An interesting sign of MI:GP's success ; my sister and her friend had to go see it after they missed the film they intended to see, and loved it. She has no time for typical action film crap aimed at 'boys', and I find it interesting that both she and her friend loved it. The great humour and nice characters are such a boon.

This feels like it could be from a Catcher In The Rye/Bell Jar-esque novella. Thank U

The saga of The Cheeks has been ongoing since 2008.

What song(s) are you really into at the moment?!
Paj! replied to Aneres11's topic in General Chit Chat
Eh...less fun than expected for a song called Elephant. Hate that it's just randomly a club banger unnecessarily. It seems arbitrary. I feel songs that aren't lyrically about 'clubs' or 'dancing' or whatever can still be made into dance tracks successfully (see Collide by Leona Lewis & Avicii) but it isn't just a case of slapping a dance beat under it. Might grow to like it more. -
Go see Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol! It's so much fun! Never seen any of the others/had any interest, but you don't need to have seen any previous ones. This is one of the most fun, well-done action blockbusters I've ever seen, and personally I could see the Pixaresque touch of director Brad Bird in a lot of the set-pieces, which is of course good. Genuinely funny without being a comedy, action-paced with being self-congratulatinglynotaword macho and pleased with itself (the characters were all flawed/quite bad/had 5 clicks*). I liked the depiction of the women. These women weren't pure products of the male gaze like in so many action popcorn films. It was tonally really well-balanced and everyone quite likeable. So many of the 'funny lines' were actually funny rather than seeming out of place or falling dead or feeling forced. Yes @ "Next time I'll be the one to seduce the billionaire." YEah yeah yeah go see it! I hate shit and this wasn't shit. So fun! WOOOOO! REALLY reminded me of The Incredibles and other Pixar films in some way. Maybe I'm just reaching since I know who directed it, but ya. * @chairdriver, @ReZourceman

Yeah I'd like to see who people follow if they have a stunning blog so I can siphon off their stun, BUT then I like the privacy at the same time - as my dashboard is a stunning melange of things. Fine art, film posters, new music, porn (ish), gifs, illustrations, Madonna images/news etc etc. All my stars aligned. And I'd rather people didn't know what my dashboard looked like. :p

Iron Lady Not a great film by any means (basically a good TV movie) but Meryl Streep SLAYS once again. Seriously great. Mesmerising. I would have been more interested in a different approach to a Maggie biopic though I think.

The only checked shirt I can wear is my dark red one that reminds me of blood/isn't cheap so actually fits me properly. Had it for like 5 years and served me so well. I hate when the design is too busy, when it mixes lights and darks too much. Also it's the effect of seeing too many people wearing the same thing in the same room syndrome whenever you go to (most) club(s). It's like how stunning girls dip dying their brunette hair blonde is. However the effect is ruined when you see it more than one girl in the same vicinity. At an art college, that happens. The only true orignal I ever see at uni is the one who does fashion and reminds me of Kelis-meets-Janelle-Monae-by-way-of-Solange-Knowles. [/complete tangent] You still look nice though Serebii.

I assume I've posted it before, but surely some others here have already heard the thunderous coming of Azealia Banks? First heard the earth-shattering 212 when Pitchfork posted about it, before I noticed EVERYONE screaming her name and crying etc. I just loved her face then was stunned. But regardless, everyone real is in awe. The beats are so un-shit rap/hip-hop. So stun/ Think it's someone else's, but no one cares. Her wordplay/delivery is so much. UGH. What you gonna do when I appear? W-when I premier Bitch the end of your lives are near This shit been mine, mine! What you gonna do when I appear W-when I premier Bitch the end of your lives are near This shit been mine, mine! It's like the cry of Death as she comes for the final embrace. Had it for months but I can never listen to it just once when I play it, it's never enough. Also OMGworthy is Makes Nicki Minaj (even when she goes her hardest) seem really try-hard and facile.

DEFINITELY change the picture of you. Have one, but not that one. Lowers the tone of the rest, which looks really nice. Have it more straightfoward/business-like. That looks like its from down the pub, or like it's from a meme or putting random faces in a box or something. Dunno if that makes sense. It doesn't fit tonally.

Thank you for reminding me to cancel my Lovefilm account. I've forgotten once already and been charged. Phoned them twice and they are masters of DECEPTION DECEIT AND CHARMING YOU INTO NOT CANCELLING WITH GIFTS AND OFFERS I DON'T EVEN USE. I need to just shout CANCEL IT CANCEL IT until they do so. UGH. TELEPHONE PEOPLE.

It's never explained (in the films. The 'expanded universe' which is non-canon might have it's own theories, but doubt they have any link to Scott's own thoughts).

I always forget Zara exists. I was going around every (real) male clothes shop yesterday and it wasn't there. Yet I remember going to the Bentalls one with Chair before. I was frustrated and overheating at the time and wasn't in the mood to shop so maybe it was erased from my vision.

Of course everything on the first album pales in comparison to The 'hums' in Heavy Metal Lover are a musical highlight of the year for me.

Yeah I really don't care about animals (not in the sense that I actively mistreat them, but I just have no opinion on them mostly, especially when they meant to be 'funny' in films) but the dog was a joke thing/good.

Imagine if they did a stupid "New edition with cgi", replacing the baby with cgi - it would look shit as those rereleases always do/Alien3 already does. As a film overall, it hasn't dated. Nope. Relative to ANY other movie from the 70's I can think of. I think the hairstyles are maybe what date it most, if at all.

Yeah, it's a sad story, but the video I found almost funny due to the typical talent show editing/judges crying/asking questions about his past after being prompted to do so...if it was slightly more tongue in cheek it could've been a script for a spoof of talent show sob stories. Sad that it's true of course but the video was "...". I loved the judge's faces.

I'm in such a The Fame mood. It's way worse than Born This Way but is fun when you give it a go. Obviously the single's are enjoyable but the album tracks are pleasant enough too. I hate the Cherry Cherry Boom Boom stuff, but you get over it.

Alien is a fucking fantastic film, one of my favourites and as Flinky says, a triumph in it's genre, as it manages to completely ESCAPE it's own genre trappings, and doesn't feel at all dated 30+ years on. BOW DOWN. Aliens is also great, but in a different way. But yes, yes, brill. --- I haven't watched the trailer for this as I want to watch the film as unspoiled as possible. I already know too much.

Go see it now, I had a smile across my face the entire time. Such a luminous film. So nice!

I got tumblr. I plan on using it to put up m own work too, but will start doing that when I'm back at uni/with my work/can work. Right now just getting to grips with it/trying to amass people to follow/posting things that I find stunning. But really I'm just practising. Follow me. Or don't, you may hate what I post.
