would do but I kept dodging them just in case, haha. I'm going to be one of these under-levelled twats come G Rank and needing stuff from the single player, haha. I think I'll tackle it like I did against Jho in underwear on Tri... using a Lance and being mindful of defence, haha. By that time I reckon I'll be done with the game though. -

It's neat in some ways but for me it's a royal dick move. For me it's like if you could only get certain things in CoD multiplayer if you did the campaign... urgh! It's multiplayer only that I enjoy in these games. I'm HR7, I've only done Deviljho and Dalamadur (a couple other hunter's urgents) from those ranks though, not tried the others yet. Blade said he'd do a bit of hunting at weekend but when I joined I just figured I'd leave you guys to the G Rank quests as the room was full... didn't want to be holding people's own games up and at the same time I want to really battle against the new monsters I'll face and a full team of G Rank hunters would just end up destroying them and I don't really enjoy the hunts when they're like that. -

I've unlocked the farms and really that's as far as I'm willing to go. Hunts are dull on your own, even if it takes seconds, the biggest pain is the text. I hate skipping through all that text, for something I then just don't really find fun. -

As much as I love this game, the more I read that you have to do single player to progress in the multiplayer, the more it becomes my least favourite of the Monster Hunter games I've played. -

@Hero\-of\-Time there's no way you only put 500 hours into each, surely?! I put in 800 on Tri and around 600 on 3U. I reckon this one won't get near either of them to be honest though, not from what you were saying about needing to do the single player too. -
I'm glad I have absolutely zero interest in them, it sounds like a major ball-ache trying to get them.

I just find it a little dull though... and there's just so much sodding text to skip through! Simply, I'd rather play on other games than do the single player on MH. -

No worries @Hero\-of\-Time it was getting on. I had a bit of a poop night. I was doing well myself but the randoms I was playing with just kept fainting (I changed rooms a few times too), they were very naive in their hunting I must say. It's at times like these voice/chat is a must. Just so you can give some advice... like getting out of the tight corner and not trying to fight the monster there, bring him into open space where you've room to position and dodge... you know, very basic stuff! Hardly got any hunts done. Red Khezu is a pain too, he's the only monster that makes me use a good number of potions, that damn electric git! -
No, I've picked them up today on my lunch break at work. I'll not put them on for some time I guess... I've too many games too.
-
So I picked up the double pack, 1&2, after trading in my 3DS, MH3U and Goldeneye for the Wii. I got MH4U and the Bayonetta double pack for £6 after using some points on my Grainger Games reward card and the trade in.

Amazing! I can just picture them being stranded on a block of ice drifting out in the middle of the ocean, haha.

I had one of the most epic nights of hunting last night, with randoms too, I couldn't believe it. We had all recently become HR4 and we all went through the 4 Star hunts and our Urgents together, all coming out as HR5. Nobody screwed anyone over, we all took turns picking hunts and using vouchers for meals etc too. The hunts themselves were great, we all worked so well together, helping each other out... using deodorants on each other, using horns to group heal, kicking each other when webbed to break the webbing etc. The one thing I wish we had; voice-chat! It would've been great to cheer each other on and share the fun with a chat! The community on this game is great. Also, I completely owned every monster we came up against with my Charge Blade... that weapon is beastly. I was on fire, every heavy hit was landing so sweetly, I was getting KO's on the monsters, breaking everything on them and hardly taking any damage too. I was on top form, I loved it! There's nothing more satisfying than getting your phials full, sending the charge into your shield, restocking the phials and then unleashing the Axe mode's ultra attack, discharging all 10 phials at once on the monsters head... sweet! I LOVE this game! -

By all means I can help. I guess I'm used to not liking people being too overpowered helping me, it takes a good portion of the danger out of the hunts, which lessens the fun for me. -

So I've unlocked the "farm/bees" and can now forge Decorations. Back to multiplayer from tomorrow. -

I'll absolutely still hunt with you guys, I'd rather game with you lot than randoms, haha. Finally got a high rank armour set too (Nerscylla) so I'll be able to take more punishment from monsters! If other N-E members will be using skype or MUMBLE (those without a PS4 I guess) I'll be happy to game and chat with them too! -

I've given up trying to use the PS4 to chat for this game. I was gaming last night with @Blade and we were chatting on the phone and my connection was as stable as it gets. In fact, he got disconnected and I didn't at all. If Skype or MUMBLE doesn't effect the connection I'll be using them on my phone to chat. The reason I'm not using the PS4 is because it's not in the same room as my router, but to be able to get a stable connection on the 3DS I need to be in the same room as the router. One might say take the PS4 pad into the room with the router and carry on with PS4 chat... I would but the controller loses it's connection with the console if I take it out of the same room it's in. I swear to god, superman couldn't see through my walls, nothing gets through them! I'm not moving my PS4 either, already got a 360 and my WiiU in that room as well as the TV so I'm keeping my PS4 where it is as I'd not play it as much if it was in the other room. -

Gaming with @Blade last night (and thereafter) and it was as stable as can be. We were chatting over the phone and I was in the same room as the router, it makes all the difference. So I'll not be using the PS4 to chat (not in the same room as my router and I don't want to move it just for this) so I'll be using Skype or MUMBLE to chat. Will anyone else be using either of these? I'm HR4 at the mo but I think I'll be doing the single player so I can level up the Blacksmith to forge Decorations and also unlock the "farm" to get some honey farming on the go. I hate that you have to play the single player to unlock all this.
