Didn't it say in Hush he owned it or something? It's one of those things that mean nothing, he owns everything. -- Well anyway. Batman atm is not new-ready friendly, it's nearing the culmination of a 4 year run by Grant Morrison (<3), who has weaved one of the best, most interesting and challening Batman runs I've ever read, but has completely upset the status quo and it refers a lot to things that have gone in that run, and lots of stories from "Pre-Crisis" (a term used for the insane shit from the 50's and things generally before a story called "Crisis on Infinite Earths" cleaned up the continuity in the mid-80's and relaunched everything as we know it to be now). It's brill. But then I've read loads of his more cerebral/all over the place concept-wise stuff like Doom Patrol/Flex Mentallo/the Filth/Invisibles (mid-way through), so coming back to anything by him, I can kinda see and understand what he tries to do if he does something a bit odd, or unusual. Or at least appreciate and try and understand if I'm not sure. Magneto's a brilliant villain because he's not a walking caricature like Dr. Doom (who everyone worships?!). He's never explicitly hated the X-Men, they've just always been in the way of his ideals and goals (and not always, many have defected to him). He's not insane (really) etc. He and Rogue hit it off years ago IIRC, it's been a dangling plot for years, whenever he's calmed down a bit, but they've never got very far. Now he's in the X-Men, or at least helping them, he's offered to join her in teaching the students. She's a bit wary, but has kissed him in a telepathic accident thing. But yeah. It's not as random as it sounds.

I've only ever had one pair of headphones, a $130 pair from an airport in New York city. I don't think they were that great in retrospect though..they broke easily (though that's a design issue/my sister took them on the trampoline with her), but they didn't feel as satisfying as I'd hoped. I've been very happy with my little in-ear buds (can't remember what make), as I have such great Mac speakers for home that it's not a huge deal if it's not quite as good on the move. Plus they weren't iPod earbuds, which are shit. But anyway. They just broke. So I need a new pair. I might ask for cans for my birthday.

A majority has been reached. The group descended on the stern man. Laughing maniacally he activated a concealed cybernetic panel in his chest. The group saw too late, and not everyone got away in time. The explosion took the life of the man who cast the deciding vote...his own friend!? Ellmeister is dead. He was Donald Pierce. I've never understood why Hush gets people so excited. Never bothered to read any of the sequel storylines (heard they're shite though so yeah). Changes since Hush: And yeah, Batman has a son now, who's Robin, he's "dead"/trapped in time, and Dick Grayson is now Batman (has been for over a year). Catwoman, Harley, Poison Ivy and I think The Riddler are all "good" now, or at least they work together. I haven't actually read Gotham Sirens, but from what I gather, Harley finally leaves Joker after he goes through his most recent (BRILLIANT) change in the Batman comics and is all cold, and Catwoman is keeping them straight. Tim Drake's now Red Robin, off doing his own thing. Etc. I know I just countered my own point. But regardless.

NIGHT 1 IS OVER The grim woman stands alone in the hallway. A young man lunges at her from a doorway, knocking her down onto the floor. Before she could struggle or protest, their eyes lock, and she lies still. The man, smirking, leaves. Another woman walks by, and seeing this groggy woman, takes advantage of the situation. She puts a hand to her face. --- The flighty girl spies a stern looking man, and decides she may as help him out with her powers of – Kra-koom! She lies on the floor, smoke coming from her still form, groaning. Someone hadn’t wanted her getting in the way. --- A woman, looking dreadfully bored, is suddenly pulled into the shadows, hand over her mouth, muffling her shock. --- The partners hastily and stealthily made their way through the complex. They both agreed on the same target tonight to look into. A flash of blinding light. The flying partner tumbles painfully to the floor and into a disused room. He wakes up a few minutes later. His partner must have completed her mission without him. Good girl. He gets up, and spreads his wings. A chop across the neck from behind brings him back to his knees, and then a close-range energy blast rips through his skull. “Worthington is dead. We missed his partner. No matter.” the man reports back to his leader, as he walks off. Looking on is a large figure. He runs away, distressed. ReZourceman is dead. He was Archangel, the high-flying founding X-Man! That said, it's much easier to go to Waterstones and pick up a random Batman or Superman TPB, and have it generally make a lot of sense/be self-contained. Or at least when I was younger, that's what I did. (Though I did have a fair knowledge of Batman history, like who the characters were etc) Marvel tend to be more all linked together and read as one long story rather than be as self-contained. (In my experience)

Sonic The Comic was amazing. I just loved how they had a well-established story/set of characters, and it was so much more engaging than the games themselves. I also enjoyed how loads of different art styles were featured. Did anyone read the Chaos storyline? The one around when Sonic Adventure camer out on Dreamcast? Johnny the Rabbit died! So shocking. Genuine horror. I miss those comics. No idea where they are now.

Have both of those Spider-Man issues you two mentioned! I started way before you then ReZ! How weird's that? Cause that Marrow one is in Astonishing Spidey 90 something, and my first issue of that was 38. :p (though I then got back issues including the one Daft mentions, where he's like "Run Mary Jane! RUN FROM ME!") EDIT: I love.

What was the first comic everyone here read? By comic, I mean comic book, not like Beano or anything. Mine: Changed my life. Or rather, influenced it. So traumatising as well, first time I ever see/hear of Psylocke, and she "dies" in the same issue. It's fine though, the Crimson Dawn gives her a new lease on life/tattoo over one eye.

The usual crazes, Pokemon cards (but unlike most people I actually played the game), Beyblades, Yu-Gi-Oh etc. I suppose I collected comics, but collecting reminds me of like putting on a shelf and wrapping in plastic. I just read them (they weren't the American originals anyway so they had no resale value). Nowadays I "collect" graphic novels, but that's like saying someone "collects" books, just cause they buy them all the time. Now it seems crazes have gone. At least from what I've seen of my sister and cousin growing up. All they care about is who's got what fancy phone, who's wiping their arse with an iPad, who's rejected their facebook request...

Not in their current form. It was like...1 famous one every years or something. The Batman films had a little rise and fall in the 90's, but other than Superman, what else was really successful before the millenium resurge of superhero films, starting with X-Men?

Well he might be right. Especially with all the reboots and redos planned. They should have just not fucked it up in the first place.
